Black Ops II NDAs lifted - YouTuber impressions

I played BLOPS for 200+ hours on PC and only encountered 2 cheaters in non-admin'd servers, I played in mostly European servers with active admins. But that's just my personal experience.
Had a similar experience in North American servers. I could probably count on one hand how many blatant players I saw.

Yup, tried MW3 during the last free weekend on Steam. Hackers in like 80% of the games I played during that one hour I had the game installed.

MW2 on PC is like that as well. Damn near unplayable a lot of the time. I reinstalled it a few weeks ago. Played two or three matches in different modes and then uninstalled it. First match and I'm automatically maxed level ugh.

I really think everyone should be muted by default as well. I'm not against cursing but damn the mouths on some of these kids and people that are suppose to be adults. This is one of the reasons why I picked the Wii versions over the others first . Even when there was voice chat I did not have put up with this crap. MW2 on the PC, MW3 on the PS3 and the little I played of BO1 on the PS3 were horrible experiences until I muted everyone. I never had voice chat on the PC version of BO (no one used it from what I can tell, just the text chat). Great experience all around (chat, lack of cheaters) there along with the my Wii plays following until hackers hit.

You do realize that since its a free weekend people create suicide accounts to go hack and piss people off, right? Ive never run into cheaters in blops (because there are servers with admins).

Let's just face it, the CoD community is horrible in general, it's rare, I can be in a lobby and not have to mute the scream idiots and 10 year olds on the other team, I mean $hit, by now my entire family, my wife, her family, the dog, the cat, even the ginea pigs have all been "raped" by now. Such a childish, petty and just classless community on the whole. But like most others, I'll keep playing...

Is it bad that I laughed when you included the guinea pig?

The following single-line comments are what I was thinking as I read the op.

•Sprint duration relies on what weapon you hold, with combat knife letting you run the furthest

Excellent!

•The Crossbow shoots faster than in BO. 3 shot clip, it has an Acog, Red dot, thermal and TRIPLESHOT. Fire 3 shots at once.

No complaints!

•Scavenger replenishes all equipment and lethals. Scav packs only drop from non-explosive kills, though.

Logical.

•High scorestreaks are VERY hard to get. If you play for KD, play the objective. You'll look ridiculous with half the score as the OBJ guy.

Finally! Definitely an improvement.

•Recoil. There is significant recoil in Black Ops 2. Gun WILL take skill.

Fine with me. I have skill.

•Sniping is fun, but challenging. The Unscoped Ballista takes A LOT of skill. Will be hard for most snipers to get used to.

As it should be.

•The knife lunge range in #BlackOps2 is HORREBDOUS. You have to be point blank.

Yes, yes, YES. I despise unrealistic knife handling in FPS.

•BlackOps2 has one of the best spawn systems I've seen. Not too quick to flip, never got spawned in front of somebody.

Good to hear.

•Sensitivity: now 1-14. 14 is the same as 10 in previous games. More tiers in-between, allowing you to tune your sens even more.

What exactly is being referred to here? Control sensitivity? Which format is being referenced?

•Some maps are interactive. Cargo has moving shipment crates. Express has a bullet train that runs you over/cuts off spawns. Pretty cool.

Awe-some.

•SMG's suffer a LOT of damage drop off, but are lethal up close. They did a good job catering each gun class to its actual role.

Looking forward to trying them out.

I'll believe these when I see it. ...But unless they have fixed ENEMY AIR CONTROLLED KILLSTREAK IN SKY! AIRSPACE IS TOO CROWDED! KILLSTREAKS KILLSTREAKS KILLSTREAKS! BEEP BOOP BEEP BEEP! they can count me out.

All I want a CoD4.2, why can't you give me that ATVI? :(

Er-Consoles? I thought it was pretty obvious.

Does the PC version not have ranked, dedicated serves? That along with Combat training should ensure it lasts more than a year (unlike MW2 and 3).

Hopefully performance will be better than MW3's.

Free MW3 multiplayer weekend is going on, so I try it a bit and the performance is shit. No smooth 60fps on PC for me. I even put AA, AO, shadows and some other settings off and the framerate is still shit.

I can play all other games I own on the highest with settings with smooth framerates.

If you can't play MW3 at 60... 90fps, then you may want to hold off on Blops 2 until you hear about performance. What kind of setup do you have?

I hope that line about SMG's is true. They were a bit too powerful in MW3 at long range in my opinion. It'll be nice to see them hopefully being used in the way they are meant to be, short-medium range and in close quarters. It just wasn't right that their Higher rate of fire would let them beat out a lot of AR's at long range gun fights.

Can't wait to get back into CoD multiplayer; I haven't played since January.

One thing that I think call of duty desperately needs: a ragdoll physics system akin to Halo. When your eye gets used to repetitive canned death animations the satisfaction level goes way down. Kills are still satisfying, but I think they could be much more so with proper physics. It would be great to see a grenade just make a player fly 20 feet in the air and hit a wall or something.

not sure if serious

He's definitely not, as there is practically 0 recoil.

MW always ran better for me. Never tried 3 on PC but 2 definitely better than blops.

That sounds pretty interesting. I currently play these COD games at 4 (high) but more fine tuning of the sens is always welcome. But...

Looking forward to seeing another shit PS3 port.

Honestly, if they can nail it on PS3, then great. If not, Acti or Treyarch don't deserve my attention.
the jury's out on that version still. PS3 version's of these games and how they turn out are always up in the air until it gets into gamer's hands and you get impressions.

Knifing being a one-hit kill still is a peeve to me, although if it is true that the range has been reduced significantly, that is good news.

Same old shit.

The guns have no fucking recoil, it's pathetic to shoot them. Fuck Call of Duty online, it takes no skill. It's always just who sees each other first.

One thing for people to remember that are trying to judge recoil: remember the guns in Black Ops 1 didn't kick like crazy, but still had a lot more recoil. Something I was reminded of when playing Borderlands 2 for 35+ hours and then going back to Blops. If the recoil follows the same model, then it isn't completely visible in weapon kick. You'd have to truly play the game to be able to judge how the weapon handles.

I agree with black ops 1. It didn't look like in videos that it had a lot of recoil but I thought playing it there was noticeable recoil on a bunch of the guns. Obviously depends on rage/supressor/etc...

Other than Counter-Strike and Rainbow Six, not very many shooters have been able to handle recoil properly.

That's what lead us to shit like Halo and Call of Duty. No fucking recoil, guns feel like shit, no kick, no bang. Unload a million fucking bullets in 2 seconds.

Has anyone who designed Call of Duty shot a fucking rifle before?

It's an arcade type game not a real life simulator.. I love COD..

It's always really bothered me that even after the good moves made in Black Ops and the complete trash that were MW2 and MW3 people still considered IW the "A-Team" of the CoD series.

I have to say I'm really, really impressed at the changes here. Definitely will get the PC version at Christmas.
