Bizerta: Silent Evil (Survival Horror) announced for Wii U

What was the Wii survival horror came that never came to be? Shadow? Silence? Can't remember, just a few screenshots were released, I think. This is probably never gonna get released either. Cubed3 posts any old shit as news.

Sadness, and a second, completely different set of amateur developers is trying to resurrect the game for some reason, only they don't have any of the assets or design documents and aren't allowed to use the name. Yeah.

I do not usually buy anyhing based on its cover, but that cursed mountain screams "awfully fantastic" i want to play it :)

It got a PC port, too, I think. It's not too bad! Budget RE4 in Tibet, I guess.

It's actually pretty good, and very unique as a horror game. Takes place in the Tibet Mountains, has a good story and tries things away from the staples for horror games. However, it's a bit slow-paced, available for the Wii and PC. You can get the PC version for $10 here: http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-CURMO/cursed-mountain

What really would have been a horrifying game, would be...

"The Hill Residence"

On a serious note, let's see what this turns into. Screenshots don't look too bad, though i doubt those are anything more than concept renders at the moment, not gameplay/in-engine.

Cursed Mountain is ok, but I can only recommend it for the horror nut who has already played all the horror games that are actually good already and is craving for more.

That said, if you're looking for a small schlocky B-tier horror game, I'd recommend Cold Fear above it. The cover certainly doesn't lag behind Cursed Mountain's! :D

At least its better than nothing.
Is it, though?

Is it really?

I like snow. Also seconding the Cold Fear mention.

Resident Hill, a town full of scissor-wielding ghosts seen with a camera, that are BOWs that represent aspects of the player character's psyche.

The developer reached out to me on Twitter. Seems like a cool person. And they are indeed trying a cool survival-horror. I don't have a Wii U, but I wish the game is good.

This thread alone (and the visibility the game will get from this) probably already made the stupid title worthy

Bonus Point: revealed the game on a sunday, an usually slow news day (in which most gafers are resting at home while browsing gaf and saying "nothing new on gaf today...")

The game title sure did make me think..

What are the noise that evil gives?
How silent an evil can be? Creep on you without any sound?

Ok I think too much

I find it sad that everyone is laughing with this game, back in the old days, games like this were applauded for their risk. We should be happy that we are getting another survival horror game in the vein of Extermination, Haunting Ground, Cold Fear, you name it.

man, im happy

Of course the name is funny. Its probably supposed to be, so it can get more attention

ALSO: the developer said something in the line of "I wont say much about the game, because an horror game needs to surprise the player"

And DAMN thats exactly how i feel too!!

Up until now the developer is 10/10 in my book (but there´s a LOT of room for fail yet)

If you think about it every survival horror game has a funny title name: Alone in the Dark, Obscure, Deep Fear, Dino Crisis, Fatal Frame, Cursed Mountain, Escape from Bug Island, Illbleed, Parasite Eve.

Thing is, this game will do poorly when its released. The WII U fans arent jumping on this, you already have that feeling of that game of knowing that it will bomb when its finally available. But that is normal, it happened to a lot of these sleeper Survival horror hits. See the boxart of Cursed Mountain and Cold Fear above, both games sold bad, hence the no sequel to these games.

They are making fun because it's an extremely barebones game with a silly title. If we had more than the genre and some basic screenshots, people might be more receptive. Guy gets asked a bunch of questions in the interview and doesn't give any real information.

I'm all for more survival horror games but everything about this doesn't pass the smell test so far.

Had a small exchange on Twitter this morning with the dev, guess he was just glad someone was talking about it at all.

Then he followed me.

People wouldn't be laughing at "Silent Evil" if it were released earlier.

BUt they're deliberately not giving away too much details so the game remains surprising.

I liked Cold Fear more than I expected, though the ending was a big disappointment. I also consider Cold Fear the final entry in an unofficial series of ocean-based horror games that had way too much in common, Deep Fear, Carrier, and Cold Fear. All three star blonde protagonist with similar costumes who go sea-faring, all have similar sort of tropes they follow, have the exact same ending scenario (plant explosives around the place, then run away as water explodes in), among many other things, and some of the same people worked on all three of them.
