People seem to like it.I'm confused, so is it good or not?
Is Superman in this? If so is it more than just a 2 minute cameo? That's probably the only way I'd watch this movie....best to spoiler tag if someone replies just in case
That seems pretty terrible54% on RottenTomatoes now.
Not good, not terrible.
That seems pretty terrible
There's plenty of brutal kills though, even dismemberment, just no blood fountains.PG 13 BULLSHIT was originally R/18 RATED PUSSIES
Tracking about as I expected given the teasers and trailers. Reading the reviews my fears seem to be founded: they needed a stronger supporting cast. Even just one character. I feel like they needed a bigger, known, charismatic star to play Hawk Man - and they should have portrayed that character like his comics counterpart to act as a foil to Black Adam. Two old warriors out of time, only Hawk Man learned sympathy and fair justice over the course of his many lives, while Adam obviously hasn't. And since Cyclone is basically a completely unknown character, it was the perfect chance to cast a known up and comer to try to attract younger viewers.
Anywho, regardless I am going to see it this weekend. He's one of my favorite characters, and I like the idea of them exploring the middle eastern geopolitics that they dabbled with in JSA and 52.
Hmmm, doesn't sound like something I can take the kid to and I'm not sure it's worth a sitter.
I do love DC so much, their animated division consistently knocks it out of the park, but it's just SO HARD to muster the energy for live action capeshit these days.
This'll hit HBOmax in a month, right? Hmmm, do I keep that service after HotD just for this? Decisions decisions....
Oh wow some of the reviews i read are just horrible .. one was complaining that he wasn’t really of Egyptian descent.. so he wasn’t fit to play the role. then that the story was basically not woke enough because they don’t play up slavery aspect well enough .
Can’t we just agree there are no real reviewers anymore?

That would be the theory. Virtue signaling/aggressive casting diversity as a hedge against negative reviewers getting called out for an -ism.So if it's scoring about 50% ish that means there's no / not enough diversity or spotlighting right?
I usually like the Rock, at least when he is funny. Stuff like that San Adreas quake film though, he can't carry the whole movie in a more serious role. But Baywatch, the Jumanji flicks, that river boat one, the buddy cop F&F spin off, I thought he was a big value add to what otherwise would be a fairly pedestrian experience.I just find the rock insufferable nowadays, and Impossible to find him entertaining.
So it's a pass from me
Which can't be possible. The Rock is black and Pacific islander. So if it's scoring about 50% ish that means there's no / not enough diversity or spotlighting right?

Black Adam is a character almost no one has ever heard of, what did they expect? How they didn't work this into Shazam 2 is beyond me, they got that character somewhat into the public eye, that's his power related nemesis, yet the two films seem completely disconnected. WTF?Deadline reporting that the film looks to opening softer than initially predicted, probably due to the poor reviews.

...which sounds very familiar for a DCEU movie.
A lot of questions for WB if this underperforms. They'd potentially be in a situation where they are relying on Ezra Miller to save the DCEU

I think it's harder to be an action star these days. Movies just don't take the risks they did back when Arnie and Sly were on top. And people didnt have RT or Metacritic so they didn't know they were supposed to hate movies before they went to see them. They went to see explosions and titties and it was just fun.Could be just me but has the rock achieved anything close to action stars like Arnie or Sly? I mean yes, some of his movies make tonnes at the box office but honestly, where is his Rocky? His Rambo First Blood? His Terminator/T2? His Total Recall? Somehow though he is a massive box office draw basically starring in very average to below average films...
