BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

Load times vary based on the situation. Any time player teleports to hunter's dream its relatively quick 5 - 8 seconds. But when teleporting from the hunter's dream into the environment it is a lot longer. When one dies though load times are less than 5 seconds.

Respawning times are most important for me. Good to hear

This is the important one.

Fire appears to be a big deal. Oh he just reached a boss. It animates so well.

Load time after death had not been 5 seconds. More like twenty to thirty for the guy in the stream.

the fur looks awesome. lock-on camera is shit, tho.

Yeah he should turn off lock-on. Was lock on this bad in the other games or is it just this particular area design that's causing the issues?

i think it's the size of the boss coupled with fighting on the narrow bridge that's causing issues. i only played demon's souls like 5 years ago and can't remember if i had issues with the camera.

GUYS, GUYS!

The load times are pretty short when you die.

All is well.

Edit: And yea, lock on + huge enemies has always been a problem in Souls games.

molotov's op

He probably picked one of the origins that has a high arcane stat likely.

Edit: Confirmed his arcane is 14, no wonder the molotovs do that much damage. Eeesh that is a bit OP though, plus molotovs are only 100 echoes. Thats really cheap actually. Not good for pvp, but pve not so bad.

One rumor confirmed false, another true.

False:
You do not need to beat Cleric Demon to level up.

True:
Ringing the Beckoning Bell to summon co-op help consumes Insight. Co-op fans are going to be pissed.

So can anyone tell me if fog gates are back or are they gone completely except for the one that sort of appears during the first boss when you die?

load times are ~15-20 seconds.

35sec (or 45s, I forgot already) from the hub to Yharnam, 15s from Yharnam to the hub.

That seems pretty bad to me honestly....

PS3 load times between areas or being summoned to other game's hosts are around that and are rather slow. I'd would have hoped that PS4 would have cut the load times by at least in half. Not to mention that game is installed on HDD..

Maybe a patch will fix this?

lol how is needing a pretty rare currency to do co-op not so bad?

Well, depends on the rarity. You needed humanity to do co-op in Dark Souls. If its the equivalent, I see no problem with it. Likewise, if it's somewhat rarer, no issue. Now, if its super rare and extremely hard to come across, then maybe.

No you didn't, u just needed to be in human form. You didn't need to spend humanity every time you summoned someone. HUGE difference.

Did you have a problem with needed humanity to co-op in Dark Souls? This sounds really similar.
read above.

That doesn't seem so bad then.

People who want to steamroll the game are going to be in for a rude awakening. Now you can no longer leech off of other players to get through the game.
You'll likely have to either help others in co-op, invade, kill invaders or explore for new bosses to be able to get co-op help often. Even then, if you screw up once that Insight is gone for good.

It's a pretty good way of treating co-op as it is: A temporary tripling of your chances of victory in any fight. Super unbalanced in past games. This is a good way of forcing players to hone their own skills.

For that co-op thing.
If you can gain more by offering your services to co-op, it might not be so bad. Might help lead to more co-op help/etc. Though, on flip side, if you need it and don't have it, might lead to less people asking for help if they can't ask for help

Maybe a patch will fix this?

Impressions have said the frame rate is solid and aliasing isn't too bad, so I'm not sure what the patch would need to improve other than load times. Increased fidelity or not, Bloodborne's optimizations for HDDs should make it snappier than the slow ass last gen Souls games on console. Hell, my PC 5200RPM HDD loads pretty much everything in Dark 1 in less than three seconds.

Really hoping for improvements from the patch.

And you need humanity to reverse hollowing.
And you only go hollow when you die, not when u summon. Like I said in my edit, you don't spend a humanity point for every summon, only to get into human form. If you don't die you don't need to use another humanity to summon again.

Well, yea but one of the ways to be human was to use humanity. I see no issue with this until further details come out. Especially since the details we do have suggest that you gain insight for discoveing bosses (e.g. defeating bosses gives you humanity).
