So is it safe to assume they won't be making a sequel with hardly anything new a year later? I want to make sure my purchase of CP lasts.
You want to make sure your fighting game purchase last? Well you sure picked a horrible genre.

There is no word or hint on when the next version will be out, but I would assume they would announce something by summer next year if they do. Just know this isn't the final BB game.

Then I guess I have much to learn. I was happy with my Tekken 6 lasting 3 years and VF5 lasting 5 years.

I would prefer it if there isn't an update a year later, but the way I see is with how much I plan on playing, I'll easily get my $60+ worth by then, so I'm not too worried by it.

2d fighters in general that are part of a series tend to get updated at a yearly/semi yearly rate. Unless they are special one time games. See P4A, HnK and so on. Most capcom 2d games get at least 3 updates, and ArcSys updates yearly with their main series. The thing with the BB updates though is only 2 of the updates have not been sequel level updates and one of those two was free.

Nothing wrong with wanting to wait, but if you are interested and are going to be playing the game you will def get your money's worth even if it has a sequel in a year. Im sorta doubting this though as GGXrd is coming out. I'm expecting them to do BBCP->GGXrd ->BB4 ->GGXrd expansion

I know it's still early but do you guys think I should make the OT again for Chronophantasma next year? Anyone else want to have a go at it?

We'll see. I don't know yet if I'm going to buy CP, day one or will wait for its upgrade.

Now, about the revealed box arts, I'm confused. Is this the standard edition or limited edition one?

I'll help with some stuff on it, I have some ideas for it. I just have no putting stuff together ability :p

Edit: That's the standard one. LE always have special art for them not the other way around.

So cj_iwakura wasn't too keen on the Fraternity shirt, so I brought up the initial prize I had, which was the Juubei plush.

Whoever's entered/interested in entering in the tournament, let me know which you would prefer.

I just thought more people would have it, so I went for something that I thought fewer people would have.
Also why I decided to go for he Original Sound Collection for Guilty Gear instead of the Isuka soundtrack, since the former's newer.

Amazing news for you guys!
Mike from Aksys (Magna_Mixalis here) is supporting the cause in a big way!

Now 1st prize is guaranteed this Noel Nendroid!
SihEduv.jpg

And it also looks like Koogy's willing to send out the Fraternity shirt out as well, so we might be able to have multiple prizes!

Well, thanks to Aksys' amazingness, the tournament got even better!
So Mike and Aksys are donating a bunch of BlazBlue goodies to the cause.
So now we're getting 10 Juubei plushes and maybe 10-20 BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma posters!

So now 1st place for BlazBlue is guaranteed the Noel Nendroid, a Juubei plush, and a BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma poster.
If Koogy of Brokentier's ok with it, 2nd place will get the Fraternity shirt, a Juubei plush, and a BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma poster.
3rd place will receieve the Juubei plush and BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma poster.

In addition, Mike said it's ok to spread it across the games, so Persona 4 Arena and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core + winners will also receive a Juubei plush and BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma poster, in addition to the prizes already established!
2nd place finishers in those games are also guaranteed the Juubei plush and BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma poster!

So there'll still be a ton left even after all that, so I don't even know how to distribute them out from there...
Didn't expect this at all, so gonna need some suggestions, cause there are still a bunch.

If you haven't signed up yet, you really need to!

Whoo, a bunch of prizes I'm nowhere near skilled enough to get! :p

I still might sign up for P4A and BB though, the former of which shouldn't be as embarrassing for me.

BTW, does anybody know what's up with CP on Play-Asia? I looked a bit more closely yesterday and noticed there's a $65 and $68 version, and they both appear to be the same. Anybody know if the $68 one comes with anything special, like a CD or different box art? Or maybe one of the listings is unintentional?

One's the Asian release, and one's the Japanese release. The content on disc will be identical, but the Asian release will probably have packaging and/or an instruction slip in Chinese and/or English as well, and may require you to buy the DLC from a different PSN store.

Ah, okay, thanks. I've never imported a game before, so this is all new to me. I'll just get the Japanese version then.

I bought the Asian version of CT because the Japanese was sold out. Let me just warn anyone thinking of doing this that buying DLC is not easy.

Kinda want to play this series again.

I stopped playing around sometime after the CS2 patch and was wondering if Extend was a big enough change; or would it be better saving my cash for CP since it's so close to console release? (I played Rachel in CT/CS if it matters)

What kind of hurdles do you have to go through to get DLC? Obviously an Asian account is a must (I have a Hong Kong account if that works), but is there anything else that makes it difficult?

Also, is there usually an English option for the menus in BB games? If not, I'll just figure it out as I go. I'm really excited for this game and don't want to wait until next year.

You might have difficulties navigating the store and you'll have to buy PSN points from a proxy.

The Asian version lets you put the text in English; the Japanese version does not. I've been importing the Japanese version ever since CT.

I have never bought DLC for BlazBlue (or any game for that matter) so I was never successful, but I distinctly recall trying to buy something simple like skins in CT and finding out that I would need a proxy and an account from another region to do it. If you have a HK account it should work, though.

Thanks for the responses. As long as Arc Sys stays true to their word and doesn't do character DLC, I don't really need to buy anything.

And good to know the Asian version has English. Just switched my pre-order.

The Japanese version still has all of the main menu items in English for some reason (even when the language is set to Japanese) and the submenus generally only demand a basic comprehension of Japanese to navigate. Perhaps I should have mentioned that first...

Randomly picked this up to jump back in after CS. I figure the PAL release will still be...a while.

I was happy to get a pretty steady string of matches online...But so much Hazama. It is like that is it?

So after you set the Asian version to English, are all the menus in English? Sounds like either version will work, but might as well get whichever one is easier.

Good matches. Good in the sense that I can see that you know how to play well while I have no idea what I'm doing.

This is what happens when you take a couple months hiatus. It's like I'm picking up the controller for the first time again.

I have no idea what to use in any given situation so I just end up using random attacks which is of course a terrible idea but I don't have much choice when I'm in the middle of the match having just picked up the game again.

Looks like I need to read some guides.

It makes me nervous that I haven't played about half of the people entering the tournament. I know I'm going to counter pick every Mu with Lambda, but I'm unsure of who I want to "main".

Good matches VanillaCake and cj iwakura

Okay so me and a friend finally decided to play with unlimited characters and how do I play Unlimited Makoto? o.o The removal of her illusion-runs confused the hell out of me D:

Play-Asia.

Yeah. All of the menus are in English. Keep in mind that you may or may not be able to put the voice acting in English, as you could in CT but could not in CS1.

Play Asia lowered the price of BBCP by like $2.50 are you guaranteed the lowest price like Amazon when you buy it, or do you pay the price it says when you say preorder?

Cool, that sounds perfect then. Thanks.

English voices would be preferred, but that's not a big deal for me. I find a lot of the intros amusing (Noel's obsession with Litchi's panda hair ornament especially cracks me up), but I figure I'll hear those when the US version drops to $20 and I get it for the story mode.

Ggs Q, always fun to play you.
GG's never fun to fight Litchi
Salt :D

I completely forgot all my stein placement stuff :lol which is probably what was screwing me the most since mu thrives off it xD

Edit: I want BBCP Mu already though :( she looks so fun

Yeah, I don't particularly like fighting CSEX Litchi either. Once she gets corner knockdown it's over. However, you can be really creative with her so I'll keep playing her until the game's long dead.

I'm really looking forward to CP. CS2 Litchi was awesome and CP Litchi looks like a less corner-oriented version of that.

I actually have no idea how the strategy of Mu's stein placement goes. I'm pretty bad at the Mu matchup and that's probably why.
