it wont outsell ds2. ill go with 1.8 million, 2m tops. being exclusive doesnt really help it. it could have sold anothe rmillion easily on PC.

2ish million initially. They've clearly tried to make it more appealing to newcommers and the "omg PS exlusor haxor" factor is certainly real. I expect the lifetime sales will be close to 5 million once they include it in console bundles.

3-4 millions or even more.

Seems like this game was more anticipated than even Dark Souls. There are a lot of Souls games by this time and this game seems like is freaking awesome.

It's going to sell a lot

Definitely hard to tell, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was this gen's Oblivion on 360--the first real big adventure that puts the Souls games even more mainstream (as Ob did to ES), simultaneously making those who bought a next gen console feel better, and perhaps making those who haven't bought in have a serious think.

Ok, so not quite perfect analogues, and I'm going more on the sniff test :p

It'll have the benefit of being a big game on a game starved platform.

Most people on GAF have a very different definition of game starved than I do.

Clearly none of these people owned an N64 in the early years.

Is the series any good? I heard it was a very unique FPS game, but I didn't have chance to try it (CoD got all my attention at that time goddamn it).

Resistance 3 is the best FPS of the last gen, seriously. The first was good at the time and the second was a minor disappointment.

Infamous Second Son probably did around 2 million at this point, I'd expect Bloodborne to do at least twice as much.

At the moment it is the killer app for the system( It is the only game until now that is exclusive to the PS4 and well regaded by fans and crititcs)

Heck it is the reason I will use our PS4(usually I play on PC, but we own a Wii U and a PS4).

Though I think some people are still afraid of the high challenge the titel imposses

Seems like the PS4's killer app to me. I'd expect a minimum of 10% of PS4 owners to buy the game, and for that to remain the case as PS4 sales increase.

Early in the life cycle. A bit of a game drought. Very good time for the game to stand out.

Still not sure how the game will resonate with those outside the hardcore though

Based on the series' history I'd say 1 million minimum, maybe it could go to 2 million even.

That was on three systems, no? This game has cut 66% of its platform base by being an exclusive. Probably less than that, as I believe the Souls games have often sold the most on Sony's platforms, anyway.

I think Dark Souls 2 probably sold the most on PC.

With these reviews and thirst for high quality nextgen games, even though this is a hard game I think 2-3 million in the first six months is achievable.

After six months, possibly new DLC packs can possibly increase sales during holiday season.

1.8 - 2.0 Million WW by the end of the year. I think we should expect to see a bunch of used copies exchange hands since it's not for everyone.

Whatever it ends up selling, I honestly don't think FROM could ever expect a better opportunity than what Bloodborne has.

The launch timing, based on competition both on PS4's current line-up and for media attention generally is extremely favourable. Essentially it has nearly 3 completely free months (before Batman crashes the party) to build up critical kudos and audience word of mouth.

Add to that the Dark Souls II remaster giving it a bit of push due to franchise proximity across all platforms... Its got a pretty sweet spot.
