Graphics/lighting are really nice, although the dynamic lights tend to pass through doors for some reason. I'm also really impressed with the number of NPCs they have in crowds. I'm having some fun with it and I got it fairly cheap but it seems like a game designed to make Derrick want to kill himself. The Instinct Mode is the worst assist mode I've ever seen added to a game. It gives far too much info but your disguises are worthless unless you're using it and you won't know what most buttons/switches do unless it's on.
Max Payne 3 was fucking amazing. No need to be ashamed of that one.
I also really disliked the demo for DD but maybe the full game is different.
The best advice I can give you for Absolution is the disguise system allows for more leeway with guards attacking you, you get 3 or 4 seconds of being in their line of sight instead of 1 second undisguised.
When disguised, sprinting, jogging, or crouching won't make guards anymore suspicious, meaning when disguised you still have to be stealthy and in the shadows. The only stealth rule while disguised is enemy sight lines and how long they focus on you, taking cover while disguised won't phase them, simply find and make your own paths as you go.
Absolution is a blast to play through once you understand the systems in place and how you can manipulate enemy AI.
Also the game never tells you this but once a guard is suspicious and is following you, going over to and using a pamphlet or laptop or whether contextual hiding place there is will make the guard not suspicious anymore, they'll stop following you and go back to where they came.
Im going back to RE6 after Infinite and admittedly from what Ive played so far, I really like it. The fact its so different from its predecessors is what gives it some real charm to me. I know there will undoubtedly be some shit moments coming up though. So far however, I think its pretty damn cool.
MP3 was my GOTY 2012
MP3 was my number 2 last year, if The Walking Dead wasn't so damn good it would've been my number 1.
