I've been sort of on a cocktail kick and am looking for some interesting drinks to make. So what are the best/most out there mixed drinks you've had?

One of the best ones I've had was in this bar in Seattle. It was some vodka strawberry drink and tasted way better than I expected.

These!! :O

But I'm usually like a simple highball guy (vodka cran etc). If I'm going cocktail, I either attempt the ones above or go with Holy Water or Sex on the Beach.

Edit: first post omg I've never done that before :')

I had a bartender make me his take on an Old Fashioned where he muddled some orange and cherry and used enough bitters to saturate a single sugar cube. It was amazing and I've been trying to reproduce it ever since with no success.

That would be the Manhattans I enjoyed at Eleven Madison Park, in NYC.

I tried three different ones, and I don't recall which was my favourite, but I do recall enjoying them immensely. Wonderfully complex and yet subtle blends of flavours, perfectly crafted, I was amazed at how much nuance and variety Manhattans could offer.

The overall experience may have played a part in my enjoyment of them though.

One time I was at a party at a nice bar with the company I was working for at the time.

Everyone was talking about this one drink, which was $30 a pop.

This was it:

I guess it's kind of a girly drink, but I had to try the $30 drink since it was on the company's dime, er, 30 dollars.

It's called a "Fish Bowl" for obvious reasons.

I like a Toasted Almond alot if we are doing girly drinks night.

Baileys-Toasted-Almond.jpg

2 oz amaretto almond liqueur
2 oz Kahlua® coffee liqueur
2 oz light cream

Shake, strain into glass.

Awesome! Oh what are some good drinks to make with butterscoth schnapps? I feel like I could make something tasty with that.

Are you an amaretto fan? I'm Italian so I guess I'm biased :p But I've heard of butterscotch schnapps, amaretto and Bailey's Irish cream (about one ounce of each) is really tasty!

Otherwise just replace the amaretto with two ounces of milk or something :)

As much as I love The Dude, I just can't do alcohol drinks with milk. It just seems mixing something so pure and wholesome as milk with something so debasing as alcohol isn't proper.
I used to be a bartender when that movie came out.
All of a sudden everyone started drinking white Russian.
Soon people realized the problems in binge drinking on cream heavy cocktails (it wasn't a type of place where people sipped and nurse their drinks, and no, it wasn't pretty) so they switched to black Russian, but let's face it, black Russian sucks, so they just went back to drinking vodka.
And everything was right again in the world.

Only experience I have with amaretto was when I tried making a flaming dr pepper. I'll probably end up trying it with both milk and amaretto to see what I like better.

Good call :] You could also apparently replace the amaretto with "Goldschlager® cinnamon schnapps float sambuca". I found that on the internet machine though and haven't tried it personally ;P

One of my favorite local restaurants has a drink with tequila (reposado), st. germain, grapefruit juice, and peach bitters. It's incredibly refreshing and not very sweet at all despite being a "fruity" drink.

I tend to like more craft cocktails, and I'm a sucker for various bitters. My favorite bar is probably Rye in Fells Point. The majority of the drinks on the menu are right up my alley, especially the Rumspringa.

For simple cocktails, a gin rickey, margarita, or dark and stormy are my go-tos.

I'm not too crazy about cinnamon flavor but maybe if I could use it with something I might check it out.

Bye and Bye at the Bye and Bye.

Peach vodka and peach bourbon, lemon, cranberry juice, and soda in a mason jar.

Tastes good and you don't feel ripped off when you go get it at the bar in Portytown.

This is too much. I gotta try it.

The Famous Dave's BBQ chain has moonshine cocktails. The one I've tried, repeatedly, is the best mixed drink I've ever had. It's called Shiner's Punch and it is:

Cherry moonshine
Jim Beam bourbon
Pineapple juice
Maple & Brown sugar molasses syrup

Holy cow, is that a great drink!!!

Go to YouTube and look up TipsyBartender. He makes everything, gives you the directions and makes hot chicks drink the creations.

You're welcome.

Lately I've been ordering Sidecars everywhere I go. It's a classic drink from the 20's, but it's quickly become my favorite cocktail. I now measure every bar by how they make this drink.

I was actually looking for a good youtube channel to help me. I already found this bartender school one. Thanks for this!

My go to drink in the summer is some pastis with some water. I also like to have g and t's as well. The one cocktail I have only had a couple times but loved was a Sazerac.

Any recommendations? I'm curious now.

For drinks?

Well this one isn't rum but I had this the other night and it was excellent:

A key of Superfly vodka, cut with Kahlua and Tuaca, laced with coconut milk, will have you running back for our chocolate coffee crack.

Liqueurs I happen to like for chocolate-y tastes:

Frangelico
Kahlua/Copa de Oro
Creme de Cacao

One of my favorite drinks was mixing Creme de Cacao, Copa de Oro, Frangelico, Vanilla Vodka and milk.

Thanks I'll definitely try some of those liqueurs out.
