where abouts in the forest is that NPC?

Inside the windmill, if you jump out that back window, down to the ledge, you go around the corner and climb the ladder. He's at the top, kneeling over a couple of dead people.

I ended up killing him,
he turned into a giant Werewolf. It was hard fighting him on the roof, so I just ran back into the doorway and whipped his ass with my chain sword.

The... fuck? Spoilers regarding this:

When he grabbed me, I frenzied and he dropped me and I died from the fall.

I forgot about him, found the door later on after doing other shit, and when he picked me up... I didn't fight him right away, that's for sure. I also didn't die.

Frenzy was popping up and instantly disappearing. Glitch on my end maybe.

Noob question. Do you raise your stats in the lanterns just like Souls? If not, then where? I just bought the Hunter gear.

There's an NPC you gotta talk to in the Hunter's Dream like Emerald Herald and Maiden. You gotta kill the first boss.

Can you guys please use spoiler tags? I dont know if I'm in the wrong, but it seems common sense to put some spoilers up for some of these experiences you guys are posting.

Bloodborne > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls >>>>>> Dark Souls II.

That is all.

Wait until the new car scent wears off and then reconsider. There are too many instances in this game that feel setup just to annoy the player instead of actually being challenging. The camera doesn't help matters either. Once you reach
The Unseen City (the real version, not the easy version) and Nightmare of Mensis
the bullshit factor ramps way up.

The lack of weapons doesn't help matters either, and not all are equally good on trash as they are on bosses and vice versa.

Ok, so I'm lost and I didn't want to admit it.

I just beat the Blood Beast in that old town place, and after that I'm kinda lost. A door opened up in the church, but that just lead to a locked door and a basement with a more powerful W.Wolf and a door that led to another small town that was infested with currently OP baggy dudes.

Last major event was me being captured and sent to that prison, but like I said I'm pretty sure that's out of my pay grade right now.

So with as small spoilers as possible, maybe even a cryptic hint, where the hell do I go?

Man, so many people just killed her! D:

I wanted her alive since she is super cool, plus you get way more rewards for doing it like being able to
join her covenant.

Yea, i didnt want to kill her either but i wanted her stuff :P And i didnt want to wait. Yea next run i'll help her out!

I also love the hell out of the Yhar'Gul set.

Go to
that "small town," which is Old Yharnam. Go through it and there's another boss.

The camera alone has been so damn annoying on some of the boss fights. Even without lockon it has this weird hang effect if they get in the way where you run far away without it staying with you.

Just beat the second boss after about 5 tries. What a great feeling.

The feeling of beating bosses in this game is second to none. My first souls game.

Blood-Starved Beast conquered on the fourth try. Awesome fight. Actually, I destroyed him.
Best part of that fight is that it shows how fucking satisfying dash dodging is. Invincible rolling is like, okay, but when BSB does that dash swipe and you just waltz through it it feels so fucking amazing

Ok guys what should I do. I pre ordered earlier but that pre order is showing up as cancelled now for some reason. I still have the funds in my wallet. Should I just purchase it from the PSstore now? It's not like they can try and charge me for the pre-order after it showing up as cancelled right?

Beat the first boss on my 2nd attempt. It wasn't that bad--easy to dodge attacks.

Noob questions: still don't know how to sprint. It says "press left stick and hold down O." I swear I am doing that and I am not sprinting. :(

BEAT BOSS #3! Hell FUCKING yeah. And only on my second try, too! It looks like a pattern is developing. Both boss "Beasts" only took me two tries. Also, I'm getting a hell of a lot better at parrying, basically that entire fight was me parrying and going in for the kill. Took him out at the end with molotovs from a safe distance because I was scared as fuck.

Now to do a little jolly co-op and help some hunters out with the boss I just beat before moving on!

Old Yharnam boss spoilers:
Blood-stained beast was surprisingly easy. I heard a ton of horror stories about it, but all you have to do is quick step left. None of its attacks hit behind it.

Man, waiting like 10 minutes for someone to ring a bell so I can help them.. is it important where I stand? I'm at the grand cathedral right now.

Yup, I was so quick, getting behind him and wailing away. I am getting quite good at this game. I only had to use two vials. This is my first 'Souls' game. Really loving it.

PVP is stupid in this game, IMO. I've done some invasions/getting invaded in the frontier -- and while I'm proud to be 7-0 so far, the fights just weren't fun. healing is so fast, dashing and running are so fast, it's really impossible to stop people from running away and healing. if you actually have a numbing mist (which aren't easy to get, so you can't figure them into your standard pvp setup) and manage to land it, they can easily enough just bolt away.

every pvp fight is just a war of attrition to see who runs out of heals/gets bored first. you hvae to burn through 8 health bars to win.

and since you don't even spawn with potions like with estus in dark souls, if you want to keep pvping you need to go through 4 loading screens to farm and come back.

All of this would be one thing, but it's compounded by the lack of builds and items in the game. every character is essentially the same, being that there are no spells or miracles and very few weapons and no armor or poise. there's no builds to try out and try against other people. everyone's basically the same.
Pretty much. The fast healing is a big problem to me as well, back when it was estus you had a 5 second window for him to chug to get a hit off and stop mid heal. Bolded is also my other concern too.

I feel like the PvP aspect was a secondary thought in Bloodborne from what I've seen so far

won't be as 'deep' and varied, the actual fights could be more satisfactory though with the new mechanics
True. Well see what happens in the long run. I know PVPers like OnlyAfro just got the game so well see where it goes.

I need a 30 minute break. I'm starting to be impatient and I'm screwing up constantly.

I just got a big boss spoiled for me too. I was annoyed at first, but now I don't care, I'm just excited to get to the fight now!

Ok don't judge me. I'm begging for my next lantern. I'm past that first giant bonfire and I see a few avenues to go. I think if I die and have to go back I may just lose it. I'm not built for this.
You won't find a lantern soon but there are many shortcuts you can open that circumvent the giant bonfire area.

Since you'll probably die while looking for them, you should be aware that you can run past all those enemies in the bonfire area and they won't follow you into the next area. Just manage your stamina and plan a good route and you can blast through there. It's definitely a slog when your character is weak.

Do we know anything in regards to potential for DLC?

Seeing as the DaS games gets its share, I am imagining we will see content expansions? How were DaS DLC's anyway? Were they hefty additions of content? DLC? Expansions?

How many chalice dungeons deep do you need to go to start getting armour/weapons?

I'm working through tier 1. Have tier 2 unlocked as well.

Darkbeast Paarl is gonna make me lay down in a fetal position.

This game is so relentless, like it's out to get you and it spares none. The enemies are super agressive, and the game's world is so filled with despair and dread. I fucking love it.

Jury is still out, but if we are talking pure Gameplay and Wold Design.

BB > DkS > DeS > DS2

But for multiplayer, probably the most important aspect for me.

DS2 > DkS > DeS > BB

I need to put in more time, but moving from Soapstone to Bells is so far a huge regression in game design imo.

DaS/DaS2's DLC are often regarded as being even better than the base games.
