Just read the AVClub review and this entire TV season I haven't been understanding their reviews. I feel like they'll consistently give As to episodes I think are good and then something like a B+ to an episode that I loved while having pretty much the same content in each review.

EDIT: Yeah, awesome stuff with the scholarship name.

Yeah, I immediately noticed the parallel to Walt and Jesse as partner and Gus and his "brother" as a partner. It's actually quite fascinating and I wonder what precisely that will play into when considering the ultimate conclusion of Gus.

Excellent how they gave Gus motivation and built his past. Gives context to why he's such a cold moutherfucker.

Cartel could have taken the proposition

I know, right.

Gus and Chef gave them what I'd feel, a great opportunity. Something they'd have control of, something that would bring in as much cash as Cocaine, for pretty much all the profit.

Nope, We've got to kill one of you out of principle!

Watching the repeat...
he said the scholarship was named after Max "something" (couldn't make out the name.)
What was Gus's brother's name??

Wow, thinking back to the DEA interview. The "Brother" being the one the scholly is named after. Neat.

Good lord. The Emmys are going to have a mighty tough decision to make for Supporting Actor next year.

#BreakingBad scorecard: Flashback structure didn't do it for me, but man, Gus's interrogation + placing the GPS tracker = incredible TV.

Bleh, but the flashback structure was perfect. Whatever.

Interesting inference that didn't come to me but did come to people like Todd of AV Club: Gus and Max were lovers. Maybe some of you found that obvious but I completely didn't realize it until now.

I was thinking that the entire time. Especially when he thought that they were going to kill him.

I didn't catch that either but that would make the scene a couple of magnitudes more powerful. I'll have to watch it again now.

They thought came into my mind during that scene.

will totally Facebook friend you! *giggle* *LOL*
I went into this episode expecting Gus had to fall, but now I need him to stick around for a LONG time. Like, longerthan Walt. Walt is kind of the worst at this point.

if walt fucked Ted, he would have a good reason like protecting his family from ted's asshole or something. Either that or Ted has a small dick so walt just had to fuck him for the ego boost.

He's hoping each new day will be the day that the bell stops ringing

Waiting for Hector to die. It seems like Gus goes there every now and again to give him news in hopes he'll croak, is what I got from it.

At thought at first I thought that the uncle still had some power within the kartel and could make Gus' problems disappear but after hearing some of the other theories(turturing him by killing his family members and close friends or making him tense about when he's going to die) I don't know what to think.

You guys are blessed that don't pick up on their horrible accents, it's like the Cartel was negotiating with a retard.

Besides that, I really liked the episode. I'm just waiting to see what Walter is going to do. I don't get the Skyler hate. In a way, she's even more cold than Walt. Hmm...I guess I can understand it, I can't stand Rita on Dexter.

So, any theories on Gus's Chilean past? he was obviously someone important or related to someone important. Perhaps the son of a politician or drug kingpin out there?

hmm..

Man, what a damn good episode that was.

Sorry, my spanish is shit. But what did gus say in the beginging when talking to Hector? He said, "This is what comes of blood for blood, Hector." Then says something like, "Songray por songray." No doubt I spelled it wrong, someone tell me what it means?
