California tech billionaire and frequent “Shark Tank” guest Chris Sacca showed up at the Richard Rodgers Theatre last Thursday with two tickets he bought on StubHub.

But when a scanner determined the tickets were counterfeit, and he and wife Crystal English were turned away, Sacca began flapping his jaws.

“Do you know who I am?” Sacca thundered repeatedly, according to an eyewitness, a Broadway theater worker who requested anonymity.

“He was getting really angry at the ticket scanner,” the tipster said, and speaking in “a really condescending way. “He said he was a ‘shark’ on ‘Shark Tank’ and warned it wouldn’t be good if they couldn’t get in.”

Unable to calm Sacca, the ticket taker went to get the manager.

The manager “explained the exact same thing, that there’s nothing they could do, this happens to a lot of people and they always tell people to be careful buying tickets second-hand,” the tipster said.

The Post has reported on a rising number of ticket scammers plaguing the red-hot Broadway musical, and on a recent police sting — orchestrated by an online victim — that netted an alleged seller of bogus tickets.

But Sacca “wouldn’t take no for an answer,” the witness said. “He kept making a scene, saying how they had flown from California and it was his birthday.”

After nearly 20 minutes of bickering, the couple left “in a huff.”

Sacca and English have since redirected their ire at StubHub.

“@StubHub @TeamStubHub There isn’t any way to make it up. You keep ruining people’s experiences. It happens. Every. Single. Night,” Sacca tweeted Wednesday.

A StubHub spokesman blamed “seller error,” adding they’ve reached out “to apologize and get him back to a show.”

I'm pretty sure that anyone that has ever worked in any sort of client-facing role will agree with me when I say that the words "do you know who I am" are basically the magic words to make people not want to help you, and in some cases literally just stop helping you immediately. It's as douchey a move as you can muster, right next to telling someone you are correct because "the customer's always right".

Yes, but you buy from other sellers similar to eBay or Craigslist. If you aren't careful though you can get screwed with fakes.

I know it's fun & all to point and laugh at successful people, but I'd be pissed if I had tickets & a date to the hot new show, only to find out at the entrance that they were fake tickets.

Really pissed. But sure, I couldn't say "Do you know who I am?" like an asshole either.

Unfortunately this happens frequently on StubHub. Tickets are electronic. Seller sells the tickets to someone. Buyer prints them out and tries to use them, but by the time they get there they've already been used. Buyer is denied entry.

StubHub really tries to help when this happens though. They'll get you in if there are any tickets left on either their site or at the box office, plus they'll credit you in the amount of the tickets, so you basically go for free. And their customer service is killer. Maybe if Sacca had spoke to someone at StubHub right away they could have resolved it. But instead he takes it out on a ticket scanner who has no control over the fact that the tickets are counterfeit. He''s understandably mad, but it's a dick move.

I'd imagine most people would be very upset if they managed to get tickets to a constantly sold out play only to be told your tickets are counterfeit.

Dude needs to chill. Plenty of billionaires go see Hamilton cuz it's the hottest ticket in town. I'm sure hes the first to fall for fake tickets tho. So he's got that going for him

funny what happens when your money cant buy your way into something lmao and stubhub needs to do a better job at verifying sellers this happens way too much now.

It sucks that hamilton is freaking sold out like crazy it makes no sense like they need to add shows or something.

But it's his own fault. For buying through StubHub. His complaint should be with StubHub, not an employee doing their job correctly.

Really? I would much prefer they transferred the cash into my account. It takes 1 second and I can see the money there on my phone. No risk of counterfeit cash or getting robbed. No way a billionaire can't transfer that type of cash with a phone call to his personal banker.

This is the guy who commented on Ferguson by stating that Michael Brown was "an asshole".

Dude may be an asshat, but I blame TicketMaster and the other major ticket selling companies; more and more recently any major event these days gets instantly sold out on TM due to scalpers/botters which forces people to go to secondhand places like StubHub for scalped tickets. This problem is becoming more and more widespread and AFIAK they really aren't doing much about it. They really need to crack down on this shit and tighten down how many tickets can be sold per card/person/address and add more captchas and try to stem this shit at the source. A few months ago I had a friend buying tickets for a rock concert and he was on TM waiting for the exact second they went on sale, he literally saw the button light up and tried to buy them and boom sold out. Mind you, while a fairly successful rock band this was not for like the biggest band in the world where you would expect an instant sell out. Then he goes on StubHub ten minutes later and there are hundreds of tickets at double the original selling price. It's fucking horseshit.
