So what's the deal with family name and character name?

Does it actually appear as character(forename), family (surname). Or the other way around? Or is there a different format? I'd want to identify universally for example, as Baleoce. But wouldn't want it to look like my surname.

there's loads of pop in though, but i'll take that for ~50-60 fps for the most part on medium with high textures

Hmm, see that irks me a little. cos it's not my identifier. Which I'd want to be universal. Like say, if I call myself family name (Baleoce) and character name (classname, or some other random name), I don't want to be known by the character name. or at the very least I'd want people to see the family name as well. I guess this is a bit of a foreign concept coming from games like FFXI or XIV where you basically do everything on one character.

characters share knowledge and storage space from what i've read

They also increase your max energy. You'd want to have alts so you can just switch to them and use their energy for stuff when needed.

your gfx card is better than mine, so I think you'll be able to run the game pretty well on medium, slightly high, and maybe high setting even. This IS an mmo though, so the game is very cpu bound, so you might get lag when there's a lot of players around (like forexample at the start area where there is a lot of players clumped up together)

ideally you should've have gotten a trial code, but those are hard to come by, sadly.

I think I already told you, I have the exact same CPU, and inside crowded cities it sucks.

Maybe it's just me, but for comparing, I played the beta with a GTX 460, now I have a GTX 950.

Outside the city, With the 460 I had 30 fps on medium, with the 950 I have 40 fps on very high.

Now, in Velia (pretty crowded town right now) I have 20 fps no matter what settings I choose, and it's also the same 20 fps I had in the beta with the lower fps. So yeah, cities are very CPU bound and our CPUstruggle when there's a lot of people.

Outsides cities are more GPU dependand and it's fairly well optimized. I don't know how an R9 200 compare (should it have another nmber, like, 280 or 290?). I could reach Slightly High with the 460 at 30 fps stable when I OC'ed.

Classes are fixed, need to create alts.

Gotta say a lot of stuff is shared between your character, like your contribution points, house, pets, etc... also, you can switch characters quickly, no need to relog on the server.

Btw, want to say I'm sorry I can't share any code yet. I'm waiting for a couple of close friends to tell me if they want to go in or not, I had to ask them first, hope you understand. If they decline I'll gladly share them here at GAF.

Its a pet class and pretty fun, though supposedly rather bad in endgame.

it's not really a pet class like lets say a hunter from wow

you can summon a pet when you get to level 20, but that pet only lasts for 2/3 mins with 1min cooldown

tamer is more a melee class that has an ability to summon a beast for some time
it's more focused on going in yourself and dealing damage than letting your pet do damage.

Not going to lie... Almost freaked the fuck out. I logged in clicked on Calpheon #1 and saw no characters. I would have been so pissed...

Little did I know, for some reason it had the second server selected and it ALSO has a channel called Calpheon. :/

Nope.

the closest to a pet class is tamer, and I guess you can have a pet out at all times, but really, you have to be active in combat and the pet is not a neccessity at all.

but yeah, no traditional pet class.

Don't waste your time using Naive workers. You sometimes get them as a quest reward. I noticed they were taking 5 times as long to do something compared to other workers. Fired them and got me some skilled and professional workers. Things are going much faster now.

Yes,at the character screen there's a huge black Lion type pet besides you,along with a small cat.

My characters customized appearance shows up on the character select screen but not in game, where it just looks like the default. Is this a known glitch? Any way to fix it? I've tried restarting the game a few times, no luck.

Each class gets an "awakening" weapon, which is to say a new weapon type they can use to attack in combat with.

Warrior gets Greatsword as their awakening weapon, and it's badass as fuck

Go to the website and log into your account. On the account page there should be a list of items you got with your package. There should be a name reservation item and a "Check" button that will tell you.
