Black Ops 7 trailer is the biggest bait and switch I've ever seen

I was liking the premise and finding the setup interesting, only to get hit with COD. Why do all of that? It's COD. It's white bread. We all know how it plays like. We all know what it looks like. Why get our hopes up?

Bleh.

Agreed. "Just one more thing" and proceeds to show the annual release everybody knew was coming and nobody is surprised about. A lame closer to an otherwise decent show.

At first I thought it was maybe a trailer for TES6. Saw the futuristic setting said maybe it's new Perfect Dark gameplay and a release date, but the style didn't check out. Waited with baited breath and when I heard "Menendez," I knew I had been duped.

Very similar to me. I thought it was Perfect Dark at first, then as the trailer went on for some reason I was thinking Splinter Cell. I was so intrigued, and then Black Ops 7 flashes on the screen and I'm like

The live chat was fun to read as everyone was guessing Titanfall, Control, Evil Within only for it to end up as BLOPS7.

I made a guess that it was another COD fairly early on in the trailer but I thought it might be a sequel to Advanced Warfare because the robots looked similar to that game when I watched it. But it disappointed me to see that is another Black Ops. Thinking about it further those robots are possibly similar to the ones in Black Ops 3.

I knew it was cod from the first 5 seconds from the robot design and voice which is the same as infinite warfare

I was relieved it turned out to be Black Ops, as I was thinking they werent going to show it at the showcase at that point.

Who the fuck even makes an annual game into their "1 more thing" game?

No one is waiting with anticipation for a game that comes out yearly.

This just looks fucking stupid. I just can't with COD anymore.

What was once a series I loved and spent hundreds sometimes thousands of hours with has just turned into sci-fi bullshit that makes no fucking sense. Bring back gritty warfare not this bullshit.

Looks good though. Thought it was OD at first.

But yeah CoD isn't your typical one more thing so I get the annoyance. I'll play it though.

I quite like white bread. Especially with peanut butter and jelly!

I thought it looked super interesting. Highlight of the show for me. Yes it's COD, white bread you say, but I like the last two and the last one surprised me with gameplay mechanics I never expected in a COD. This one surprised me with the setup alone so I'm excited to play it. And it's on Gamepass so there is nothing holding me back. White bread can be great too, put it in a toaster and it's always yummy! 🤩

I honestly thought they would end the show with Halo something. That represent that start of xbox more than anything.

Given that MW IV is rumoured to be a full, current/next gen only game (no PS4/X1 version) -- revamped and a bigger step up -- I'd totally be down for a 10 minute gameplay demo of that as the "one more thing" next year. Assuming it truly impresses (even cooler would be to see a preview of how the next-gen version will run on the Xbox "5"). So I'm not against COD being the top billing in and of itself, in the right context it can be a strong finisher.

But this year, a CGI trailer of another cross gen BLOPS that's likely to look and function 98% the same..? Meh... Surely they could've mustered up a little something from Gears E-Day if it's a year out?

You guy ever wonder that most of these big companies aren't interested in making compelling games and that they just want you to give them your money, for as little as possible?

I played COD4 and Future Warfare and they both were the same experience for me. A giant piled of "Meh. It was alright." and never touched a COD game, again.
