SH1 is good but I don't know if it will adapt as well into a remake like 2 or 3 or even 4 would.

personally I would have done 4 because it's underrated and a gem.

Now if they do 1 & 3 and like a joined extended narrative that could be cool.

I tried RE Village in VR and I didn't even get to the village before it was nope time

I got a bit further into RE 4. Probably 10 minutes further. I think it was chainsaw chap that applied the nope with that one.

I lasted around 20 minutes in Propaganda Hotel.

SH1 is fantastic. They did a good job with SH2, though extending the game and enemy count by so much wasn't really what I needed. But SH1 is long overdue.

Great news as the original desperately need a remake for the modern era (not modern audience mind you).

The closest Silent Hill ever got a remake was on the Wii with Shattered Memories, although its more like a reimagined which I found it to be okay game.

Oh my goodness, I'm so excited about this! After the incredibly well-done remake of SH2, it was a matter of time before they started doing more. SH1, the oldest and technically the weakest of the series, needed a remake the most.

Fantastic news! I ended up playing OG Silent Hill for the first time on ps3 and despite it's age I found it absolutely horrifying due to the thick atmosphere. Bloober did a fantastic job on SH2 so very much looking forward to this.

Great to see survival horror making a comeback in gaming.

Interesting how Konami are taking a different approach to MGS. They've started with the original if you go chronologically. And out of MGS 1/2/3, 3 probably requires the most work.

Hopefully that means a MGS1/2 remake will be cheaper so more likely to happen after Delta.

Sounds good to me. I got SH1 when it came out but I could never get into given how rough the graphics were. (It seemed to me they were trying to do stuff the PSX just wasn't up for.) Maybe if I didn't have a PC(with voodoo) and a Dreamcast maybe it wouldn't have gotten to me.

They did do a good job on SH2, but Konami isn't doing anything. If they're coming back to game development, and will be making new games in the near future, handling a remake is the least they can do.

I'm a bit confused here, you speak as if Silent Hill F isn't coming in September of this year.

It is very playable. Some of the animations are a little rough but it plays better than Origins in my opinion.
