That's some really nice packaging for a bootleg.
The package material is way better than most dvds i own. And it even came with a protective case.

Yeah more care was put into it than any of the legit releases I own.The material is way better than most dvds i owned.
27, I think. Whichever volume ends the Millennium Falcon empire arc. I just remembered a lull until, maybe, midway through book 30.
Awesome, thanks!Yes 27, the last episode is the beginning of a new chapter. New arc also starts at 35 so that would be a good point too.
(Berserk structure is Episode-Chapter-Arc)
2 days til new chapter. It's Always Sunny in Falconia.
I am absolutely terrified of what the F.E.M.T.O. System would look like. The Gang Hand

At least he's off the fucking boat now and Griffith got bitch smacked. So I decided to finish my re-read/ catch up with Berserk.
Not a whole lot happened in the last 5 years huh... fuck.

I would like to know about the U.B.I.K and S.L.A.N.N. systems.Fixate on a female in an increasingly unhealthy fashion
Extinguish all hope for salvation with horrible demon tentacles
Molest her and other terrible things to get back at your best buddy
Torture the love of her life in front of his eyes... eye.
Obliterate her mind and move on and disappear into the night.
What you really don't want to see is the U.B.I.K. and S.L.A.N.N. systems.
Well those IdolM@ster games aren't going to play themselves.Don't get me wrong it was pretty great and I look forward to the Rickert, Daiba, and Silat party and it's nice to see Luca doing well and etc etc but that was not as much content as I was hoping.
The English dub for the Dreamcast games uses "Gattsu" and it drove me nuts. How about those crazy old subs with GATTSU
We have a wild Berserk chapter out there, untranslated but with a quick glance I saw tons of witches, wizards, talking tree's with faces, a glimpse of the moonlight child, and an entire village of magic users.
It's nice that Schierke finally gets to socialize with peers that can relate to her.
I mean, Guts and friends are well and good, but the opportunity for Schierke to connect with fellow witches should lead to interesting character developments.

Does anyone know where you can pick up Volume 29 of Berserk for regular price? Used copies are going for 40 and new are going for 90-100 bucks. The only place that has it at regular price has a BBB rating of F and from what I understand are basically thieves.
They really need to reprint more man. This is crazy.
Sadly that's all for now until Dark Horse does another reprint. Or you can join me in writing them constantly about how they really need to release some of the older volumes and hell, give us a special edition set of volumes that are larger, nicer in quality, maybe have some extra bonus art from Miura, and a nice hard cover. Oh yeah!
I would buy hard cover compendiums in a heart beat. But Berserk would need to become ultra popular in the west for DH to do something like that. Hopefully one day someone makes a fantastic Movie/Game/Anime or whatever that sparks interest in the series again. It's one of the best pieces of literature in the medium it's in. It's a shame it doesn't get a royal treatment in other forms of media.

While we at Dark Horse appreciate the concern over volumes being out of print, we have to look at both sales history and sales velocity in making our decisions about what to reprint. Though the numbers that BigRock posted are not entirely accurate, they are indicative of the low numbers of available stock for some volumes. But it's not just a matter of Dark Horse reprinting books. It only makes sense for us to reprint books for which we anticipate enough demand to make reprinting a worthwhile endeavor.
I took a look at our in-house sales history which tracks stock on hand (both in our warehouse and in Diamond Books Distributors' warehouse), number of copies sold per month, and unsold copies returned by the bookstore market. Even last year, when there was stock on hand for ALL of the volumes of Berserk, the sales velocity (copies sold per month) for many of the middle volumes was anywhere from single digits to low double digits (in the low teens). That means the consumer demand for many of those middle volumes is between 80 and 170 copies per year. Even going back to press for just 1000 copies (the bare minimum print quantity, for which you pay a higher than average printing price) would leave us with a six- to twelve-year supply. And, sadly, If at the end of those six to twelve years, we have managed to sell all one thousand of those copies, between storage, inventory taxes, and licensing fees, Dark Horse will end up in the red. Not really a recipe for staying in business.
Well, you say, why not raise the price of the books to cover the costs? Great. Except history has shown that raising prices on those volumes to the extent necessary to cover the costs would further erode sales -- and increase inventory taxes. So, that's a non-starter.
I'm just trying to layout the realities of the publishing business for you. Believe me, we'd love to be able to make everything available forever, but that's not realistic or possible.
I'm just the messenger here, but if somebody can figure out a way for us to provide Berserk readers with copies and allow us to stay in business at the same time, I'd love to hear it.
The might reprint but there's always a big issue with how much they have to do it just for the sake of having some profitability. There was a thread about this on dark horse a few years ago where, before the major reprint, many berserk volumes were out of stock

Dope, thanks for not spoiling. Looking forward to it.A lot has happened though which I think its funny, saying a lot hasn't is really disingenuous. The world the story takes place has literally transformed but I will say no more.

Those guys are very picky lol. Probably not.
Kinda crazy that I have been reading puella summaries of Berserk episodes since i was a teenager lol. Time is fucked up.

Same here. My brother picked up the Dreamcast game on a whim way back in the day, and then just so happened to come across one of the Berserk anime DVDs not long after. He eventually introduced the anime to me (I hated the first episode but kept watching cause he made such a big deal about it). Then a little while after that Dark Horse announced they were releasing the manga in the US. Followed Berserk closely ever since.
Was probably around 15 or 16 at that point. Almost 30 years old now! I hope the manga finishes before I turn 50...
Thank god I picked up Berserk late last year. You long time fans have suffered.
It's a lack of respect for Miura. The man is still young and if he keeps himself healthy, he'll easily finish Berserk. I don't want the man to kill himself to get Berserk out quicker. It's good practice for keeping something out of your mind when thinking about it won't do any good. Generally I think that the only people who still get upset at the hiatuses are the Johnny-come-latelies.
I'm usually perfectly fine with the hiatuses, it's not like I don't have other shit to occupy my time with. It's good practice for keeping something out of your mind when thinking about it won't do any good. Miura seems like an interesting and deeply perverted man lol. I do need to find the time to read that though.I think for a long time Miura didn't respect himself. Guy sounds like a perfectionist and a workaholic, a great and terrible combination depending on how you look at it. He had something of a health scare a few years back after overworking himself to exhaustion. He still has a crazy daily routine from all things we've heard, like 14 to 16 hour days, 6 to 7 days a week. At least now I think he takes vacations and actually spends some time doing something other than Berserk.
If anyone is interested he did a 6 part mini series a few years ago called Gigantomachia that takes place on earth a million years into the future after humanity still exists but there are several divergent species that have arisen from mankind over the eons. Its Miura but it definitely felt like a bit of a pallet cleanser for him as it was nowhere near as dark, had an upbeat protagonist who and a thousand year old dragon in a little girl body trope... well sort of. Also its got a focus on wrestling moves and is Miura's homage to giant monster/robot battles and oh yeah, there is a Golden Shower!
