Best games of this generation that no one played. Choose one.

There's a PC version of Chaos Legion?!? =O

Chromehounds.jpg

A lot of people missed out on what I consider to be the best MP game of this generation.

Neroimus war flashbacks hit me hard when I saw this.

There is no other game that has had such an engrossing online component. You pick your country and over the course of the season invade other countries and defend your country's cities in real time. It was so phenomenal and overwhelming.

Fragile_Dreams_US_box_art.jpg

1. What is it?

How should I describe it? A gem in the Wii system that is... I guess just an exploring/adventure-style game? I mean, you are search around a post-apocalyptic place, being chased by animals, spirits and whatnot, and fighting back with random crap (like golf clubs) you find.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

XSEED title, and just one people keep forgetting about. A fairly quiet release, too.

3. Why should we play it?

The atmosphere of this game is like no other... The controls can be annoying and clunky, and the real-time running around the areas can be annoying, but staring up at the sky... the artwork... the music... the haunting story and trying to discover with just what happened to cause the world to be this way... The beauty of the game and the feels it gives, outweighs the bad.

Is it a great game or is it a great syndicate game?
I never played it, I'm one of those bad people - when I heard it was FPS my interest was 0.
I love L4D and coop games which "feel" single player - however I rarely rarely play them.

I prefer a good old fasioned SP game.

I picked this game up thanks to a GAFer who posted some screenshots - plus the demo seemed ....... unique as fuck. I got an "Another World" (Out of this world for the savages) feeling from it. I haven't played it yet but it's on my backlog! It's... unique.

I don't know if it's really a great Syndicate game exactly. The co-op maps are apparently based on areas from the original game, but I believe it's mainly just Syndicate in name alone. The SP campaign is linear, stroy driven, and divided into replayable chapters. Encounter design is great (especially towards the end of the game), there a number of boss fights, a good amount of variety, and the game has few neat gameplay gimmicks that no other shooters have copied. The story is pretty throwaway and ends abruptly, but it's still one of the better SP FPS campaigns this gen. Gunplay is fantastic, IMO unsurpassed. Campaign is around 6-7 hours on normal difficulty.

A lot of people had problems with the excessive use of bloom, but I like it and think it works well with the art direction and cyberpunk aesthetic.

What is it?

Japanese action adventure for badasses

Why do you feel it is underrated?

It didnt sell and therefore Sega dont want to localize Yakuza 5

Why should we play it?

Fun gameplay, great characters, story, soundtrack, life lessons to be learned from, soundtrack,
So close! I would say Yakuza 3:
74gPlpel.jpg

(What horrible box art!)

What is it?
GTA in Japan! Not really; it is an action adventure brawler with one of the most badass manly protagonists in the history of video games.

Why is it underrated?
Perhaps one of the more criminally underlooked games/franchises of this generation in terms of having both a great story and fun gameplay.

Why should we play it?
Yakuza 3 in particular manages to make fetch quests and escort missions emotionally meaningful in a way that I haven't experienced since. Something as simple as hanging out with a bunch of orphans and learning about their problems is done through gameplay, building an understanding of the relationship that Kazuma has with the children under his care. I was bawling my eyes out by the ending and was basically out for blood by the time I was headed to the final boss, something that game hasn't really been able to do to me since.

RADIANT HISTORIA

What Is It?

An amazing JRPG that was released late into the life of the Nintendo DS. Developed and published by Atlus, it contained an immense world and story with relatable characters and a strong supporting cast. Read more on Wikipedia.

Why is it underrated?

It sold extremely little and only a handful of people know of this game.

Why should you play it?
There's a unique battle system and a unique way to experience the story. It has multiple endings and every decision came with repercussions. It was also developed by a team filled with talent ranging from Etrian Odyssey to Shin Megami Tensei to Persona. It's an amazing RPG and it definitely deserves some attention.

1. What is it?

An adventure-puzzle game for Wii from Capcom.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

Released under radar, nobody bought it, sequel is canned.

3. Why should we play it?

Because it's awesome and full of humor and charm. It's also looks great and plays great, except for some motion gimmicks.

1. What is it?

An arcade style FPS

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

Due to the juvenile humor "dick tits" and shitty marketing it was criminally overlooked.

3. Why should we play it?

Gameplay was an absolute blast with a fun score-chase upgrade mechanic. It's a beautiful game with a surprisingly decent narrative and on top of it all one of the best SP campaign's this gen.

I would never have played this if it wasn't for PS+ and I have to say it is a solid fps with a few great set pieces. The combo system is fresh too.

1. What is it?

Probably the best Contra game ever made.

Been waiting for a price drop on this in like forever.

I don't know if it's really a great Syndicate game exactly. The co-op maps are apparently based on areas from the original game, but I believe it's mainly just Syndicate in name alone.

There's the problem. People like me won't play it because we're annoyed they dared fuck with Syndicate and the game which could've been good under another name gets fucked up - AND the franchise dies now due to it.

This is similar to DmC - I love the shit out of DmC but I probably would've liked that exact game under any name as I've never played the originals. I'm sick of the DmC whiners who are DMC fans - but I can't help but understand the situation which could've kept both parties happy.

I've given up PC gaming so I doubt I'll get to try Syndicate unfortunately.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

For the tuning and modding options. As great as Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport are no other console driving game has had a graphical representation of car modding like Import Tuner Challenge. Even n00bs can understand things like camber, toe in/out because you see the vehicle physically change in real time as you make mods. Want a Stage 2 Induction kit? It physically shows you the parts added into the engine bay from Pod filters to cold air intakes being fitted to your car.

This game was known as Tokyo Xtreme Racer on the PS2. I just recently found out that a 360 sequel exist for this awesome series and I'm trying to hunt down a copy of it.

There's a PC version of Chaos Legion?!? =O

Yes, and it's a horrible-yet-playable port.

1. What is it?

A role-playing video game developed by Grasshopper and probably the absolutely best Nintendo DS game.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

Page five of this thread and no one remember this game, also sold poorly.

3. Why should we play it?

The story, job system, graphics, the music, seriously, best NDS game and I played A LOT of NDS games.

zombiU-screenshot1.jpg

What is it?

Zombi U

An incredibly hard Zombi game, that was criminally mis-understood.

Why do you feel it is underrated?

I always say to people Zombi U is how the world would really be if a Zombi apocalypse actually happened

It got panned as reviewers found it to hard I think, 1 zombie can kill you, 2 and you are in real trouble

and lets be honest it was on the Wii U so it is fashionable to bash it, if this was cross platform people would still be raving about it

Why should we play it?

Turn the lights out, and enjoy what I feel is the scariest game out there, it is only ruined by 1 level which is insanely hard

It has a 'chicken mode' also a true 'survivor' mode which means 1 death, game over!

Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars

tvc_character_poster_psd_jpgcopy--article_image.jpg

1. What is it?
A team-based fighting game, which introduced several interesting mechanics (such as the Baroque system), that has a varied cast of characters from the Japanese Animation Studio Tatsunoko Productions, & the famous video game studio, Capcom Japan.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?
It had gotten lost in the shuffle when the over-rated Marvel VS. Capcom 3 was announced, and it didn't help that the game was exclusive to the Nintendo Wii. It was also problematic that there was a lack of familiarity with the Tatsunoko cast, along with several questionable choices in the Capcom roster.

3. Why should we play it?
Ultimate All-Stars was a fine example of being a great crossover fighting game, one that had moved at a brisk pace, with great controls (which made it easy to seamlessly combo & switch between characters), and it offered wonderful competitive gameplay. It had also felt deeper & was much better balanced fighter than the dumb-dumb Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Which was dumb. And Stupid. And possibly dumb.

In addition, the North American version included 4 new characters (Zero & Frank West for the Capcom side, while Joe the Condor & Yatterman 2 rounding out the Tatsunoko cast), along with a toe-tappin' soundtrack.
My buddy and I played the shit out of this game. We both liked it more than SSFIV, actually.

Final Fantasy Type 0

The_official_Japanese_box_art_for_Final_Fantasy_Type-0.png

1. What is it?
The best Final Fantasy of the gen(well looking at the other FF games it's not saying much, but it's really good)

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?
It's not underrated, it's not localized :(

3. Why should we play it?
because... it's the best Final fantasy of the gen lol
If you need more motivations:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj34PPN6RHY
Is the music from the video part of the OST of the game? Because it sounds horrible. Aside from that, the game looks fun.

Edit: Just noticed people posting Vita, 3DS and Wii U games. The thread is about this gen (aka last gen). Vita, 3DS and Wii U are next gen, along PS4 and Xbone.

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat Appreciation: Bongos Vs. New Play Control

Topic_Title_card.jpg

I'm going to also suggest Donkey Kong Jungle Beat since it was re-released on the Wii. This game was criminally overlooked. The DK Country games get a ton of exposure and praise, but Jungle Beat is the direction the DK series really should have moved in. It's the direct precursor to Super Mario Galaxy... How could it fail to find an audience... TWICE!?!

Bongo controls or bust!

For me it's Asura's wrath:

1. What is it?

Bluntly speaking it's a QTE fest with some levels that either play like a generic 3d person action brawler, or like a Shoot 'em up. The story and cutscenes play out like an anime show, and for many of us it's the best Dragon ball z game that never came out.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

It's a niche title, for sure, But it does seem like many people were put off by the low scores and the fact the entire game consists of cutscenes and QTEs. I would say it deserves more recognition(though I really dislike Capcom) and shouldn't be dismissed because of its weirdness.

3. Why should we play it?

asuras-wrath-o.gif

I promise you this; if you enjoyed Dragon ball z, or just like cutscenes and QTEs in video games, you will enjoy this game. It has some really enjoyable shmup levels, in the vein of Sin and punishment, and the scale of the game is absolutely huge.

If you have ever played God of war 3 and thought "Wow, it's so epic!" and never played Asura's wrath, you don't know what true epicness is. This game has the most epic bosses and cutscenes you have ever seen in a game, and that's a guarantee.

The best thing this has over God of War III is that Asura is post-I&II Kratos done right.

1. What is it?
Grid based, turn based traditional JRPG, released early last gen on X360 and then ported to PS3, made by GAF's beloved FROM software.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?
It was released early last gen on the xbox 360 only before the PS3 even launched, and coming from the PS2 generation, with all the AAA JRPGs, i think everyone thought this gen will be FILLED with AAA traditional JRPGs, and everyone ignored the game, also the game's low-fi presentation, and cliched cast didn't help

3. Why should we play it?
its a great, charming and fun traditional turn based JRPG, when most JRPGs released these days are real-time, and there isn't much traditional JRPGs on consoles these days, the game is also long (~50 hours), has a pokemon-esque monster collection and upgrade system. it also has some nice features in the game, like save anywhere, and battle Fast Forward so easy encounters don't take much time

What is it?
It is the direct A Link to the Past sequel we've never got.

Except we did. ;)

Glad to see Zangeki no Reginleiv already on here, so I'll pick the following one:

ihICAhZleNtvJ.JPG
ibciSKpQQKMALT.JPG

1. What is it?

It's Gundam Breaker, a game where you play as a model Gundam and battle tons of other models in a variety of stages.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

Even though it sold very well in Japan, the game was not released in the west and for some reason gets barely any attention.
The demo that was put up on PSN was basically the tutorial part of the game where you had very little to customise and experiment with, thus giving the impression that the game is rather bland and boring.

3. Why should we play it?

Once you start collecting other Gundam parts and experiment with them, the game opens up and becomes something entirely different.
The goal is to break parts of of your enemies with your powerful moves and then destroy them as quickly as possible so you get part drops instead of just extra XP.

The game gives you the ability to play in the fashion you prefer. You want to play it like a samurai game? No problem. Just select a two armed sword and the special moves that go with it become equitable.
Kung Fu style? Go bare handed.
Huge laser battle options? Check. Beam Sabre battles? Check

In honesty, it does start of rather slow. But I feel it's necessary to prepare you for the crazy stuff that happens later on. From level 30 onwards, you'll find yourself in incredibly manic fights, zooming around the place and picking off smaller enemies to build up your energy to take on the bigger ones so that you can break them into pieces and add new parts to your ever evolving Gundam.

I'm not a big Gundam fan myself, but still this is one of my favourite games of the year by far. So much so that I didn't only import the PS3 game, but the Vita one as well, even though both games are identical. :)

What Is It?

A co-op platforming game by The Behemoth, known for Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers.

Why Is It Overlooked?

It was released this summer amidst the hype for the new consoles. The Xbox 360 itself seems to have been slowing down recently and nobody ever talks about this game.

Why Should We Play It?

Because it has some of the funniest dialogue you will ever see along with some of the fastest, most enjoyable platforming in years. Not to mention an abundance of incredible multiplayer minigames and the gorgeous art The Behemoth is famous for.

Also have to mention, secret prisoner unlocks. I personally have played the game almost every week for new prisoner unlocks. The game features secret prisoners which you could only unlock by playing the community playlist, highlighting community created levels. Every week they reward you with a secret prisoner for playing the levels.
A great way of introducing community levels with an incentive to play and rate them, great idea.

King's Bounty: The Legend

What is it?

It's a turn-based strategy/RPG hybrid from the Russian Developer Katauri Interactive. It was released in 2009.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

Not many people talk about it or it's sequels. While it had two, also excellent, sequels, all three games seem to be pretty unknown everywhere.

3. Why should we play it?

Because it brings hours of great gaming. There is nothing more satisfying than recruiting an army and clear island after island of enemies while building your hero into a complete monster.

Alice: Madness Returns

Sent out to die by EA with little to no support such is the way of EA when it comes to titles that wont do stupid numbers in the sales department. And I feel because of the old school feel it has many reviewers just didn't give it a fair shot.

A very beautiful game with a wonderful art style. It has a great old school platformer adventure feel which you just don't get anymore. It does have some camera issues but nothing to worry about. The combat is surprisingly good for a title like this with various weapons to collect and power. It manages to feel fresh and varied throughout the game. The story is also quite good and worth investing in.

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown

What Is It?

A 3D fighting game developed by AM2. This is the latest version available. Well known franchise for be the first 3D fighter in early 90's.

Why Is It Overlooked?

Probably the lack of marketing, and the "technically demanding" gameplay...

Why Should We Play It?

One of the most balanced cast of any fighter. Awesome netcode. Deep gameplay but at the same time, accesible. Totally customizables fighters (well...you have to buy the DLCs). OST of all previous VF games...Ride the Tiger FTW. Cheap.

Tearaway of course. It sold so few copies it is sold for 17.99 mere weeks after its release.

What is it?

An adventure/platformer designed for the vita.

Why do you feel it is underrated?

Because it is on the Vita, and it belongs to a genre that is difficult to break into. It is also a completely new IP.

Why should we play it?

It looks amazing, plays amazing, and is innovative.

MM & Sony also heavily discounted LBP Vita several times shortly after its release. Since then though, they have kept it consistently higher. Perhaps it is a similar strategy with Tearaway.

I want to give this a nod too. If it wasn't for Last Remnant I think gameplay wise this would be my favorite turn based rpg on PS3/360. The game is a lot of fun with the whole grid system for combat.

I am glad to see EA get some love. I have always considered picking it up but never saw much love for it and always bypassed it. I will snag it the next time I see it and finally give it a shot.

I am glad to see EA get some love. I have always considered picking it up but never saw much love for it and always bypassed it. I will snag it the next time I see it and finally give it a shot.

Well, I will say I think the combat is the highlight of the game. The story is pretty standard stuff and the voice acting ranges from alright to bad, it's also one of those games where almost all the cutscenes are just the upper half of character's bodies facing each other on top of a background. The dungeon design is nothing special from what I recall (actually I think most of it is corridor crawling like FF13, but the game does have towns I guess ~_~)

But, totally worth it for the combat. It uses a grid a system (3x3 on each side of the battlefield iirc) and all your attacks have range values so it's all about positioning to hit the most enemies while making sure your own characters are safe. Really fun imo.

Bayonetta
maxim-be-bayonetta.jpg

1. What is it?
It's a supernatural character-action brawler from the creator of Devil May Cry about a witch who kills angels with transforming hair while posing and dressing in a ludicrously sexualized manner.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?
Yes, yes, I know that Bayonetta has been played by a number of people on GAF and other gaming communities. But internet fame != sales. However, the game sold poorly enough that the only way for Platinum Games to make a sequel was to have Nintendo publish it exclusively. Factors behind the lack of sales were probably:
  • The uncomfortable theme of a witch killing angels.
  • An unusual character for a Devil May Cry-style action game that was probably too much of a strong, sexually intimidating female lead for wimpy, adolescent males. I hope to god that this isn't the reason.
  • Sega's lack of good marketing. Why they hell can't publishers market games that are obviously good anyway?
  • It was released in January, and I supsect that gamers were satisfied with the games they already got during the holidays.

3. Why should we play it?
Easy Answer shown above: It's the spiritual successor of Devil May Cry from the people who MADE Devil May Cry. It's so over-the-top, wacky and audacious that it makes the aforementioned series seem mundane by comparison. Bayonetta's controls and combat system are super tight and super deep, the difficulty finely balanced for each level. When you die, you know it was your fault and know you have to change your approach to beat them. The new moves you discover are so fun to use, that you anticipate scenarios where you're required to use them. Turning into a cat on the fly and running across platforms never gets old. Bayonetta's portrayal of her sex appeal is so over-the-top and very tongue-in-cheek that it contributes to the game's sense of humor(something I liken to Kill la Kill). Every boss battle feels like an epic final battle. And the final boss itself completely blows away everything else.
Overall, Bayonetta is one of the greatest action games of all time! OF ALL TIME!

An Action Hack & Slash RPG made by Cavia (Their last game *tears*)

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

Released on the same week as Final Fantasy XIII and was ignored by Square Enix with small budget but the entire game feels like a mix of risky experiments not seen in other games

3. Why should we play it?

It has some of the best soundstrack of all time. The story is one of the most depressing stories ever. The characters are all lovable with amazing dialog exchange between them. Drakengard's sequel (in a way). GOTTA RIDE THAT BOAR ALL DAY EVERYDAY!

Thumbs up!

wallpaper_gravity_daze_01_2560x1600.jpeg

1. What is it?
Gravity Rush, an action/adventure/platformer for the Vita.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?
It was (a) a launch title (b) for the Vita. That's pretty much all there is to it. The fact that I haven't seen this game mentioned is a testament to how few people played it, despite being completely free for all Vita owners right now. Seriously, if you own a Vita, fucking download this game and play it immediately. Unfortunately, not a lot of people own a Vita, so the game was released to low sales.

3. Why should we play it?
Absolutely spectacular art and level design meets fantastic gameplay. It easily combines solid combat mechanics with some of the most unique enemy designs I've seen in a video game. You can shift into a gravity-defying state where you float around, then shift gravity in any direction, allowing you to fly through the air, walk on walls and ceilings, or just float around kicking shit. Once mastered - and it's easy to master - you'll be flying all over the place in no time. Tons of upgrades to obtain and collectibles to find. The story is well-executed, and while it takes a little bit to get rolling, some of the 'filler' stuff is still extremely fun and the characters very likable. Fuck, even the DLC for this game is great. Just... Just great. Play it dammit. Just play it.

Wario Land: Shake It and Anarchy Reigns are a bit higher on my list, but since no one has given this a full post yet:

Wet_game.jpg

1. What is it?
A 3rd person shooter with great presentation, especially if you like grindhouse-type things.

2. Why is it underrated?
It didn't sell especially well. A sequel was planned (with a different dev, oddly enough) then canned. It got a bunch of mediocre scores.

3. Why should GAF play it?
It has some of the best presentation of anything I played this year. It manages to maintain that grindhouse feel, which most games completely ruin. It has one of, if not my favorite soundtrack of last gen, and it uses a ton of set pieces that give the game those genuine "oh shit this is awesome" moments. The shooting and melee feel fine, but are dramatically improved when integrated with your acrobatics. Wallruns, dives, power slides, etc. aren't just for contextual use, they're something you have to employ in order to score well. The game directly rewards you for doing awesome stuff, which is super gratifying. It's just damn fun to play.

The ending kind of sucks and I don't know if could play it a second time for fear of nitpicking all its problems, but I really enjoyed my time with Wet. You can get it for super cheap now, so give it a shot.

I have 2 entries because I really couldn't pick between who needs mentioned more.

AqHo2qd.jpg

1. What is it?

The Last Story, an Action RPG by original Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi released on the Wii towards the end if it's life.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

The game was one of the 3 games that project rainfall got Nintendo to bring to the US/EU. While the game sold well by Nintendo's and Mist Walker's standards, I still feel it could use a lot more attention.

3. Why should we play it?

The story is truly amazing, regardless of horrible voice acting. For the Wii, the game is damned beautiful, and this is the gameplay that Final Fantasy should have. The combat works flawlessly, taking command of your partners works perfectly and your partner AI rarely has idiot moments. It's sad that the game didn't get the attention it deserves.

Crysis 2. It's multiplayer is awesome, but not many people play(ed) it.

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?
Like I said, not a lot of people played it. There was a lot of negativity surrounding it. It was and still is a bit buggy, but the bugs are mostly superficial.

The game was a perfect combination of the speed and maneuverability of Unreal Tournament, the gunplay of any modern shooter and the energy management of the nanosuit.

3. Why should we play it?
It's one of those games that will grow on you. One of those games where you can get really good at. It's a game where you can get good enough to get a kill streak of 50+, just by using your gun. There are kill streak rewards and they are mostly comparable to cod 4's killstreak rewards.

One of those games where dying 100% feels like your own fault.

People still play it. There are about 200 people playing it at this moment, but it fluctuates. I still play it from time to time, because it reminds me how boring most other multiplayer games are.

I approve of this post. I agree that Crysis 2 (and even Crysis 3) gets a lot of undeserved hate. It's such a fun game, probably the most enjoyable multi-player fps this generation.

1. What is it?

Eufloria

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

It's a quirky, interesting little indie RTS/tower defence game that never seems to get talked about.

3. Why should we play it?

It's achingly beautiful, addictive and with a surprising amount of depth. It ticks all the right boxes for being an indie darling, yet never gets mentioned that I've seen.

This happens to be the amazon app of the day today which means it is free. I've never played it so can't speak to the android versions quality, but just thought I'd mention it.

Little King's Story:

1. A RTS mixed in with elements of city building and action. Essentially, a better Pikmin.
2. Kiddy looking cover for a title released on a "kiddy" console. Yet, it's rated T, so no kid would accidently pick it up. A misfit among misfits.
3. Great gameplay, charming artstyle, moody music, memorable characters and a story that actually goes places you wouldn't think it would.

Tons of worthy mentions, but this one...yeah. What a gem in every way. I got about 20 hours in, I think, and then my son overwrote my save. Never finished it. Didn't have the heart after that.

1. What is it?

Strategy RPG set in 15th Century France lighty based on Joan of Arc

2. Why do you feel it is underrated?

This was one of the Earlier PSP Strat/RPG's to come out, but of course you had to own a PSP which in US didn't take off as much as in other countries.

3. Why should we play it?
It had an incredible battle system, and pretty awesome story. Did i mention that it was made by level 5? also this was Ken Levine's favorite PSP game. I really don't know what to say except to give this game a chance, It immediately hooked me with the story and ability crafting, and I hope/wish that everyone would champion this game a bit more

One of my favorite psp games

It's also a really good introduction to the SRPG genre because it has easy to understand menus and is easy to pick up (while still having a good amount of depth)
I bounced off final fantasy tactic's obtuseness multiple times and then this game made me appreciate SRPGS and got me to try disgaea afterwards

Besides Asura's wrath I have several other honourable mentions:

Brothers: A tale of two sons- the game is actualy fairly known and played, but not as much as it should be, it's on sale right now on steam so if you didn't play it, now is the time. One of my favourite games of this generation.

A boy and his blob- An extremely charming 2d platformer-ish puzzle game with a lot of heart. If you have a Wii, check it out.

EDF: Insect armageddon- Pure fun. Shooting giant bugs and robots with a huge arsenal of weapons has never been this fun. Highly recommended.

Gravity rush- My first game on the Vita and a truly great gem. The freedom and ability to fly(technically changing gravity but whatever) anywhere you want makes the game flow very well, and the combat feels fresh and enjoyable. If you have a Vita you probably already know about it though.

I haven't finished Sly 4 and Puppeteer but they also deserve a mention. I have yet to play Tearaway though, and it might top everything I have put on this list so far.

I have 2 entries because I really couldn't pick between who needs mentioned more.

Gonna have to disagree on the VA, I thought it was great. Agreed on the rest.

I've made peace with the fact that I'll never play Nier through. Game play's just not for me after a couple hours.

But I've heard way too much about its unique story. I just read it on Wikipedia. Holy fuck. Holy fuck at what happens on repeat playthroughs, especially the end of
the third
. Is that for real??

Kudos to people who stuck through it.
