Looks like Mayweather is going to take the p4p title he's letting Manny borrow on March 13th. :D
Still not definite, fight date might be on May 1 instead.

No one cares bout the Roy Jones Jr Vs Danny Green fight?
That first knockdown punch didn't even look damaging. I know impacts around the ear disrupt your equilibrium but that just looked like a glancing blow. I'm actually somewhat reminded of the knockout punch Glenn Johnson landed against him.

Danny Green has been a solid contender for a while. Hopefully he'll be able to leverage this win into a meaningful fight.

It would be nice to see a Green - Mundine rematch but unfortunately that little bitch ran off to MW when a Kessler rematch was on the cards.

Well if there is one person who can beat floyd its certainly paman. Ive been rooting for his opponents way to long with no satisfaction. Train hard manny, destroy this man.

Vegas, undoubtedly. Other places may try and woo the promoters but no one puts up Vegas cash apart from Vegas.

Looks like the Prescott blow out might have been the best thing to happen to Khan, stepping up in weight has really helped him as well.

Buts still Salita shouldn't have evene been in the same ring

Khan's speed and accuracy are fucking ridiculous.

Freddie Roach - That man can train a fighter.

Roach is a great trainer but Khan always had natural speed.

Prescott blowout made him go to Roach, which has obviously been good for him but Salita was chinny dogshit with a padded record. The way the commentators were going on you'd think Khan was the second coming. Khan is a great fighter until he gets tagged, so let's see him in with a banger again before heaping too much praise upon him.

The post-fight interview made me laugh, Fwanky refusing to be drawn on the whole America issue, then khan basically saying 'America, America, America' :lol

Congratulations to Kevin Mitchell though, his career has been stalling for a while and hopefully this will get him some bigger fights. great performance IMO.

Also, 2010 is going to be a big year for Frankie Gavin, he's our best prospect by far (for quite a few years as well) and I can't wait to see him step up a level.

I hope Cristobal rebounds tonight with a good performance. I quite like him, and think he can be molded into a force with his untapped talent at this stage of his career.

I had some respect for the Nightmare in his futile performance against Dr. Ironfist. But this fight was an embarrassment. He was trying to make a statement, but in reality he's shook. Spirited performance from Minto though. I'd like to see him fight someone in his class.

And the Williams fight was pretty good. Had no problems with him winning the fight, I think he had the slight edge in a relatively close fight, but what the fuck was with the judge who scored it 19-10? :lol

Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez just had one of the best fights of '09.

119-110? No. But at least the right person won the fight. I thought Paul did just enough in the last two rounds to win.

This is the 3rd time I've seen Martinez... he has nothing to be ashamed of.. he gave it has all and early in was easily controlling this fight... he just faded and got just a bit slower so that Paul landed more (not necessarily harder, but more) shots in the later rounds.

lol @ 119-110. What a joke. When you heard that score, you didn't even need to hear the name of the guy who won...

I thought Martinez won the last two rounds... he got the better of that long exchange in the 11th and I thought a couple of hard punches in the 12th won that round for him, but that was really a tossup. He didn't do himself any favors in the 12th when he fell on his ass and looked completely exhausted trying to get up :p

So, I thought Martinez won 7-5. The first round was kind of bizarre, though. I'd be interested to see how the ringside judges scored it, whether they went along with what Harold Lederman said and made it 10-9 or they just called it even with the knockdowns canceling each other out.

While waiting for the official decision, I knew there was no way Martinez would win 7 rounds on multiple cards-- I thought maybe he'd be able to get a draw, but nope. It's always hard to win a decision if you're a guy just catching hard shots here and there against a guy who's constantly applying pressure, even if the pressure guy isn't landing all that much of note. Especially so if you're the underdog opponent with no name recognition against a big name fighter. Also, I wonder, how many punches do the judges not see land because of their vantage point? I think that also helps the busier fighter.

Really good fight, though. At least two of the three judges were actually watching it. 119-110...

Martinez didn't get robbed but he should have got the win, tonight. But Williams did great and is a great fighter. Great match.

Holy shit at Williams vs Martinez. :lol

Fight. of the. Fucking. Year. Whichever judge scored it 119-110 is smoking fucking crack.

Great fight. I can't believe Berto-Mosley is on HBO. That's going to be a great fight.

If the score is on clean, effective punching, I give it to Martinez. The vast majority of "Oh shit" connects were landing on William's mouth. In the replays, Martinez never gets a slow-motion face-rearranging shot.

I don't think Martinez was necessarily robbed, but 119:110 is outrageous. Lots of bad decisions this year.

Probably the fight of the year. Looking forward to II.

I'm personally more surprised by the two close cards than the lop-sided one. Martinez consistently landed the cleaner shots and Williams was consistently more aggressive and consistently landed the greater number of shots. 119 is not reasonable, but I could accept a scored of 117 for either fighter (maybe even 118). That's the way boxing is- different judges look for different things. Still, sucks for Martinez considering the effort he put in, though I scored it for Williams personally.

I would take Williams to win potentially by knockout in a rematch. Williams can train to avoid Martinez's rights, but no amount of training by Martinez can erase Williams' advantages in height, reach, punch volume, and age.

Have they finalized the location for the fight? I saw the list of venues that wanted to host the event.
AFAIK there have not been any reports yet about a decided location. I would love to see this is in an out-door staduim though. If it is in a 20,000 person casino venue, even the cheapest seats are going to be $300+.

Always rember though, nothing is final yet. Many mega fights have gotten this far only to break down due to the egos involved.

Anyone watching a little boxing after dark tonight? The fights so far have been fairly uninteresting. Right now we got Juan Diaz vs. Paul Malignaggi rematch, this one is going to go the distance. Next we got Vitali Klitcschko vs. Kevin Johnson. I know he is going to get destroyed but I gots ta root for a fellow american!

I watched Vic's fight and Bradley-Peterson. I like the Petersons as they have good skills, but the lack of power is always going to be a hindrance. Kind of a love-fest afterwards as these are two very friendly guys.

Paulie's going to win, but part of me wants the decision to go the other way, just for the post-fight interview: it'd be better than the fight.

He lost but acts damn cocky for a loser.:lol
Vitali wants to knock him out, but can't find the open gap.

Was able to catch the Diaz vs Paulie fight and even though I was rooting for baby bull really good fight by Paulie. He could have made it easier and not trade with Juan those last few rounds. Juan has to come back down in weight as he does not belong at the higher weight class. Maybe a rematch with Marquez or Campbell would be better. As for Paulie where does he go from here.

Bradley-Peterson fight was fantastic. It's always great to see to first-class fighters in their prime go at it. What a war of boy shots! Great fight.

Even though he lost, I became of bigger fan Peterson last night. Great in-fighters are always fun to watch.

I expect Fwanky (Khan's promoter) will look to make a fight with the magic man pretty soon for Khan as he's the only light hitting big-ish name out there for Khan. We won't be seeing Khan in with Bradley anytime soon, that's for sure.

Bradley was a beast last night... and I love the Peterson brothers but Lamont ONLY did work on the inside... besides that once Bradley's corner pointed that out, Bradley just kept him at distance. Lamont did nothing to get inside except duck and rush. Nicely executed fight by Bradley.

Paulie... I tell ya if he had power and FOCUSED on his fights from start to finish he'd be something special. As it is he gets the win. Diaz hasn't been the same since Nate Campbell beat the shit outta him.

Kevin Johnson is f'n pitiful. Vic gets another win quickly. I was kinda disappointed I wanted to see him do some work... I don't see Nonito rematching him anytime soon... why should he? Not only that but I'm not exactly sure Nonito CAN beat him again.

Donaire has dropped off the scene a bit since his victory over Vic, maybe a rematch could get him back on track?

He doesn't want blood drawn so close to the fight.

He's willing to piss immediately before and immediatelty after the fight or at any point.

He's willing to draw blood far in advance of the fight and immediately afterward.

So, to solve the issue:

1. Draw blood far in advance.
2. Take piss tests throughout training camp.
3. Take a piss test immediately before the fight.
4. Take a piss test immediately after the fight.
5. Draw blood immediately after the fight.

The only thing missing would be a blood test immediately before the fight. That shouldn't be an issue seeing as how much other testing could be done to rule out PEDs.

If Mayweather wouldn't agree to the above, than he's scared and looking to back out.

Uhh joke post? At the moment, Mayweather is ready to fight and Manny's the one backing out.

It's not like he's requesting anything outrageous or different to what most other athletes have to go through.

Why the fuck is Mayweather the one who has to compromise lest he be accused of being scared?

I repeat, he's good to go as is.

Only a Mayweather hater could manage to turn this ordeal into a Mayweather issue, it's not Mayweather's fault that Manny refuses to take testing that many other prominent athletes are already doing.

And this method of drug testing was present within the contract they both agreed to:

"We agreed to $10 million per pound, or fraction thereof," Schaefer said. "That's what the Pacquiao side wanted and we said OK to that. That's unheard of. We have agreed on everything except for this drug testing issue. I have to think Pacquiao is unaware of this. The drug testing had been part of the contract for a while and then they suddenly said no. I was informed of that [Tuesday] morning. Suddenly they changed course and I don't know why."

If Mayweather would have pulled this shit, people would be foaming at the mouth with rage.

You get all that? Pacquiao doesn't want to have his blood taken too close to the fight, something the USADA and the Olympics require. But this isn't the Olympics, and the USADA has no jurisdiction. This is boxing, which has its own rules in place (in this case, the Nevada State Athletic Commission's). Pacquiao will be tested during the run-up to the fight, and immediately after it — like every other boxer ever.

If Mayweather wants to submit to an extra test for no reason whatsoever, more power to him. But to point to Pacquiao playing by the rules and using that to imply he's cheating? That's just...well, it's boxing, and that's just good old fashioned psychological warfare.
