This post would have been better with your old avatar. I miss it.

I have it on good authority that iPad 5 will be the greatest iPad upon its release. 2014 will be the year of the iPad.
so what are the porn sites that support ipad or phone? Important issue.
Better start getting used to waiting in line while secretly lusting after Samsung devices now, my friend.
One of us...
I'll just use the Galaxy for home where people won't know.
Even when iPads overtake PC shipments from every other company combined, people will still be saying they're 'not real computers'. As if there's a magic ingredient that suddenly makes a computer 'real'. When people are using iPads to replace most of the tasks they used their laptops for, then yes, they're computers. An iPad doesn't need to be a replacement for 100% of the specific things you can do with a desktop OS to be considered a computer.

GOOD NEWS.
NextWorth has re-valued my iPad 2 16GB and is giving me the full amount of $346.50!

Ipad is a real computer. Just like my shitty old android phone is a "real" computer. But do I want to do any type of creation or real computing on it? Fuck no.
Real computing!

I wouldn't trade my Macbook Air for an iPad in a million years, as I do professional design work and need the full power of many desktop suites, but I'm able to look at the big picture and realize what most people use their computers for, and don't project my requirements on the market at large.
These are Apple's mobile computer sales which include macbooks and iPads. It's crystal clear where things are going.

Last I checked computer doesn't equal creation. iPad is a computing platform whether people want to accept it or not, it's geared towards consumption but that doesn't mean that it is any less of a computer. Considering the average consumer does more consumption than creating with a computer, iPad is the ideal tool for many. Hell I love my MBA but I'd be lying if I said that I do a lot of creation on it. What I love about the MBA is the ease at which you can multitask, and tablets are getting better and better at this as time goes on. Jobs said it best, people are getting nervous as tablets slowly supplant traditional pc/macs, it's going to accelerate in the future. Get used to it.
LOL at people who say iPad isn't a computer
anyways, here's a technical question. If iPad 3 remains a dual-core CPU instead of quad-core, will that ensure a smooth transition in terms of app performance? Would apps need to be totally re-written for a quad-core? Would it break current apps? Just curious if the rumored A5X would make the compatibility process a bit easier.
For fucks sake. I said it was a real computer. If you take the time to respond, take the time to actually read the post you are responding to.
You you HONESTLY think there's a chance in hell current apps will be 'broken' by the next iPad? Come on. It will be an ARM chip regardless, of course it won't break anything.
Well, aren't you two just a couple of smug assholes.
Everybody has a different opinion
On what type of nachos are ruling
But we can agree on this one point
That the concept of nachos is awesome and incredible
I don't think anybody was saying that it shouldn't be classified as A computing device, but whether it should be THE ONLY computing device youYeah its a far less capable computer, which is why it is half the price of Apple's low-end Macbook. But to claim it isn't a computer is absurd. Apple markets it as a computer, it used by many people instead of a computer, and all PC sales trackers include it in PC sales. Its not a high-end computer by any means but it is indeed a computer.
It does everything and does them pretty damn well that most people need from a home computer. Most people only need one for internet browsing, social networks, e-mail, and some light document writing. All of which iPad does.
Netbooks, Tablets, Notebooks, & Desktops are all PC's.
I'm pretty sure people have discussed this already but I was just thinking...
If the retina rumours are true, we're gonna have to deal with lots of blurry apps for some time, right?

The laptop form factor is no longer suitable for me. It's not what I want and a poor substitute for an iPad.I don't think anybody was saying that it shouldn't be classified as A computing device, but whether it should be THE ONLY computing device youneedwant. .
Being a tablet, it is not ideal for all situations and tasks. So it would be odd that somebody who is presumably tech-literate would not be able to substitute a laptop or something until the iPad3 is announced.

a retina display iPad 3 will make the Kindle vs iPad argument a little more interesting. I'm certainly looking forward to using the iPad 3 for more e-reading with the higher res display. Much easier on the eyes.
Still though...my wife's Kindle does a great job if you simply want to read books in a variety of settings.
Well text should automatically scale up to retina resolution, but art assets won't look tht great on iPad 3. Devs will update their apps over time but it will probably take six months to a year before the majority of apps are retina native. It took about the same amount of time for Devs to do the same for iPhone apps
didn't know it took so long, I took the plunge into the iOS world after the retina conversion. This is a major bummer. I just hope that the popular devs already have their updates in the pipeline.

I really didn't like reading on the iPad until someone recommended using sepia instead of white for the background. After that there no issue with my eyes getting tired. iPad 3 resolution should help greatly here. I'm excited to read some of my magazines on that incredible display.
An argument against universal retina apps... App sizes are going to be a lot larger than necessary, if, for example, you only have an ipad2. Your app will contain assets for iPhone, iPhone retina, iPad, iPad retina.
Are the assets all separated or organised within the app bundle? Is it possible, say, to have the device only install the assets for that device during installation?

Pretty much most every streaming site will work.
