So I guess I'm going the right way.

I have been very through in my exploration of central yharnham.

Beat father werewolf, got the old woman to the cathedral, cleared out the area beating the two giants, found the gate that I think I need that 10k item to open, found the lantern in old yharnham.

Have I missed anything big in Central Yharnham?

It's so great. So pleased with this game.
I'm going to have to do a huge backtrack though because I accidentally explored in a direction too soon. Will be fun. Almost ready to take on the 4th boss.
Anyone else playing without ps+? Am I missing a lot of the game without it?
Co-op is an easy to grab some resources.
I have been helped on a few occasions by messages.

Man so much stuff I've missed. Will definitely have to do a second playthrough.

I never even encountered
Eileen or the little girl you guys are mentioning.
Is there some weird condition to meet to encounter them?

Load times are excruciating.
Do what I've been doing. Every death, 10 squats, 10 pushups, 10 abs anything (crunches/situps/bicyles/rolls).

Fucking hell I've been fighting Father G for almost 2.5 hours now. This is insanity. I've never hated a boss in this series so much.

Practice parrying/stunning with your gun until you're good at it. You can do a good bit of damage if you follow it up with a close-up R1 attack.

Oh. You have no idea...

Just a tip, something I did there's a tree and some graves to the right of the entrance. I stood behind them and used R2 charge attack. Fairly simple strat.

Edit:
Found a video

Not using that weapon. :'(

I seriously don't know know why this asshole is giving me such a hassle. I've beaten every damn Souls game. I like them, I love the challenge. This guy is just getting me for some reason.

Back to farming because the healing system went backwards.

People are different, man. For me, the faster gameplay, trick weapons, atmosphere, art and level design beats it in spades.

I love the atmosphere and art. I don't like the choices in gameplay design. I think it's a step back.

Have you talked to
the plague doctor hunter
, found the
saw badge
, and received
the flamethrower
from coughing NPC?

Ok WTF!
so I decide to mess around and farm blood before I move on. I get kidnapped and taken to this place
where these jailer guys are destroying me. Finally take them down only to be met by Paarl some really hard boss. Man i finally find a latern and peace out of there and its a level on the 3rd tombstone.

Anyway, just thought that was pretty rad.

Not sure how people think this is better than dark souls. I just don't see it.

It's not. The Blood Vial/Estus change is a huge step backwards and the lack of a constant supply of armour/weapons does diminish the loot loop a fair bit. In DkS, I was always looking forward to either buying a new set from the blacksmith or finally getting my hands on the sets that the enemes were wearing. Coming across a chest was always hugely exciting. Now, every drop is just blood vials, bullets or useless shards because you only ever upgrade one or two weapons.

And then there's the little things, like not being able to activate a checkpoint without first going to the Hunters Dream. And no fast travel between checkpoints without first going to the Hunters Dream. I mean, you can't even respawn enemies in an area without loading out of where you are when you need to farm for vials. Because you will run out at some point like I did. And that SUCKS.

I think BB is a great game (best on the current gen) but it doesn't quite hold up. For every step forward, there's a step back. The combat is the best it's ever been but there's also less variety. The world design is amazing (as is the wonderfully interconnected intricacy of the level design) and the atmosphere is top notch but I could use a little more variety though. I get why it's all night-time but, other than that one later area, you don't get to see much in the way of a cool new skybox/lighting.

I didn't use axe either, I was using sawblade. I think it works with any weapon? Not sure, worth a shot though.

So I just got through
the poison pit
and came up and out to
the beginning of the game.
Continuing on I found
Iosefka's Clinic
. I never ran into this person to begin with, and now I'm presented with the option to
fight and kill her.
My question is,
since I'm just now finding her, is it too late to make use of the items she gives? Should I fight her or let her live?

it doesn't matter what weapon you use. just like with all Souls games, once you find a weapon with a moveset you like, stick with it and you should do fine.

you should take a break and return later.

Are you talking about
the first hunter you encounter with the feather cape?

I have the
brooch
, I don't remember anyone saying anything about it though.

mid-game npc quest line:

I'm getting some mixed answers googling what to do after killing the pig in the aqueduct and retrieving the white ribbon of the little girl that went missing in Yharnam.

Reading the few things I found online told me you'd get a white ribbon, but for some reason, my game tells me I found a Red Messenger Ribbon. So out of curiosity, I gave it to the sister, which she reacted sadly as if I gave her the white one for some reason, and now she won't respond.

To top it all off, tvtropes (of all places) tells me the white ribbon was a red herring, which made me think there was a different way to finish this subquest than making them cry like giving the little girl the brooch.

Has anyone else done this or have any answers to whether or not there is a right way to do it? I'm sure I can't fix the mistake now, but it sorta left me hanging here.

Oh do tell what part :D

Those giant invisible things that grabbed and killed me before are now visible and perched around the city, and those standard hunter enemies now have no head or arms as they look like blood particles or something, lol.

The enemy designs have been getting progressively more twisted as I go on top of everything else.

Shoutout to adventuring beyond the door that opens in
Cathedral Ward
to find a locked door dead end lol

At least I got some KILLER LOOT, BRAH

In the Cathedral area, I talked to an NPC outside the building that goes down to Old Yarnam. He asked me to cooperate with him and share info. I said yes. Hope that was a good decision. Maybe a covenant later?

Forgot the name.

Combat is much better than Souls. I would find it hard to go back to Souls combat after this.

i haven't seen any other NPCs to talk to around there.

I did the same. No clue on what'll happen yet. If you talk to him again you can "divulge info" which I chose not to do yet, since the notes around him said to be careful. The world is surprisngly NPC scarce though so I was just glad to see a non-hostile face

I don't know why people are struggling on this guy, was literally easier for me to kill than a regular enemy in the same area -
I climbed the ladder as fast as you can, lock on and shoot as fast as you can over and over and over, he will fall off the ledge to his death from the knockbacks, climb down and loot the corpse

Currently getting my ass whooped by BSB though :(

Well the thing was, as soon as I finished climbing the ladder, he just shot me and I fell down to my death. Was so annoyed lol.

I love the atmosphere and art. I don't like the choices in gameplay design. I think it's a step back.

The faster pace and quick-step put the gameplay ahead for me. It's so much more intense and reflex oriented. The trick weapons and their combos is the cherry on top.

They had to distinguish the game and make Bloodborne it's own ting and I am glad they did. Now instead of apples, we have apples and oranges. Who's hungry?

Chalice Dungeon was a bit of a mistake to attempt solo. Was enjoying it for the most part, but it drained all my resources by the third level to where I'll now have to grind for a long while and hope the drops are good to build everything back up before trying to fight VA again.
