im at the first boss and have gotten the ability to spend blood on stat upgrades. So if that guy allowed you to craft that means I just effectively screwed myself for the rest of the game by killing him. Well, shit.
Although when do you get the option to craft? First time I talked to him when i entered the graveyard he just made random small talk.

Yup! I had no idea haha, I'm terrible at this type of game, and can't figure anything out by myself lol.
I don't think I have any insight at all actually, I don't even know what it does.... I thought it was just used for coop or something. As for the music box I've heard about it, but no idea where it is, someone said you can summon an NPC with the summoning bell to help you with the fight... going to try and fight that today. I really want to beat the cleric beast before taking on father gascoigne though...

im ten hours in and the guy isn't important besides lore, but then again he could become a important npc like some in dark souls. I don't think you need him to use the workbench.

Played for 6 ~ 8 hours during the weekend. Beat 2 bosses (C
and G
), got lost a few times (the areas are freaking huge). Died when trying to kill the m
. He killed me in 3 seconds... I don't think I have any chance of beating him at the moment.
I think the game will take Demon's Souls place as the best Souls game to me. I have absolutely no negative impression of the game.

last night. I am level 23 and this is the third boss I've found. I used up 68+ blood vials across a dozen fights over a few hours.
Pondering my situation afterwards, I figure there's a good chance I'm accidentally sequence breaking. There was at least one other path I avoided because there was a big enemy at the end of it.
Going to go farm vials in central Yharnam, and explore a bit more and then head back in to this crucible with a few more levels worth of hp.

Most likely their consoles are added to an exception list server-side that lets them connect when other machines can't.
That move is not new. She uses that move in the NG too. It annoyed the fuck out of me till I R2 charged her to death.
That boss is quiet easy. You just have to evade to the side all the time in the first phase and attack twice when he's open.
In the second phase you have to dodge and go around him after the first dodge to avoid the second attack - attack twice again.
The third phase can be bitch if you low vitaliy but there is a rune which grants you +100 Poison resistance in another area. I killed him without it.

Nothing stops my Mighty axe! Though I am afraid now certain situations will almost demand a gun

I made a vid of the fight, I messed up a bit with items and such later into the fight but maybe it will help you out, I was about level 20 when I fought it.
I picked up a lot of missed opportunities for damage after watching the fight again:

I love the game, and the challenge but I get frustrated with not being able to play as effectly or good as I want to, I hope to one day be as skilled as the rest of soulsgaf

I am level 46 now, and haven't used a gun at all.
I stopped using it after I got the greatsword, I can't pick up anymore bullets as I have reached my storage limit, rather annoying when I get the error every time I try pick up an item, hopefully they increase the limit on that.

Don't really spend as much time gaming as I used to and don't think I can justify a PS4 just for BB. Totally tempted though lol. Game looks great.

What no? It's not really a local shop, but an online retailer. So you have to write them and email (they answer immediately) and pick the game up.
Interesting! Your fight is just like mine (though I mainly use the axe), except that I get poisoned faster and I might have fewer hit points, I've been putting most in endurance. I have to laugh about this clue your video confirms for me: this is the first Souls boss where the
columns are for the boss's defense, not the players.

Hardly doubt they put in any special code into the original game code for that...I guess they ask for the reviewers ip addresses from which they connect and then let these hosts connect to their servers...

I wonder if this info about a specific covenant that came out some time ago is actually true.

Giant Spider has a covenant. You can 'kidnap' / incapacitate other players during invasions to take them into a dungeon in your own world where you play the boss. Players must escape your dungeon and are unable to leave until defeating the area boss (you, or an AI boss if they return offline / disconnect to escape).
