BLOODBORNE Spoiler Thread (read OP)

This game looks fun but after watching the hitbox.tv streams for the past couple days just a lot of things seem off to me.
The apparent easiness of many of the big bosses, notably the 8 blade wielding Hot Nurse, the randomness of some bosses such as the giant alien boss and the giant abyss in the later level that looks to have an outline of a city that just screams DLC to me. Also there's no magic, reused textures from past games, repetitive environments that seem to get old quickly and the fact that teleports are numerous but yet you have to go through 2 very long loading screens to get to a new location.

I don't have a PS4 and this would be the only game I'd look into one for, but while the game looks fun it also seems like a downgrade from Dark Souls 2 even. I'll see if I can ask my friend who has a PS4 to try it out and see if me playing it will change my mind, but at this point it seems like this will probably be a 7.5/10 game.
I'm hoping that Silent Hills, Tomorrow Children and Kingdom Hearts 3 turn out good cause Bloodborne is not looking to be worth a $500+ investment at this point, and this was supposed to be the system seller for a lot of hardcore gamers.
It's a real shame to be honest, but again I still need to play it and I'm hoping I'm wrong.

Welp, pre-order cancelled!
pffffff, lololol

I'd say get your hands on the game and actually play it. I mean I've put it 8 hours and I didn't want to stop. So while your doing the whole viewpoint from a stream and thoughts, I think most will totally enjoy this game and think it's worth it in the long run.

You liked Assassin's Creed Unity tho.

I love how you're dismissing how much trouble many people are having beating the game, and only focusing on a few people that have had less trouble. Have you seen the chalice dungeon? It's absolutely wrecking people. How about the online? Know anything about possible covenants? Have you tried the combat yourself?

If anything, the streaming has made me more hyped than ever because it's confirmed the game has what I love from the Souls games but with a lot of new cool stuff thrown in and its own flavor.

A lot of this boils down to. You don't know what's going on in the story, thus it must be bad?

Also, call me old school but load times don't bother me, they're a minor inconvenience.

Some questions, I'll spoiler them all just in case:

1.
Is there a respec option, or do you have to make a new character entirely if you eventually want to change your build?

2.
is there a way to change the time of day? I'm guessing all the people behind the doors would be nicer to me if it was daytime?

3.
I gave the little girl her moms red brooch, is there a next step to this? Can I get her to go to the cathedral where its safe or something?

4.
Who else can i get to the safe place, I've only gotten the old lady

5.
I saw some weird void in the place right after the cathedral safe zone thing, it kept popping up after i got some armor (top hat and hunter gear) from a body there. I went into one and it just picked me up and said "frenzy" or something, almost killed me but I had a little health left over, anyone know what is going on there?

Still no general consensus on the difficulty? Harder/easier than DS DkS/2? Watched some more streams today and stuff went pretty well.

Once again, thanks a bunch for the Twitch follows! I'm glad the streaming sorted itself out (my Internet is crappy).

Good night BORNEGAF!

From what I can tell, the difficulty starts high, but you will steamroll later as you upgrade your weapons and stats. Chalice dungeon will, however, keep a difficulty spike in later stages.

I agree about the load times. Some games I care more than others about them, Souls games don't matter so much to me. If anything it gives me a moment to get my thoughts together, usually after a death. And I don't plan on warping all over the place just for fun.

Also very confused about #5 lol

I've seen a lot, A LOT of people waiting games to appear on streams just to watch them and talk shit about them feeling that they have enough experience with the games to be the first on say whatever.

They are eager to say "SEE! I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO BE BAD!"

I think that they don't want to be left out of whatever is the heat of the moment in gaming, even if they don't care about certain games they have to have an opinion and be heard.

Watching streams doesn't tell you how good overall any game is. It may give an idea of what the game play is like but you still have to play it. I would never buy GTA5 if I only watched streams up until this point. Watching people playing the game doesn't even come close to what I've experienced playing myself.

And now you know why so many companies are completely adverse to people streaming games early.

Quick question: should I have a cam while streaming or is that just going to be in the way?

I really hope this a joke. I love the rise of streaming but reviewing game after only watching a stream is fucking stupid.

Anyone watching Mobius/Wingman stream right now? Can someone explain why his health and stamina looks lower than normal and vials don't heal him as much

What the fuck are you going on about? Jesus, lol

Were any of these criticisms of long load times and an easier game experience brought up prior to the release of Dark Souls 1 and 2?

It sounds like you are suffering from confirmation bias. You either can't or don't want to spend $500 on a PS4 for this game, so you watched a stream and decided it's bad and not worth it anyway.

I've watched the early areas in streams and was utterly blown away by the nuance, detail, and amazing asthetic. From everything I can tell from streams it hits every erogenous zone of the dark souls fan.

Different streamers have had wildly different experiences with the bosses, so super difficult, some super easy on the same boss.
