Bioshock Infinite |OT| No Gods, Kings, or Irrational Games

RoboPlato

I'd be in the dick
Amazon decided to give me the Premium for the same price asthe standard with free shipping to make up for my order disappearing Unfortunately I won't get it until Wednesday. Extra long wait will be super brutal :(

Does anyone have an idea of what's in the season pass? I typically don't buy them but I love me some Bioshock...

This is from Steam:

More Stories, More Weapons, More Characters. Extend the narrative and adventure with the BioShock Infinite Season Pass.

Get three add-ons for the price of two, plus an instant bonus on Day 1 with The Early Bird Special Pack, only available to Season Pass holders.

The Instant Day 1 bonus pack contains four pieces of exclusive gear, a Machine Gun Damage Upgrade, a Pistol Damage Upgrade, a gold skin for both weapons and five Infusion bottles that allow players to increase their health, their shield durability or their ability to use Vigors by increasing the quantity of Salts they can carry.

Note: All Season Pass content will be available for individual purchase by March 2014.

Note: The instant bonus can only be obtained by purchasing a Season Pass.

I meant specifically - but thank you. The bolded is what worries/interests me - how might they implement it etc. I've not got the game yet (I've got the Songbird Edition coming tomorrow) but I have a bit of cash left over so I might get the SP.

The description is being vague because they don't want to overpromise anything that's still in development. I'm hoping the main game is just training wheels for something grander. A PC exclusive campaign due to technical reasons would make my heart skip a beat, but I'm dreaming.

Anyone on Steam that used a VPN able to look at or otherwise access the achievements? While playing with Steam in offline mode, I can't seem to find them at all. Seems like they won't be activated or tracked while playing in offline mode?

Gamasutra.
Sorry to bother you guys, since I'm sure most folks aren't on my platform...

...but does anyone know if this will be available at midnight on PSN? The original pre-order page on PS Store seemed to suggest that, but I haven't seen it confirmed anywhere...

Thanks.

Ok my VPN disconnected while I was still unpacking.....have the game set to launch immediately though...will I be ok?

Bwaha, i fooled an old guy at the store saying today was the releasedate (The Netherlands).
Updating system software now and then it's Bioshock time :). Reviews got me hyped.

Can't wait to play this. Even thought about using VPN till someone linked the changes to Steam TOS. Oh well I can wait till tomorrow afternoon.

People in this thread are using it, and they seem to be doing fine.

The only reason I'm not using it is because I can't seem to get steam to work when I'm connected to it.

I shouldn't have read the reviews. I'm literally slobbering. Help me keep my expectations in check!

I'm just worried about that part in the Eurogamer (was it Eurogamer?) review where they said it was far more linear than BioShock. Exploration was my favorite part of that game, and if that's gone...

Going on a Bioshock blackout until next week. Getting birthday giftcards on the 31st, and I have a 10$ off discount at futureshop valid in April.

Have fun gentlemen! I will polish my Sharpshooter in the meantime.

having some issues with performance. Sometimes the game hitches, drops 20 FPS, and then heads back up to 60 as if nothing happened. I know my system can handle the game. Its almost like it pauses for a split second... weird. 3570k and 670... anyone know what could be causing the issue?

I'm gonna take the fact that this thread slowed to a crawl as a good sign~

Yep, I imagine everyone's playing now lol

I just posted about this in the performance thread. It jerks the motion every now and then even though the game runs really well

Didn't read any reviews, is 1999 mode better than IGN's description? Does the limited money force you to specialize in all your abilities or just weapons?

Did you update to latest drivers? http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=529440
What about the texture pack?, how big is it?
Shawn says there is no texture pack and the install should be easy peasy. Should be included already.

Someone please fill me on that song used during the launch trailer.

That trailer was pure sex. And the song matched it perfectly.

So wait, now there's no texture pack to download and it's in the pre-load? Then how did we go from 30gb recommended to 15-16 on the actual download?

edit: The screens in the PC performance thread tell me there is no texture pack at all. Those are really bad console quality textures.

This is getting weirder all the time
Oh boy. I am absolutely appalled at the end game here. I had to switch it off because it sucks so fucking bad. From a story, gameplay, performance, everything standpoint.

It's vague. Could be recommended for future DLC or caching. A "just in case" factor...?

edit: Performance thread is analyzing the settings at the moment. There might, just might, be something missing here.

Do we yet know if it's possible to backtrack in any way (as you could in Bioshock 1) or not (as in Bioshock 2)?

I really enjoy knowing I can look for collectables/audiologs or whatever at the endgame.

You can backtrack, but there's barely any encouraging reason to.

Mostly. When you can't you will be told.
