Para ser sincero, acho que essa coisa de estar feliz com a profissão tem mais a ver com o projeto em que você trabalha. Eu odeio fazer sisteminha de cadastro, por exemplo. Por isso que trabalho com pesquisa. Ganho menos, mas pelo menos tenho chance de fazer algo que eu gosto.

Eu também sou programador mas, como sempre, a paciência e o ânimo pra programar algo depende muito do que é. Eu tenho pavor e ódio por programas que envolvem bancos de dados mas quando estou começando a aprender programação paralela e estou ficando fascinado com isso, embora seja extremamente complicado.


Só que no momento eu trabalho em suporte, o que é um porre insuportável.

Voltando ao assunto português-inglês: num seminário um dia desses na minha faculdade que tive que apresentar eu acabei falando "Eu resto meu caso" (me veio na cabeça "I rest my case") depois de uma certa discussão que teve lá. Eu acabei rindo porque foi muito involuntário. Haha

Felt like sharing. :p

Hey BrazilGAF. I want to learn Brazilian Portuguese as my third language (after English and Japanese). How would I go about this? I want to talk to you guys without using google translate lol.

I dabbled into a few things here and there, but I eventually always leave dude to limited time. I do like the Primsluer program. Thinking about getting back into that again.

Have you tried Duolingo? I often hear it's quite good.

Wow, I always assumed you were brazilian (going by the username :p). Anyway, don't ever feel afraid to ask for translations of what we are talking about dude. :)

And I am afraid I can't help with the learning process. I am not aware of any online portuguese lessons of any sort, much less efficient ones. I can only say that our language is not the easiest one to learn, but then again, if you can speak Japanese, I don't think thats a problem at all. :p

Well, although I can't comment on the program, I heard these are pretty good. I found it linked in an old gaf thread about learning foreign languages, seems like these are official courses given to US Government agents to learn new languages.

I fell bad for my gamer friends who don`t know English very well. They will never play Fallout and other RPGs the it is meant to be played.

The last time I played the Final Fantasy games from the psx era I didn't know a thing about English. I want to replay them now that I will undstant what they say.

Replaying Banjo-Kazooie recently certainly made it a far more interesting game. But I appreciate when companies like Blizzard offer full localization for their titles.

When I was a kid I used to play with a dictionary by my side mainly for games with lots of texts or games where you have specific obectives.

Actually I learned English because of this. I loved RPGs, but since I would not understand stuff, I would often get stuck. With aid of "detonados" (And later GameFAQs since there were few detonados) and Google Translator, I could get an overall vision of what I had to do. The translations were awful, but I still could get the idea of where to go. Subconsciously I would piece the words together, and learn.

I had always avoided RPGs back in the PS1 and early PS2 eras, since the only thing I knew about english was the verb "to be". I hated to use FAQs for the entire game and I never understood how someone could get into a game that they needed a "script" to actually play it.

I only started to play RPGs in the late PS2 era, so I missed a lot of stuff in that genre. And I actually enjoy them since I've recently finished Shin Megami Tensei IV on my 3DS.

I plan to someday (God knows when) play some of the older classics in the genre.

I've never played a Final Fantasy title.

I remember using a dicionary to play games like Silent Hill. Not for the story, but for the damn puzzles. I also translated some dialogs in Final Fantasy when I was stuck.

Good times when I would play an RPG in japanese because I wouldn't understand anything if it was in english anyway.

At least sometimes my cousin was visiting from japan and would translate some stuff.

The console at this price doesn't shows up on search (only by that link), and the page has a question made in 2012 about the launch date. An old page not removed from the server, then (but at least removed from search results).

But aye, at some point they sold it at 9k BRL.
