Headline should read: ... Opens door to 1 million brown people.
It's just code words at this point.
Oh fuck off.
With everything that has been in the news about Turkey of late you can't be that stupid.

Well I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt that they know that most Turks' are closer to White Mediterranean than Brown Middle Eastern in looks.
Although even those that know what Turks look like will still be afraid b/c Muslim scary, Asian scary, Turk scary.
Honestly being from the ethnic group that is being used in this way has opened my eyes more than ever to what trash the media can be. In the UK many people blindly think they are immune from the kind of media brainwashing that happens, for example (ironically) in Turkey, but it's the same kind of shit.
I have no faith, they dont care and they want to scapegoat.
Yesterday someone was telling me they want to vote Leave as they want to go to war with Syria, and they think the EU is holding us back.
I take it this person is not a soldier or in any risk of being sent over there and puts his life on the line with stupid opinions like that.I have no faith, they dont care and they want to scapegoat.

The EU is seen as responsible for the influx of refugees from Syria. Of which only a tiny arrive in the UK because... it controls its own borders, something a lot of people don't seem to even know for some reason. So there is definitely some of that involved. The people who claim it's racism are daft. Most of the anti EU feeling is about white people and fact is there's an anti feeling towards them based on their economic level - which is the economic argument around uncontrolled migration.
It's might be knee jerk but anyone linking it to some sort of racism against Africans or Muslims are being willfully blind to the argument made for decades now.
Silent majority?
Polls had "No" ahead. The so called silent majority edged up the support. Or do you mean on social media and public? Where the yes camp were notably more vocal.
It was a Marine, which probably explains it. HOO-RAH etc.I take it this person is not a soldier or in any risk of being sent over there and puts his life on the line with stupid opinions like that.
Hasney said:Remain shouldn just say that they're going to let them in to improve the overall quality of kebabs in the country and confuse which Leave voters would want more.
Because Leave voters are all knuckle dragging, kebab chomping morons! Brilliant!
Agreed. This is a pandering view that appeals to nobody and only hurts the Remain side. Everybody knows the concerns about the food safety standards within the take away industry. By voting Leave, we will remove the immigrants who are causing our food ratings to plummet. Less people will need to go thto NHS, which will save us millions.Because Leave voters are all knuckle dragging, kebab chomping morons! Brilliant!
What? I love kebabs and I haven't had a better one thatn the Turkish-owned one in my hometown. It was a joke about how it would make everyone love the Turkish.

I wish I was joking. It's made worse that he is a relation of mine. Why would the UK being in the EU have any effect on what a US marine wants to do?
Or more likely, an entirely fictional story.

It's not so much a silent majority, it's simply the nature of referenda. Late undecideds overwhelmingly break towards the status quo

that effect in essence is worth anything between 2% and 6% for remain. At the moment most polls are showing between 20%-35% of the likely to votes as undecided. That's reasonably high.
never mind the kebabs, there's a little turkish patisserie near me in oxford which does the most heavenly turkish delight known to man, it's sheer decadence
Cowley way? I'm curious.
It's got nothing to do with the colour of people's skin or finding foreign people 'scary'. For many it's a religion/culture issue, and a socioeconomic one. Britain is an increasingly atheistic country and generally quite a tolerant one. The prevailing attitude here is 'live and let live'. We've had our problems but it's getting better.
However, we see the kind of societies that Muslim nations have and we don't want that culture growing here because in many ways their values are not ours. We also see that Muslims here are much more likely to be unemployed than non-Muslims.
With those things in mind, we have to ask: Of what benefit is this to us? Do we want more of it? Is this actually making my country a better place to live? For a lot of people the answer is no.
That said, Turkey is quite liberal compared to other Muslim nations. Shame it's led by an ISIS supporting despot.

What was said in the news about Turkey that is relevant for the fact that 1 mio. Turks would come to UK. Or any number of Turks?
The Turks who will have the wealth/power to be able to migrate to Europe aren't the type that will be religious and will have "European values". Even those of this type that are religious type will be the type that keep it private.
So I don't get the problem really.
Also I don't like Erdogan but he doesn't support ISIS.
Don't me wrong btw, I'm going to vote Leave also lol. But the point is what does the possibility of Turks coming or not have to do with BREXIT. It's quote propagandistic.
That turkey has no chance of joining the EU as it has turned into a crazy dictatorship therefore articles claiming '1 million' will come over are BS and blindly accusing them of racism and 'code word' are equally BS.

Erdogan isn't a dictator. He won the elections fairish and squarish.
He doesn't openly support them, but there is plenty of evidence of complicity with ISIS.
I think many people feel that Turkey joining a European Union is just a bit odd. I mean, it's Turkey. It's like Australia competing in Eurovision, people are like, "Erm, really? Ok this is getting silly now".

You're making it sound like Turkey is joining the European Union.
So did Hitler
They have been looking to join the EU or EEC since 1963. It's not going to happen in the next few decades. Nobody in Europe has anything to win by it. You really think Greece won't veto? Or the Eastern European countries already making a fuss about the few thousand refugees they need to accept? Or Southern Europe that has financial trouble enough and don't want their money going there? There's no chance while Erdogan is at the helm. But once he's out of the picture I expect it will happen.

Former Yugoslavia and Ukraine will probably join before Turkey. Not that I fully agree with a quick joining of those countries, but Turkey joining is a non-issue, seriously.

Constantinople was the centre of European culture for hundreds of years. Turkey has as much right to be part of the European Union as Cyprus or Malta.
You may be right the Eastern Europeans, but I think that the major EU leaders see Turkey's accession to the EU as a major geopolitical advantage. And they would be right, in my opinion.
I accept it is possible Turkey's membership could be put on ice so as to prevent the former Eastern bloc from destabilising the EU.
Juncker didn't HAHAHAHAHA
A British royal marine maybe?
So seen a newspaper report saying Osborne said the following:
£40bn black hole in public finances.
£1.5bn Armed Forces cuts.
Is this true or more fear?

They avoid the 'marine' connotations due to it's media links with the US service calling them that and the US Marine phrase/stereotype of 'HOO-RAH', will probably result in considerable injury. In my experience they are more educated politically savvy RN types and probably the last people who would want to rush head long into a war against a random country. They also work very closely with EU forces typically being the spearhead of exercises like Joint Warrior.
Given Chinners long history of Sarcasm, shit posting and trolling I'm going with the little story being a fabrication.
I don't know, the country is making a potentially catastrophic decision and the fuckers can't put down the vimto for five minutes to find out what the leader of the opposition thinks.
