In modern US politics, yes. Though a fat lot of good it did at the polls.

Yup. On the weekend before that election, SNL did a sketch called "Dukakis After Dark," where Dukakis, proclaiming that he had no chance of winning, decided to throw a fancy cocktail party with his remaining campaign funds, rather than waste it on actual efforts toward victory.

Surprise, surprise, the OP and most of the thread is left-slanted.

Oh GAF you never disappoint me.
Then post an example of a conservative destroying a liberal.

Geez, I didn't realize the right was so full of whiners.

Preston Brooks beat up Charles Sumner.

p.s.
It would really help if people didn't post blind youtube links.
Kinda hard to see what was posted that way.

And most of conservogaf would rather feel victimized than contribute to the discussion at hand.
And honestly, does it really surprise you that people more fondly remember ownage where they agree with the owning party?

I'll bring up the first Australian example: this guy.

Reid's career was aided by his quick wit and entertaining oratory; he was described as being "perhaps the best platform speaker in the Empire", both amusing and informing to his audiences "who flocked to his election meetings as to popular entertainment". In one particular incident his sense quick wit and affinity for humour were demonstrated when a heckler pointed to his ample paunch and exclaimed "What are you going to call it, George?" to which Reid replied: "If it's a boy, I'll call it after myself. If it's a girl I'll call it Victoria. But if, as I strongly suspect, it's nothing but piss and wind, I'll name it after you."

Um...no one's stopping you or anyone else from posting conservatives owning libruls. An ownage is an ownage.

I swear, y'all right wingers are a bunch of delicate flowers.

Wait, what the fuck, when did I claim I was on the right or from "conservogaf"?

Edit: Fucked up the quote trees.

That first one caused a goddamn scandal over here. Never seen the Belgian people so united in their hatred for one guy. :lol

Dude comes across as a self-righteous prick, though. I won't deny there's some flaws in the Euro project, but he's writing it off as the coming of the Antichrist.
Well he has been pretty much allways laughed at when he has brought up the problems in EU. Not so funny anymore i'd bet.

Well this explains your awful posts in that Huckabee history propaganda thread.

I wouldn't say 'best' because there's nothing good about the brutal method of death, but Cicero's beheading at the order of Octavian was a very important event during the last days of Rome as a Republic.

The best of all land has Pelasgian Argos,
the best horses the Thessalians,
the best women the Lacedamonians.
Those who drink the water of fair Arethusa are better men,
but still better than they those who live between Tiryns and Arcadia rich in flocks:
the Argives in their armor and linen, the goads of war.
But you, men of Aegium, you are neither third nor fourth nor twelfth:
you are not on the list.
Ice cold, Oracle at Delphi. Ice cold.
