Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. My "lunch" is from 1:00 to 2:00am. I've been told that if all you get away with is being cursed/yelled at, to count yourself lucky. I'll probably end up just walking out or not showing up at all. I was dreading, but ultimately okay, with working until 3am because I expected a nightmarish shift and that seemed par for the course. But another six hours added onto that? lol

shintoki, it's 17 hours not counting lunch. yep.

Working on fucking thanksgiving, what the fuckers

Sorry to hear that brandon, I work Black Friday at Target, but really lucked out with my shift. I worm 6 AM to 2:30 PM. I only know of one other person in the store with a similar shift. The rest all work split shifts, meaning they open and they close on Thursday/Friday or work some crazy long shift, like your's.

If I end up going and manage to work the entire thing, there's no fucking way I'll come back in at 4pm.

My shift is/was from 12am to 845am on black friday. And my manager just gave me a notice today that my shift might be moved to 8pm (thanksgiving night) to however the fuck long they want to keep me there. >:(

Check the laws in your state, because they cannot change a posted schedule without a certain amount of notice in many places.

Question regarding the Black Friday sale at Walmart. I'm gonna head down to Seattle Friday morning to do some Black Friday shopping (live in Vancouver, BC, imma Canadian!). What are the chances that I'll be able to find Forza Horizon and NBA 2K13 on the shelves still? I know the sale starts on Thursday night, 8pm... I will probably arrive at the Walmart around noon time 12pm on Friday. Slim chance?

I will be sipping cocoa in my uncles gigantic cabin in Utah ordering a lot of bullshit online.

Can't fucking wait.

So far I've bought:

Prometheus 3D ($14.99)
Cabin in the Woods ($8.00)

I don't know about that. Did black friday last year, a lot of the game deals don't seem to move as fast as you'd think

I'd say it's more like 50/50 or 60/40 chance you'll get it

As a general rule, console bundles go fast, games go pretty slow.

Oh, okay. Thanks for the info guys!

Still can't believe Forza Horizon is $15. It's been less than a month. GODDAMN

Canada needs deals like these...

So no Surface deals other than the stupid touch cover deal right?

I think those prices are only from 8-10pm

As you can see Walmart calls it "Event #1"

Then Event #2 goes from 10-11pm, 3 items Guaranteed Stock + Raincheck is A-OK

Then Event #3 @5am

Best Buy will be your option for games, $5-$10 extra per game, but those prices stay @ those prices throughout the whole day, even into the weekend

Walmart is just doing 2 hour firesale, to get the gamers/hoarders out, then the cheap flippers/tech waiters, then do the real event @5am

Anyone can point to me where there are some nice quality headphones on sale? I want to drop some money on some, have been rocking some really old earphones, and have been kind of sick of using it.

Keep an eye on Amazon, they generally seem to have a bunch of deals every year. Also, if you haven't already, check our forum's headphones thread, inevitably some deals will be posted there, plus everyone in there is awesome to the max.

Really need help on a TV. I don't really know much about tv's but looking for a good lcd or led around 40" for around $500. Any recomendations? One that isn't some door buster would be preferred.

I saw a couple Samsungs that fit around there, just don't know if it's a good choice or deal.

I have a Samsung 43-inch plasma, love it to death, only paid around $500, and that wasn't even a Black Friday deal. If you want to do research, check AVSForum, they have dedicated threads on lots of popular TVs and you will get all the info you want (and then some.) Keep an eye out on deals from Dell, they often have excellent prices (keep an eye on Slickdeals, they get posted up there often), and you can order your TV from the comfort of your home with zero hassle.

Someone was at the Best Buy camping in Lafayette, IN this morning at 8:30...... Are they giving away macbooks for free or what?

There are dopes that have been camped in front of Best Buys since LAST THURSDAY. These people just have zero concept of the value of their own time, ignore them.

Your best bet for a real deal on a Surface RT is in a few months, after the Pro comes out and the RTs are promptly forgotten about.

I walked through Best Buy today they had maybe 150 xbox 360's, if I can't score one online what time would you guess I need to get there to grab one?

I manage a Shoe Carnival and we are doing our first midnight opening ever this year. I'm finally wrapping my mind around how brutal this 11p-1p shift is going to be. My sleep schedule will be completely fucked.

Ugh. Any pointers from those who have done it before?

You'll be so busy it will go by really fast.

Try not to sleep when you get home for as long as possible, and then just sleep until Saturday morning.

I'll be working at Target from 8:30 Thursday night to 5 AM Friday morning. It's going to screw up my sleep schedule. Luckily, I don't have to come back in on Friday, just early at 8 AM on Saturday. Should be interesting to see how it goes.

Energy Drinks

If you can get a nice break, don't eat to heavy!

If you can get small breaks a few Zzzz's won't hurt during the slow downtime hours

The first few hours will be a fucking Tsunami, time will go by hella fast, but you'll feel burned out, use your drink @ least 1+ hour in

Customers come in waves, then ripples, but an aftershock can occur, if other stores run out of shit in your vicinity

Midnight = 3AM > 5AM > 7AM > 10AM > Noon (Stragglers, "Can I get a Rain-Check on those Doorbuster items..." people)

Godfather Collection Blu Ray is $19.99 at Amazon.

I don't know if that's specifically a BF deal but it seems pretty good.

So I think i just saw a commercial for walmart saying they're going to match black friday sales? Can that be right?

I would love to get that Toshiba BB tv there since its a mile away from me instead of 20

I'd say like 3% chance. The local Walmart here was void of all games by 10:30 when the sale started at 10:00pm.

How fast do video game console bundles sell out at places like Best Buy?

Will I need to line up 2 hours before midnight Thursday night to have a chance at getting it, or can I just get there at midnight and pick one up?
I'm interested in picking up the $200 PS3 bundle.

How fast do you have to be to get the more attractive Amazon Lightning Deals? Is it like trying to get Radiohead tickets where they go on sale at 8:00:00 and are sold out at 8:00:01?

I don't have school or work for the next six days, and I can easily be at my computer when the tv deal comes up. Just need to know what I'm dealing with here.

...just watch Amazon? I mean, they even have apps for phones telling who when stuff is up but I mean, if you know the time - which they tell in advance - just get the site and buy within the first 5-10 minutes. There is an indication bar telling you how many have been claimed so gauge off that.

I got the LotR box set at around 10:38A today. I was in the waiting list, but after a minute of "waiting" they updated and said it was available.

Meh, to be fair, we are talking about someone needing to grab something at 1:10P (or some other precise time) on Thanksgiving day. It may be hard to duck out of obligations right at the zero hour for some people, so maybe he's just gauging whether he needs to preemptively extricate himself from other stuff.

I'm aware of that, which is why I said they even have apps for smartphones/tablets. But he also said that he'd be home all day so I took that into account. But the lightning deals are like the regular gold box deals so they will run for specific intervals. I scored a lightning deal off my phone while out and about last year so it's not impossible.

I might be purchasing a used Herman Miller Embody chair that's in great condition for $700. Was wondering if Herman Miller / Steelcase were known for having generous black friday discounts in the past. If so, I may spend a bit more to go for a new one, but $700 used seems like a really good price.
