It doesn't make sense on any economic level.

You pay people with pre-tax money, the only question you need to ask yourself when hiring a person is if that person is going to generate more money than you're paying him, if that person does, you need to hire that person in order to maximize your profits, regardless of the tax rate.

This.

A chain letter is fraud?

You could easily construe that as leaning on your employees for votes i.e. a quid pro quo exchange of 'your job or your vote.'

What a heroic job creator.

Hey, as long as I get my free 12" black and white tv at the end of a mandatory 3 hours sales pitch to buy beach front property in the middle of the desert I'm down with this.

That should be illegal. It's almost like coercing your employees to vote a certain way in order to keep an income. Also, Time Share companies are a waste. South Park did a great episode on them.

And like any good Republican, heavy on rhetoric, sparse on details.

Id love to see his books and judge whether or not he cant "afford" to keep people employed.

I...don't see the issue?

The man is just simply looking out for his employees. More than I can say for my own boss.

Isn't he just saying that if taxes are raised and he's not making enough money he has to cut back on jobs? I don't see it as a threat and I've had to make cutbacks to my own company due to over head and employee wages. It sucks to do but a business can't run on breaking even.

I really do wonder what's going to happen in this country during the next decade or so as more and more events like this go public. Seems like ever week a story comes out like this.

Does anyone else feel like the country has gotten a lot more rude since Obama was elected? Publicly I mean. It's like his election was some sort of pass to do and say this type of thing. I don't know but it seems strange to me. I remember way back when, someone pretty much interrupted the him during a speech and called him a liar. This all doesn't seem very typical.

It was Representative Joe Wilson from SC-2, and he did it during a nationally-televised address by Obama to a joint session of congress.

You say overhead and wages. He says taxes. He's making more money now than he ever did before. His costs wouldn't go up, his taxes would.

“The economy doesn’t currently pose a threat to your job,” Siegel wrote, noting that the company is “the most profitable [it's] ever been.”

That to me doesnt sound like any imposed taxes will lead to them merely breaking even...

It's like what happens in Russia except it's corporations doing it, not the government.

They create most of the jobs.

No, the 1% don't create any of those jobs. The people buying those timeshares are the ones who create those jobs. If nobody was buying those timeshares, David Siegel wouldn't hire a single person to build, maintain, and sell them.

I eat, live, and breathe this company every minute of the day, every day of the week. There is no rest. There is no weekend. There is no happy hour.

You all see that?

He eats, lives, breathes and sexual harasses for his company. Every single minute. Isn't that a fine man?

You know actually if my boss sent anything like this to me I'd think "I got a golden ticket!"

How someone so stupid to let their political views suddenly make them heavily liable is a CEO of a burgeoning company I don't know.

4 points to ronito!

The only thing I really like about the Obama administration, is that it has severely frustrated the bigots and self centered selfish assholes of the world. They are going batshit insane.

The rest of the world is burning, might as well enjoy the show..

Why is that a good thing when they have all the power? I can't live if they decide to take away my job, the rich people are the one's creating the jobs. I'm glad its putting them on watch but if this is the outcome were screwed in the long run.

What?

He's simply saying that any additional financial burdens imposed on him will wind up hurting his employees, and he doesn't want to see that happen.

Do you also happen to get angry at fathers who refuse to buy their spoiled kids ferraris and thousand dollar dresses?
