Did anyone bother fighting (Yarhagul spoilers ahead)
those 3 hunters? I said fuck it made a mad dash toward the place I knew there be a shortcut.

If you clear the area before them, you can lure them out to fight them one at a time. It's not a problem.

Hit his sides or his butt, make sure you roll in, get one R2 charge off and roll the fuck out. Dont stay there long.
Oh, that's what I did to get him to a sliver. Twice. I've been one-shotted by off screen spiders twice in a row on the last hit. And I finally got someone to join and he promptly ran in and died...

And now the boss spawned in the final phase already shooting meteors...wtf?

I know a lot of people have complained about some of the bosses in this game, but you get a decent amount of variety. Compare that to Dark Souls where you have a lot of just "avoid and hit the strong dude" bosses like all of the Demons (Asylum, Centipede, Taurus, etc). This game has a decent amount of those, but there's also a few gimmick bosses like
Witch of Hemwick, Micolash, Rom, etc.
. I guess that could be seen as a bad thing, and it might not have been completely pulled off, but I think it's fun!

Goddamn, some random dude summoned me. Hadn't even unlocked the shortcut in
forbidden woods
yet. I led him through the ENTIRE are all the way up to the boss. Made sure he encountered every item. And we both beat the boss. Dude must be so happy right about now.
Sounds like a ton of fun!

Sooooo...

...is this a glitch?

I went to this area in the Cathedral Ward that is a tight tight corridor with 3 lit doors and 1 window that you can talk to people inside, the first gave me the Tonsil Stone and then...every other one just repeated the same dialogue that was said when the Stone was given to me. Did my game do something weird?

Or does it change to only that after you beat the 4th boss?

Aaaaaand I think that's the show guys. I'm pretty much my technical restrictions has me defeated indefinitely against the S
hadow of Yharnam

It was fun though, but despite playing at 120%, I'm still dead because it requires such perfectionist play.

That was only one try and I had two left at 50%, but I can't possibly play better than I just did.

You could trying changing the order in which you kill them. That's a variable other than skill that you can change.

I'm having really mixed feelings on bloodborne.
Like 8/10 in comparison to demon/dark (not dark 2 though), which is still like a 9 or a bit higher, but...

I don't know. I would do a write up on it, and I'm kind of curious of the perspective of others who platinumed it and played the other souls games (the game changes drastically from endgame to your platinum), but I fear our responses would kind of be drowned out in this thread.

Quick thoughts:

-the combat is good, but slightly repetitive. It's hard to have lots of variation when theres only one of each weapon+only melee, it kind of reminds me of if monster hunter gave you only your stater weapons.
-It's shorter
-Defiled dungeon singlehandedly makes chalice dungeons a lot less fun
-On that note, chalice dungeons need a major revamp, allowing invasions at any time, or actual variation (it feels very bloated and soul farmy at the moment)
- The game needs some form of respec button, maybe. Because now I'm sitting at 130, what I reasonably needed to be to get my platinum, and I fear PvP isnt going to be doable without completely restarting :/

Anyone have a favorite spot for farming vials? Blasting through Central Yarnham still seems to net the most, but I'm curious what other people do. L
ogarius
has taken quite a toll on my stash of them.

Go to Witch's Abode and kill the guys with the axes. The drop 3 or 4 blood vials and 2000 or so echoes so you can buy some more

Well here you get a lot of "stand under their legs and swing away" bosses so...

It is what it is

Yeah, that's what I'd consider analogous (two of them are even
Cleric Beasts
), and there's definitely at least 4 of them so far for me. But they have different stuff too!

Having a hard time getting Henryk to trigger here at Oedon. I accidentally ran into him, got killed quickly, so I decided to do other stuff but now that I'm back he's nowhere to be found....anybody else have this issue?

I'm under the impression that to summon someone to your co-op you need to be near the lamp. It's only like that that I can summon... when I'm far (like, near the boss area) nothing really happens.

Wohoo got the platinum, after beating the
Queen
.

One of the best games I have played recently.

Amazing art direction, fantastic level design, superb soundtrack and incredibly challenging but in the end very rewarding smile emoticon. FROM did it again.

The chalice dungeons can be incredibly hard, especially the defiled ones but the later layers are quite challenging as well, the enemy placement and traps can be hell.

I have only done the pthumeru ones and one other, can't wait to see the other ones.

Just a bit of info, if anyone is interested, I finished the game Lv116 with 40 30 40 40 10 6

I used Ludwig's +10 and ludwig's rifle +8 and all of this took me 67hours.

Personally I still like
Cathedral Ward
Go straight ahead, up the stairs, killing the 2 white guys. Keep going kill the white guy with the scythe and the other one with the gun. Go up and kill the big white guy. Then go downstairs, kill the 2 (or 1) guy/s down there. You get to a big round area with 2 big white guys sleeping, kill them. Then go back to the lantern.
All the enemies in this area have a decent chance of droppingat least 2 vials. And you get around 8000 echoes which you can use to buy some more vials. Do this twice and you'll have a pretty good amount.
There are other areas early on where enemies drop more vials (second lantern in the game). But you don't get as many souls so it's better to go to cathedral ward and get slightly less vials but more echoes to buy extra vials at Hunters Dream

Big brick guys always drop 2. Giants in the cathedral area also drop them too. Werewolf enemies on the great bridge also sometimes drop 3. So I like to go to central yharnam (2 fat dudes under bridge and one on top along with 2 werewolves) or the cathedral ward. Fat brick guys are guaranteed 2 vial drops though.

Happened to me yesterday and thought it was a glitch. After one death they went back to they usual npc ramblings.

If you are really struggling then just cheese him.
Lure him down to the entrance of the cathedral, wait until he stabs himself....go outside and wait form him to die :)

Yeah, I ended up having to nut up and fight him because the cheese tactics didn't work so I just wrecked him with dodging and occasionally poking him with my threaded cane and Axe in two hand mode R2 charge sweep him before he can get too close.

Anybody main the Stake Driver? I want to know if its a viable weapon when I eventually get it. I think its really cool, I want to go around falcon punching bitches lol.

Oh, other thoughts I also had.
-Loved the level design as always
-Preferred lighter areas as opposed to twisted/dark
(after rom areas)
-disliked how easy the game was, with the exception of the defiled dungeon being too hard for normal balancing.

And no I'm not trying to patronize people, there was no wall for me in the slightest in the main game. The closest I got to this was in cainhurst before I realized how a mechanic worked for 10 minutes
with the sword in the ground
, and I was ahead of where any guide covered these fights :/
And I kept my insight as high as I could for my run (never summoned or intentionally dragged it down or anything)
*sigh* oh well.

I did for awhile, killed second and third bosses with it too. Then I moved on to the hammer because dat charge R2, and later settled on ludwig

When should I kill
Iosefka? She's currently on all fours telling me she's not feeling very well. I want to make sure I get the umbilical cord.

It's weird to see most people having an easy time with D
arkbeast
P
aarl
. I feel like I get hit no matter how I dodge or which way I do it. I've never asked for help so far in the game, but I'm ringing my beckoning bell now. (._. )
