Given her track record, how "unexpected" do you really expect this unexpected sound to be? :p

I'm expecting some kind of Hatsune Miku ft. Britney Spears album with maybe some steel drums, maracas, and a tambourine in the production for the "unexpected" part and some sampled porn audio for "edge" and "comfort."

I'm hoping for an album I'll bop to, though, and my fingers are crossed she delivers it. I'll take something surprising, too. I'll give it a shot no matter what. I just hope it's good.

Okay I have to say this (not to rain on your parade btw) but isn't it interesting how we come to expect musicians to evolve stylistically or change up their aesthetic every so often because of what they find inspiring.... and yet Britney at 34 is still doing the exact same dog-and-pony jailbait Barbie schtick she was doing when she was first placed on the scene by her label in 1998? Isn't it interesting that the only aesthetic Britney can ever claim in her 8,000 years in the pop scene is "hot chick"? The woman has never so much as flirted with dynamically different sounds or looks. She and her team seem to have such a narrow-minded view of her worth as an entertainer, and it shows how incredibly archaic and hollow her brand really is. Like really? A bikini and naked dancers? Do you not grow at all?

Just annoying to see pretty much every major pop girl trying interesting new sounds and looks and taking real risks because that's what's in their hearts... and Britney's still just sitting around being pretty. Fuck outta here with your Millenium Award.

YASSSSS!!! Drag the Drone!!!

I've been saying this for years. She's embarrasing.

Was this one picture any different than what you were expecting from her? Did it surprise you in any way?

It's only a picture from the set. One picture and I can't judge anything yet, but I'm excited to see what she's going to bring, I'll judge when I hear the song. She seems very confident about it, She called this album her baby, and she hasn't called an album her baby since In The Zone. About the sound, she's going for a melodic sound, not your typical pop. Also, There are articles about how her album will be kind of alternative (similar to the Weeknd in some way) I think I have to wait before I pass judgment. Have you listened to Oops, ITZ, Blackout and maybe I would say FF before? Do they sound similar to you? Especially In The Zone.

Also, what do you mean by taking risks when most of the other girls have been doing the exact same thing since their debut?
Britney took big risks with Britney Jean by having another girl record most of the album and it was a catastrophe.

You'll have to ignore Pupi from time to time. I think Aunt Flow is in town and it's making him cunty.
He did not lie though.

Prince was just too good in his labor of making his music hard to get and/or consume. Not that is bad but he was really messy last summer when he removed all his backcatalog from all the popular streaming services and went full TIDAL exclusive.

Camilla's face in this is gif worthy.
She really seems to hate these girls, especially the garden gnome.

Anyway, it's a minor miracle Canola is still in the band, given that this happened:

There's no excuse for this.

Have you guys listened to this alber???

ELDORADO - Ro James

6 songs in and I'm loving it. It's like a mix of Prince, Miguel, and ANTi-Rhat.

Listening to this rn and love it already. I'm not hearing too much Prince, except in Permission, maybe?

So, this infatuation with Grimes is ironic right? I tried listening to her and she sounds like a 12 yo girl that just inhaled some helium and thought it would be a good idea to record an album. This album is considered better than Adele's 25 or Beyonce's 4? I guess I should've known this from the group that thinks Britney and Lorde are better than Daydream era Mariah.

But thats why he got 4+ million in sales and 18 albums in the top 200 instead of 4+ million in streams.

I'm glad to hear about the rumors. I have listened to all of those albums. Oops ran with the heavy mid-tempo anthem pop surge that was happening at the time, which was hardly unexpected. ITZ's sound was pretty much in line with what The Neptunes (and clones) were doing across the pop scene. Blackout hit us right on the cusp of the EDM synth trend and FF came out on the tail end of the dubstep craze. Point being, her range has been as eclectic as radio pop has allowed her to be. No creative risks, no sonic left turns, nothing truly unexpected or fresh. They earned their success and weren't bad albums in the least, but it's proof that wherever pop music "was" at the time, Britney was there and in sync with it. Doesn't show much creative autonomy really.

Also, what do you mean by taking risks when most of the other girls have been doing the exact same thing since their debut?
Britney took big risks with Britney Jean by having another girl record most of the album and it was a catastrophe.

I'm interested to know who you think (on her caliber) has been less creative or eclectic than Britney during her entire career run? And you can't really say Britney Jean was a risk, unless you mean she took a risk by deliberately trying to make a bad album.

Art Angels is just different sounding... That's all lol

She doesn't do it for me

I thought Lorde's debut was good, not amazing, she could do better

Gaga? She started well! all creative and stuff but she kept it the same (looks and sound) until artpop happened and ruined everything. Her jazz era was different but wasn't actually a big risk, however.

You seem to know what everyone in this community looks like lol
Well there was a time where most people here shared pics, twitters , facebooks and instagrams. Surprisingly most guys here are handsome and from different age ranges.

Wait at this revision of history! Britney has usually always been ahead of the curve of where pop music is heading. It's one of the reason BJ got dragged so much because it seemed like it was just tacking on to what was popular at the time.

songs I use from Honeymoon:
Terrence Loves You
Music To Watch Boys To
God Knows I tried
High By The Beach
Freak
Art Deco

And am really I the only Monster (gross) who's not a child here? Sad face

I'm a monster to the point that I defend her jazz endeavors, and I'm an adult.
Pray for me.
