EDIT: Misread as the group that denied entry; neutral on the apology in that case, it's fine.
Anyone that uses stubhub deserves no sympathy.
They can buy a boat on a whim though. So it's hard to feel sorry for them. The world is materialistic. That's life.
So are you saying his actions were in any way appropriate? Or not? Because you can be pissed, but don't direct it at the wrong people. If his tickets were counterfeit, why is he entitled to anything at all from the event staff after they've explained to him the situation he's gotten himself into?
And I agree with that last part there, even though it wasn't directed at me. But you have to be a decent human being to be treated like a decent human being. It sounds like he lashed out at someone who didn't have it coming.
He just wanted to be in the room where it happens.
Well sure, doesn't really help in the immediate situation, though.
Rich people are still people.
Dude may be an asshat, but I blame TicketMaster and the other major ticket selling companies; more and more recently any major event these days gets instantly sold out on TM due to scalpers/botters which forces people to go to secondhand places like StubHub for scalped tickets. This problem is becoming more and more widespread and AFIAK they really aren't doing much about it. They really need to crack down on this shit and tighten down how many tickets can be sold per card/person/address and add more captchas and try to stem this shit at the source. A few months ago I had a friend buying tickets for a rock concert and he was on TM waiting for the exact second they went on sale, he literally saw the button light up and tried to buy them and boom sold out. Mind you, while a fairly successful rock band this was not for like the biggest band in the world where you would expect an instant sell out. Then he goes on StubHub ten minutes later and there are hundreds of tickets at double the original selling price. It's fucking horseshit.
He responded on Twitter saying the story that he threw a tantrum was made-up and that he was taking selfies with the ticket-takers/security people.
He was not being creative, should have turned around and paid someone $5K per ticket and called it a day.

said:The NYAG found that on average, only 46% of tickets are reserved for the public. This means a substantial number of tickets are never available to the average fan.
For most popular concerts, over half of tickets are put on “hold” either for industry insiders, such as venues, artists, and promoters, or are set aside for “pre-sale” events for non-public groups. On average, 16% of tickets are allocated to these insiders. “Approximately 38% of tickets to in-demand shows in New York are reserved for select groups of fans and cardholders of major banks and financial institutions, including American Express, Citibank, and Chase,” the report states.
The state of the “fixed game”
My sympathy doesn't hinge on someone's buying power.
Appropriate? No
Understandable? Yes
I'd be furious, as well. Of course he took out his anger on the wrong person.
is Hamilton-the movie coming any time soon, because that's probably the only way I'll get to see it.
Let's see what Hamilton's official website says:
Well would you look at that?
And people who abuse workers for these things are scumbags. Rich or not. When you're rich however, it's obviously significantly worse because while hey you're a person, but you're also a person who has a lot fewer burdens, and thus your willingness to abuse a worker makes you come off as petty and oblivious.
But why be furious at anything when you're a billionaire? That has to be a disorder
He was not being creative, should have turned around and paid someone $5K per ticket and called it a day.
Ok?
Rich people are still people.

Only certain kind of people get furious about trivial matters. And they need intervention.
But whatever, he denies what happened and I actually believe him
Ticketmaster has an axe to grind with Stubhub anyway. Obviously they're going to highlight the possibility of fake tickets even if it's a low probability.

He strikes me as a man who will never be satisfied.
He just wanted to be in the room where it happens.
No better post than replying to someone with "Ok" (apparently the post was not intended to be replied to).
You could just as well have said "I am not able to reply to this."
Wait, so if you flew from across the country to do [insert anything] and then were denied you wouldn't be furious?
I'd be absolutely livid, billionaire or not. It's a waste of time, money, and energy.
I probably wouldn't throw a tantrum but I would be fuming.
He just wanted to be in the room where it happens.
Raises hand.Sounds like a ton of people in this thread don't know who he is.

Why does a billionaire need to go to StubHub lol. Buy real tickets.
^^^ LITERALLY THIS RIGHT HERE. SMH at a billionaire trying to save money on tickets on his birthday. I'd eat extinct dolphin on my birthday served with a side of virgin unicorn but instead this guy tries to save money on tickets.
If I'm alleged billionaire douchebag:
Average Joe and Jane ticket person: This ticket is counterfeit and we cannot let you in.
Me: *turns around
Me: *Offers 50K per ticket to anyone that offers us their tickets*
Average Joe and Jane ticket person: Thank you for your patronage and enjoy the show.
If it was such a big deal why didn't he offer $5k to a couple in the line?
You'd think a big important smart billionaire would know that you'll never get anything acting like a complete douche. Yes that sucks but he couldn't just hop online and buy new tickets and get refunded on the fakes?

Your post didn't have a point, so my response was in kind.
This is correct.
