No point in going back and forth, we will know everything once E3 hits in May....

I have a feeling that Phil wants to wait to actually show a starfield or elder scrolls 6 trailer and then hit everyone with that "Xbox Console exclusive" tag at the end of the trailer ...... :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Some of you guys really do act like fanboys. I will share the part where he states this but until then, I will let you guys have your fun. :D

I already have an XSX btw. You guys are pretty sad though. lol

Just watched the part where he mentions it. Yeah nothing really to twist here, Games already on other systems will be supported, and contractual obligations will be met, even with 'possible future content for those games' which obviously means possible future dlc for games already out. And all future games, out of contractual obligations, will be PC and Xbox exclusive.
So yeah current games on Playstation will be supported, even with possible future dlc, but anyhting out of currently relresed games, or games where a contract is already in place (like those 2 Bethesda PS5 games), will be PC and Xbox.

I wonder if Starfield will have any PS5 contract already in place.

Great partnership. This year will surely be the year of Xbox. Please don't let me down again Phil. I don't think I can take another heart break.

Can ESO be played alone or is there a party required?
Either way. You can play solo or go through the story with a group. Dungeons and Raids require a group but the game has a great matchmaking system. PVP has open world, instanced and Dueling options. Crafting is robust and most importantly VIABLE in all content.

ESO is one of the best MMOs out right now.

Thank you, sounds interesting.

Its not hard to understand. Only someone in serious denial would think otherwise. Dude straight says the goal of the acquisition was exclusives on platforms that support gamepass.

This is the part where he states (and why I think he is leaving that option open): "...even future titles where we have contractual things or legacy on different platforms that we will go do...", the bolded part in this word for word quote, is what tells me that it will depend on the existing franchises legacy on other platforms. If there is a large enough fanbase, they may release it and they have done this in the past with Minecraft; so I don't see Microsoft ruling that out. I do think that if they did that without bias, it would make Microsofts position on the whole thing a lot stronger.

Now you guys go on and continue your fanboy-shenanigans. Uff. I entered a bee hive or more like a hornets nest.

Good on them for being aggressive, should have done something like this 7 years ago so that we would start to see the fruits of their labor now.

You'll be able to play the fallout 5 on your phone but not on your playstation 5, damn that's petty.
Its not like Sony is running out and spending $7 billion so that Xbox fans can enjoy games lol.

Sony has done everything they can in the past to lock games out of Xbox. That's why I was so confused as to why people thought Xbox would release these games on PlayStation.

Sony brags about how much profits they make on PS4 the past gen. Maybe if Sony opened up the coffers to grab companies like Bethesda they'd have bigger exclusive locks on games.

MS on the other hand probably makes hardly any money on Xbox even going back to Xbox OG. I don't think MS has made much profits at all on Xbox in 20 years, but hey when the company makes $50+ billion per year profits, you can do just about anything.

As some of us has repeated many times, corporations do no set budgets and spending strictly on that division. There is at the end of the day one balance sheet and one income statement to roll up to. The corporate bucket supports all departments, even if it means MS Azure and Office makes the profits to fund Bethesda which was purchased in cash $7.5B.

In the gaming industry, legacy games refer to current products that have been released. So like when a gaming studio says they are going to "legacy" a title, it means they'll support it if it requires patches or updates but they are no longer making content for it. Fallout 3 is a legacy title. They no longer make dlc for it. It is requires some gamefixing patch, they'll do it. But that's it. Legacy does NOT mean, using the Fallout example, that Fallout 6 is a legacy title.

But why would he state that twice? He mentions existing titles that they will continue to support since they have a community and later on goes on to say "...even future titles.."
Either way, I think they will handle that on a case by case but I do understand and feel like I need to repeat this, but yes future new Bethesda games will be Xbox only.

I understand that but he already already addressed that situation before adding the signifier of "...even future titles..."; when you say future titles, you mean future titles.

Really surprised so many people dont know this. Maybe they just dont want to.

I personnaly think Starfield will be one of the games that will be multiplatform, since it is already in development for a long time. I could be wrong, but doesn't make sense otherwise.

I think more unannounced projects could be pure exclusive or "timed". I think they really want to focus on Gamepass.

I personally think you're personally mistaken about Starfield, personally. I'm happy to eat crow if I'm wrong but Starfield is a big game and a new IP. No reason to make it multiplat,

I wonder what he meant when he said, "And even in the future, there might be things that have either contractual things or legacy on different platforms that we'll go do."

Specifically I don't know what he means by legacy on different platforms. For example I could interpret it as Doom and TES games have a legacy/history of being on PS and Nintendo systems so they'll continue doing that like they have with Minecraft and it's offshoots like Minecraft Dungeons, but Starfield doesn't so that would be Xbox exclusive etc.

Totally.

It's not like MS is going to cut off all sales and servers to PS games at midnight. Fallout 4 and Skyrim and Dishonored will still there on the PS Store. They arent going to lock out access to downloaded copies of Doom on a gamer's PS4.

By the sounds of it, PS gamers will have what they got now, existing contracted games and probably some GAAS copies of the next ESO or Fallout 76. That's it.
