Beyond its nominations, I can confirm that Activision|Blizzard will not be a part of this year’s #TheGameAwards

I'm glad there won't be any other companies or communities participating currently suffering ongoing issues with abuse, harassment, and predatory practices.

While I agree with the overall sentiment these type of comments always stroke me as not being very genuine.

If you really want to make a big bold statement go all the way and call out all the other companies that have similar issues but are still part of the show.

Activision Blizzard is the biggest one yet I believe. If everyone gets under the spotlight, how many will be left?
We know Ubisoft, Insomniac, Activision from recent times, wasn't there something happening at Naughty Dog too awhile back, and at Microsoft just days ago?

There are crappy people everywhere. I honestly don't think it's fair to throw a whole publisher and all their devs under the bus because some rich suit can't keep their dick in their pants or whatever. The event should be about the games.
 
They could criticize publicly Konami for not letting Kojima grab his price but they won't do anything against Activision 🤦‍♂️

If the answer to all of those questions are no, then all other issues are between the company and its employees. A company is entitled to be run by idiots, even if that will most likely result in the downfall of the company. You don't need to drag everything else because there are some idiots womans and/or mans just acting like their idiot selves inside there.
 
Wonder if this also applies to console manufacturers? I mean what if... hypothetically speaking of course, a major console manufacturer and publisher had a class action lawsuit for discrimination go forward against them and evidence came out corroborating it?

Would that means all games published by said publisher or on their console will be boycotted Geoff?
 
Doesn't Ubisoft have ongoing harassment cases currently? Why do they get to participate? This is just stupid virtue signaling on Keighley's part.
 
Only reason this stands is because Vanguard is not vibing with the casuals. If this year was modern warfare the second coming, be prepare to hear all about the coming season pass content cosmetics blah blah.
 
Geoff just letting the cat out of the bag that his show is all about glad-handing corporations and not individuals.

Because lets face it, you can't punish* corps without also sticking it to the thousands they employ, including the victims of the same alleged abuses the pearls are being clutched over.

Although being real, I doubt the people leading the charge on this actually give two shits so long as they have somebody to morally pontificate about!
It is all about their apparent virtuousness after all.
