I did a rewatch of the whole series these last couple weeks. Does anyone remember when Gus had Walt over for dinner, and he mentions he never got to cook a certain dish because the kids didnt like it? Did Gus ever mention having kids any where else?

I just powered through the 4 seasons in the last month and a half and finally finished today. This show is amazing. Absolutely amazing. The twists and turns that it takes are just so ridiculously awesome. Also Ted's death was so god damn random but funny as hell. Now that I powered through 4 seasons this quick, I don't know how I'm gonna hold out for the next season. I honestly believe that this is a show that everybody should watch. So good.

Glad you like it! Now play the waiting game with the rest of us :(

That is an awesome picture.

I've been marathoning this show again with my girlfriend, and I was thinking last night, with only one more season, it's possible that this show may have a perfect run (imo of course). Even among my other favorite dramas, there are always a few episodes that I don't like as much as others. But I don't think Breaking Bad has ever disappointed me. I even loved Fly. Could it be done?

Finished Season 4 tonight. Absolutely amazing. Loved every second of it, definitely the best season of the 4 in my opinion.

Unfortunately for me, some guy at my work overheard a coworker and I talking about the show and spoiled the part where
Gus gets half his face blown off
(season finale spoiler), so I could see that coming from a mile away. Regardless, fantastic finish.

Can't wait for Season 5!

I just powered through all 4 seasons in about a week, finishing up season 4 a few hours ago. Holy shit at the finale, and what a fantastic season overall, easily the best of the 4 for me. I had watched the first episode of the show a ways back but it didn't hook me, but I made myself keep watching this time around and by the end of S1 I was hooked. I just wish I hadn't broken my rule about only watching finished shows, now I've got to wait with the rest of you.

I'm sure it's overkill at this point given his awards and acclaim, but I'm very impressed with Cranston. Having loved him for so long for his awesome portrayal of Hal, blasting through the series and seeing him delve deeper into the dark side has really given me new respect for him as an actor. Him in his darker moments in his Heisenberg outfit, with the hat and the beard, so awesome.

It's worth noting the Walt was supposed to be co-head of that company I think and that guy also took the girl he was dating.

Overall yea it's stupid to turn the opportunity down but that's a lot of pride to swallow.

The circumstances of his departure have never been clear. But, from dialog I remember, Walt left her, not the other way around. Everything we've seen since suggests, to me, that Walt's pride caused his departure in the first place.

Exactly. I absolutely love how the show has handled it. We saw that scene with Walter and Gretchen at the restaurant and how each one of them had a completely different take on what caused the breakup. We haven't seen the circumstances ourselves, but the show has done such a great job at developing Walt that we have no problem believing Gretchen's side of things.

Yup I just read an old interview with Gilligan where he said that Walt's the best liar in TV or movie history, but only when he is lying to himself. I'm paraphrasing.

I watched the entirety of this series while under a two month ban that very recently ended, so I couldn't ask this at the time, but my wife and I, as much as we love this show, both thought that
Gus walking out of Tio's room with half his fucking face blown off
was incredibly stupid. Are we alone? I avoided the thread for fear of spoilers, so I don't know what the general GAF reaction was.

some people thought it was cheesy, but most people (including a lot of critics) thought it was a fitting way to kill off a character that was almost a super natural villain himself.

Who cares? The plot point was that the trap worked and Gus died. How he died was a choice made for style, something that Breaking Bad has in spades.

I agree, in fact I didn't get it at first, and thought WTF?? he is a robot??

I thought it was perfect. Would you rather
the room just blow up and cut to Walt in the car with the radio playing? That scene glorified the end of a phenomenal character. It made everybody go ''wait a minute'' just a second before it made sense. Scenes like that one are used VERY sparingly in BB and I thought it was handled very tastefully. Walking out in shock is more than plausible. He adjusted his tie because that's typical Gus behavior. He was ready to get back to work. And then death finally took him. Death of a character like Gus deserves to be this memorable.

I think they also wanted to make the death as blatant as possible after the shitstorm Season 3's ending caused. I think Gilligan and his team even came out and said there wasn't supposed to be any speculation on whether Gale died or didn't die at the end of Season 3.

i think it was one of those moments where style overtook rationality. It reminded me of the scene where Bryan Cranston throws the crystal to the ground and theres a massive explosion that seems to mess everyone up but him. I'll suspend my belief because its such a cool moment.

He got screwed, as well. Only difference was he expected it. But yeah, that's still another example of some of these memorable key moments. Don't forget Joker Walt. BB really knows how to give the show a nice touch.

I just finished season 1. loving it. Does it continue to get better?>

Absolutely and without fail. There's one episode late in Season 3 that divides people a little bit (I personally love it, though), but the show manages to not only stay consistent in quality, but get better and better as the seasons progress.

But yeah, get out of the S4 thread until you're caught up. You absolutely don't want to be spoiled.

Still Alive
The GQ cover makes me wonder... will Walt ever return with hair? It's like a different man. Also, I wonder if they'll have any 'prequel' episodes involving Gus, or if the actor (forget the name) is done.
