to sell the info?
he showed the telegram where they are selling the users info, and the pictures are all from PS admin with all the details

Do you trust Playstation or a random guy on the internet? He's definitely lying here.

Just read a bit more about the guy... he himself shared his account informations in the past so people could trophy farm for him...

I think it's more of a case of: he f*cked up and he's trying to pass the blame on Sony.

Likely pissed off someone who he shared with and they grabbed his info when they logged back on. I know there were rumors back then he was paying people early on to farm trophies for him.

Another L for digital gaming. I had my WoW account stolen years ago and they stole all my gold. I got my account back and never got the gold. So I quit playing.
If they want the community to believe it's unsolvable then they're taking them for granted, any modern theif associate himself with security flaws wants to take the community for granted and make them believe it's a messy situation, I'm sorry but this is old-school stuff and fits with one of Sony's flaws perfectly.

What is the microneuronal comparison of a caveman with the mistakes of Hermen Hulst?

Answer gpt = That's quite an interesting question! Comparing the neuronal development of a caveman with the mistakes of Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, is a unique reflection. Let's break it down.

Cavemen, while not as advanced in terms of complex brain functions as we are today, already had basic brain structures that allowed for essential survival skills, like hunting, tool-making, and forming basic social structures. Their neural networks were more geared toward rapid, straightforward responses in a hostile environment, with little room for "strategic" errors like those we might see from Hulst.

Hermen Hulst, on the other hand, operates in a world of complex decision-making around developing and managing games and entertainment content in an ultra-competitive industry. Hulst’s errors could be thought of as more "strategic missteps" rather than neuronal errors. For instance, if he made a questionable decision regarding a major PlayStation IP, it would be more a failure of strategy or vision than a survival or reactionary error.

In short, a caveman’s mistakes would be quickly corrected to survive the moment, whereas Hulst’s mistakes are more about strategic foresight in a highly advanced neural network, without putting direct survival at risk. Interesting comparison!

I say this many times.

Never invest too much time, effort and emotions on something you can't control.

See how easy it is for someone to just ruin it for you in the online world. Because that information is stored in a server you have zero control over.

You invest all that time and effort based on trust of a third party alone. This is the main reason i never cared about trophies or any other achievement stored online. I treat all my online stuff, even my small STEAM games collection, as temporary belongings.

I wonder if he had MFA enabled. That’s kind of embarrassing if he didn’t since he’s won so many awards.

I meet doctors and lawyers with simple passwords with no MFA and they wonder why they got hacked.

Forget passwords, go with pass phrases instead. Hackers can find your dogs name or whatever you put somewhere else online, so never make it a personal password either.

These kind of trophy farm accounts are 100 % account sharing and playing with the lines of the TOS. There is absolutely no way for one man alone to keep up with the "competition". While Sony doesn't generally ban for that, they do ban for hacked trophies, or accessing PSN with hacked firmware (which can in turn enable in-game cheats and/or trophy unlocks). The more shadier trophy farm accounts will do that as long as they can get away with it.

Brother most likely shared the account with a farmer who plugged in a CFW console or hacked some trophies, and got hit with an autoban, and made up the story to cover up that he f'd around and found out - of course you can't admit to what happened, because you'd lose all those fancy Guinness records due to cheating.

This
I worked in a environment that was like playstation accounts called ntl now virgin media and it was like a fking bank vault walking into jail
It was like they was searching for drugs on us at times
No cams no electronic no pens no nothing
I even had to fight for my underwear at some points
I am calling this bs because security is top priority spec with services

Yah. We should really place faith in Sony and not this guy at all. Case close.

Some of you are so toxic! I cant imagine how you guys are in real life...
Meet me somewhere and fucken find out!! You little bitch! I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.

This just reminds that I made the right decision in never giving Sony my credit/debit card information, even before the 2011 hack. I always buy PSN cards from stores.

Good job, me.

Can't have a trophy / achievement thread without people desperately trying to tell others they don't care about them. You can say that about most hobbies, for me spending hours on building model planes or painting Warhammer figurines would be a waste of time. We are all different.

As for Hakoom, with the number of platinums he was getting he surely relied on outside help and sooner or later that can mean breaking Sony's rules and getting a ban.

Restoring xbox account is harder actually but rarely happens to someone, you don't hear about xbox account hacks but you do hear about psn account hacks.
You can literally google it and see it happens just as often.

The guy in the OP is FOS and was an account sharer as most of these top trophy hunters are.

I find it wild that he was able to infiltrate the telegram of the people that stole his exact Sony account and they didn't have disappearing messages on and spoke publicly (granted it's probably a semi-private or invite only group) about it. However, there's a lot of speculation that he comes from a wealthy family and that's why he's able to put so much time into playing games, so he might have had money to throw around. These groups aren't necessarily hard to find - a lot of them advertise on popular public hacker forums for buying/selling on the clearnet.

What's really damning evidence to me is the screenshots of the Sony database and the chat. That does not look like a chat some guy would be able to make up that doesn't have English as his first language. It's pretty clear that hackers phished Sony employees or contracted employee accounts (which seemingly don't employ MFA) and those employee accounts are used to sell accounts. This is very common across a lot of industries and is how a lot of people get doxed (people steal employee accounts from Lexus Nexus, for example, to obtain a victim's SSN).

There's an entire wiki article on the 2011 PSN outage ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_PlayStation_Network_outage ) and many of us were victims of it and only got offered like a year of identity theft protection. This just proves that Sony learned absolutely nothing from that incident if they don't implement MFA on their employee's access to internal customer databases.

All these companies suck, I hope this guy gets his account back and an apology but I'm guessing Sony won't admit blame because of the PR fallout from having their internal employee accounts jacked and sold on the web by social engineers.

Hope he gets his account back.
He didn't just lose his account, he had personal information basically leaked by that corrupt employee. Basically, he was also doxxed. I don't think one would ever plan on making a return after having to go through such an ordeal.

That’s his words. Sony Playstation security is solid as hell, no reason to trust this guy

Seems a lot more plausibe that one of the many people he shares the account with couldn't be trusted. If that part is even true at all which I even have doubts about. With how he is whining about the ban and them not sending him free stuff anymore it sounds like he is just bitter and trying to make Sony look bad.

You'd be REALLY surprised to know that people who do not just do these things on Telegram, automatically think they're safe from prying eyes just because it's "Telegram".

Not long ago, a South Korean journalist managed to get into a South Korean Telegram group of guys selling and posting nude pictures of their female family members... yes, their female family members (sisters, mums, aunties and grandmas). They even talked about drugging and SAing them to just show off.

Not just that group, but many people infiltrated South Korean Telegram groups that were making deepfake porn of female classmates, from minors to university students.

There were over 100 Telegram chatrooms made by South Koreans. I just used these 2 examples.

But yeah, long story short, these people running these Telegram chatrooms aren't some smart bunch of people.

Seems like there is no watchdogs over the support team which makes sense if you've ever engaged with them much over the phone and online(at least in my experience).
