I keep trying to read through your posts but your avatar icon keeps distracting me. So if you have a link, share it, that's some serious abs.
Also, Gamepass seems good, Xbox still feels desperate to compete, though. I feel like Sony doesn't really need to try very hard to come across as more interesting.
Lucked into finding her, but it gets easier when you keep following more and more on IG xD. She's
ooohbabybeast .
I look at it all with more positive connotation; not "desperate" more "hungry". Given how the Xbox division was being scaled down during the 2015-2017 period (according to word from multiple people including even Phil Spencer) in terms of allotted funds and budgets, I guess I'd be "desperate" to be more competitive, too.
But ultimately, that's a very good thing. I agree Sony enjoys a cache with gamers due to actually delivering more consistently with their 1P content from 2015 onward, but I don't think they can rest on their laurels to stay desired or competitive. Mainstream gaming tastes can change, business models can become more or less viable due to economic factors outside of the industry, etc. With Sony seemingly scaling back on sheer number of games to focus more on bigger budgets per game, they're taking a calculated risk. If one of those games bombs, it's going to hurt a lot more than it would've in the past, and with the amount of 1P offerings scaling back some it may also mean those games homogenize more in terms of certain game mechanics. On the upside, if those games are a hit, they'll generate even more revenue than in the past.
I think Sony should consider focusing more on IP with viable tie-in to companion content and media pushes that can build out the IP. Films, television shows, merchandise, theme park attractions, animated series etc. They have the media divisions to make most of that possible, but the IP has to be right for it, too. TLOU or Uncharted for example, you can do SOME of that with those IP, but I see more potential in stuff like Astrobot that can be used there more. I hope they also at the very least license out some of their mid-tier IP like Parappa and Tomba (maybe they own Tomba, I can't remember) to independent developers if Sony themselves don't want to or won't be able to develop new installments in those IPs.
