BREAKING: Sony is shutting down Firewalk Studios, the maker of the recent shooter Concord (Update: Neon Koi is also closing)

As fun as the dunking is (please don't stop), I do feel for the people who are out of work and now have to figure out their next paycheck. That's an awful ordeal to go through.

Also don't miss the Concord episode on Secret Level, Amazon Prime's new hit show!

There's an expression in my native Finnish, "yllättyneet käsi ylös". Which means, "those surprised, raise your hands". I won't be raising mine.

I was just thinking yesterday if Sony was going to announce this soon.
If you're happy about this, feel free to thank me.

Shit.
I thought they were just going to retool the game after they took it down. You know, give the studio X amount of time to make it better.

But wow.

But now these people might go and lend their "Talents" to other studios :messenger_grimmacing_
Not with Concord staining their resumes they wont

On the one hand, unsurprising given the game bombed and got pulled and refunded.

On the other, I figured they'd have them make some tweaks and re-launch as a F2P to try and at least recoup some money. It would never be a hit, but there were some people on Podcasts etc. that seemed to really like the gameplay, so as an F2P it may have at least made a little money I'd think.

Maybe they'll hand it off to someone else to make some tweaks and put out a F2P version I suppose.
