Breaking Bad - Season 4 - Sundays on AMC

I don't think it's true that Mike doesn't like Walt. I'm pretty sure I even remember him saying explicitly that he likes him, which is why he hates having to do what he does to him.

Anyway he will help Mr. White in his cartel fighting practices.

I think throughout Season 4 there were instances where you could tell Mike had some reservations with Gus's actions. Not to say that he approves of everything Walt's done either.

I don't know what direction they'll take Mike this last season, but it's pretty clear they parked him in Mexico so they didn't have to kill him, what that ultimately means I don't know

He's probably gonna help Walt evade the people seeking revenge for Gus or something along those lines.

I was watching season 2 episode 2 and something caught my attention. After Hank finished the ''catch tuco hell yeah hell yeah'' speech, he walked down to the elevator with Gomez and explained that Walt had gone missing. Gomez then replied with ''You don't think he..''. Hank then just sort of shrugged. And then he went into Walt's car, literally sniffing around and rifling around.

What do you guys think..?

I'm watching Lost for the first time (halfway through Season 1) and all I can think about is how I wish it was as good as Breaking Bad.

I think they were talking about Walt potentially committing suicide.

It really does spoil you for other TV shows, doesn't it?

Wait until you get to seasons 5 and 6. Started to watch Breaking Bad while watching those seasons made me hate LOST with a vengeance.

I think Lost S1-S4 is almost as good as Breaking Bad.

Enjoy what you're watching now, because it will get worse after S4 finale. But it's a special show.

Nah, there's no way they could be suspicious of Walt that early in the show. It's probably health-related, suicide, etc.

Some of the best Lost episodes are up there with breaking bad IMO. But it's no where near as consistent. That is to be expected considering the huge number of episodes they have to write.
Agreed. I never understood the Lost hate (anything that reaches critical mass popularity wise, GAF seems to have a 'slowly but surely' tendency to eventually passionately dislike it), but it's difficult to compare.

I generally favor Breaking Bad as a TV show more.. even though I have a greater desire to go back and re-watch Lost versus BB (since it's still semi-fresh in my brain).

this is true...but seeing how the show ended it was very clear that Lost never had a real goal of what it wanted to be. Some of the episodes or arcs were undoubtedly great but it just wasn't consistent... especially at the end.

Just thinking about that ending puts a sour taste in my mouth. I loved that show to death for what it was, and was so excited for the finale (and the last few episodes). But just one dud after another. Across the sea should have been such an interesting episode... but nope, I was very disappointed but I could look past it. But the finale? I was so hyped for that... and I don't know what they were thinking or who thought that was a good idea, but that was seriously the worst shit I've ever seen.

Compare that to breaking bad, which has a clear goal in mind, everything makes sense, the motives make sense, and so on. So much more consistent and entertaining.

Lost completely imploded in its final season, and the previous season wasn't particularly good either. While it definitely had a plethora of great (and even perfect) episodes throughout S1-S4, the end forever taints the series for me.

IMO the best final season of a show is The Shield's S7, by far. I really hope Breaking Bad manages to offer closure like that season did.

Breaking Bad is obviously a superior show, but Season 1 of LOST is still really good.

You haven't seen anything till you've seen how bad season 5 and 6 are.

I just hate the format of the show, as well as most of the characters. And because I hate most of the characters it bugs me when I KNOW the following episode is going to be all about that character with the flashbacks and all. Some of these people are just so fucking stupid and uninteresting, I don't give a fuck about them now, let alone their past before they crashed on the island. As of now, I only really like Sayid, Jack, and Locke. Everyone else can get fucked with how much they annoy me.

I'm pretty new to dramatic television, always thought I was more of a movie guy, but BB changed that. I mean, prior to BB the only other show I've watched fully was Entourage, lol.

In any way, I absolutely think for sure that Breaking Bad ruined me as far as Television goes. And hearing everyone around me tell me I'm going to hate how they ended Lost, and how it's pretty directionless doesn't excite me at all. I mean, it even seems like they had no idea where they wanted to go in S1 and were writing it episode to episode.

Also, please tell me you find out just WHAT THE FUCK the island IS? Because from everyone I've talked to, they just tell me "get used to not finding anything out. it's just fucked up."

Their are shows better than BB, believe it or not.

I recommend you watch The Shield after LOST because it's pretty fast-paced and tense like BB.

After that slow things down a bit with The Wire or Mad Men.

Yup, I know The Shield and The Wire get tons of love around here. I fully intend on watching The Wire as soon as I finish up Lost.

I might sneak in Twin Peaks in between there somewhere because of how short it is.

Maybe its because people invested a ton of time expecting something and was rewarded with almost nothing... I won't deny the ride was fun, but I honestly can't recommend this show to no one.

BB on the other hand...

Anyway, I am about to start watching the wire and Mad Man, the latter one is intriguing me a lot btw.

As someone who recently finished lost in a 2 month window...I heard the same stuff and wondered why bother....BUT..enjoy the ride and don't expect to figure everything out...it was something nice to watch while I waited for BB...

Now I'm watching My Name is Earl and I was told how that stops without an ending episode..

Seriously? That's ridiculous, tbh. How did we expect it to end, I practically saw it coming tbh. And you only say that about BB because it's ongoing.

If it's ending was incredibly unsatisfying, you honestly wouldn't be able to recommend it to anyone? C'mon..

Lost was always about the big question mark. You get questions, you get answers. I watched every episode with the motivation to get a small fragment or hint to a possible answer for one of the many many questions. It was the main mashine that kept the series going and this addiction was the only reason i accepted the otherwise mediocre writing. But when a show is finished and we get 500 answers out of 1000 questions it is disapointing.

BB is more the in the moment. At least for me. This series lives of one of the best cinematography and prolly the best camera work ive seen on telly. It also thrives on a shier genius of acting (yea except skylar, duh) and although having questions and answers it doesnt disapoint on that topic.

so yea, apples and oranges for me with those two. i wouldnt hate on lost though. even with its gruesome ending and retrospectivly okayish seasons i had a ton of fun on the ride with all those analysis on each episode and whatnot. but that shoe doesnt fit on every foot.

Was just watching S02E10. We see the true birth of monster in Walt. He acts like an idiot towards his son and Hank in the celebration party. It's also the one where he says 'stay out of my territory'. Really recommend you guys to watch it again if you haven't seen it in a while.

When he shaves his head, that's him accepting his new persona. When he has that little fit inside his car, that triggers his first evolutionary stage to Heisenberg mode. SE2E10, he seals the deal.

I think Walt's gonna lose an eye in season 5. I was watching season 3 today and Walt's been playing with that eyeball from the crash. And then foreshadow thoughts. Walt with an eye-patch.

I just assumed the whole eyeball and bear with half-a-face foreshadowed Gus.
