If she suggests sharing a portion of nachos im slapping a ring on it.

Nachos at the cinema? Could you pick something crunchier and louder, please? Maybe just bring some bubble wrap to pop :p

Really late I know but I am catching up :lol I went to the new Cinema at Aldershot to see Skyfall and it was really good! Just got really small screening rooms. They have D-Box though and I really want to try it out!

Another circa-Aldershot GAFFER. Hello :) What's a D-Box? Sounds hot.

Decided to do the most un-halloween thing ever last night by watching The Thin Red Line. Spent the rest of the night staring at the ceiling wondering why we can't all just get along :(

I didn't end up playing Costume Quest last night because I was playing with Windows 8 on my laptop.... it's not too bad, actually. Give me a month with it and I'll see how I feel.

Tried a bit of NFS: Most Wanted too - seemed pretty enjoyable.

Holy shit - pretty much sold out across the board!

There's a few kicking around but I wouldn't be surprised if all the great seats are gone. Was thinking of waiting until the next London meetup is announced (Since I'm down there anyway, hit two birds with one yadda yadda) before pouncing for a ticket but not so sure now. Tickets might disappear by then.

I was going to get 2 tickets for a friend and I, but he works at a school as a TA so can't take weekdays off & I can't seem to find any cheap tickets for a Saturday.

Ahh well, he wants to see it more than I do and he knows what days he could wangle off if any - I'll let him figure it out :)

When keepin it real goes wrong. Very, very wrong.

Don't be an obnoxious jerk and eat loud food in the cinema.

How did you car modifications go?

Bailed when i needed to take my ENTIRE DOOR PANEL OFF. Booked my car into HALFORDS (FTW) to have my speakers fitted tomorrow.

My new dash ain't came yet, don't know how I'm going to get that fitted.

Dammit, I agree with Kentpaul again :(

BRB GAF, analysing my life :p

Are you enjoying the freedom of driving, then?

Hey! Farnborough here. D-Box is kind of like those 4D rides at Disney :lol The seat moves along with the film :lol

I shall not be coming to meet up because I am only 17 :p

There will be plenty of responsible adults there, but yeah - I'd've been sketchy about random internet meetups at 17! I'm still slightly sketchy about it now, actually.

For once, Kentpaul dishes out good advice. Plus, Nachos = messy fingers? probably just the way I eat them then. At least popcorn isn't as bad. Go with popcorn and don't forget to cut a hole in the bottom of the packet.

I think the problem is that we will be in pubs, which he won't be able to get into.

You can fix that though Musha!

Totally this! I met up with two gaffers at Eurogamer and it was fun! I will take the risk of meeting random people from this site :p

Maturity, bitches.
I attended an internet meetup when I was around 16. Just got a older person to buy me a drink at the pub.

Remember you can drink at 14 with a meal. And technically it is only the bar you're not allowed at.

Try explaining that to a doorman after dark when you have an under-ager within the group. Some london gangsta's will see the rejection and do a hold up further down the street.

Cindres

Vied for a tag related to cocks, so here it is.
Cinema nachos are wank anyway. Very odd texture and the cheese that comes with them is... really solid.

Perhaps you should carry around a copy of the law so you can quote it in great detail. Even better if it is a scroll so you can hold it out in front of you and then open your arms like a crocodile's mouth.

Though looking this up it seems the age for a drink with a meal has risen from 14 to 16. Those 14-15 really have missed out.

You act as if they are going to last beyond the trailers...

Going to make an obvious point here: make sure you do drinks / food either before or after. Going just to see a film is not a good date idea once you're over 13 :D

Of course!

So my pork scratchings are a no too?

I love the terribleness of them.

Jackben

bitch I'm taking calls.
When I used to work at Shoprite there was always this homeless woman who would come into the store and shop for an hour only to buy a single pack of pork scratchings and eat the whole thing while checking out. I felt bad for her but also grossed out that someone would scarf the whole bag like that. Actually I just dislike pork scratchings in general, gross things.

I enjoyed that song far more than I'll ever enjoy anything I see on The Young Apprentice.

Actually, I have to be honest, whilst I don't usually follow shows like The Apprentice, I do really enjoy them when I catch an episode.

The problem is, I tend to get a bit hooked once I'm invested after an episode or two - that's how I got really into Masterchef for the second half of a series last year.

There was a cool standup comedian show of the same sort I really enjoyed last year too - should probably find out what it was and if there's gonna be a season 2.

You act as if they are going to last beyond the trailers...
I take it back, then - this is fine.
I try not to start eating my popcorn until the movie starts. That way it tastes extra good when I pinch the odd one early. It's a sad, simple pleasure but it keeps me going.

I want to punch each and every one of them in the face.

Isn't that half of the enjoyment of the show? I like when one of the more obnoxious of the pack gets totally owned by a sarcastic Alan Sugar comment and they come crashing down to earth, met with the sneers of their peers. Especially is Sugar then turns on the others so everyone is miserable!

Actually, I'd just like a TV show of some grumpy fucker (ideally me) just having a go at smug idiots with no fancy bullshit competition surrounding it.

How do cinemas make that cheesewater they blob on the nachos? It's not melted Tesco Everyday Value Cheese Food Slices, it's runnier and plastic-ier!

I feel bad laughing at kids which is why I've never watched the junior apprentice. It looks like a very waja show.

I do love that bit. Smug cunt gets shot down by Sugar, which makes the rest of them look all smug because they didn't get shot down.
Sugar then shoots them down too.

Smug cunts.

I just scaved a new(er)(ish) pc from my friends in the IT dept but damn... the thought of fucking around with all that PC stuff to get up and running again makes me head spin. This is going to stay in the corner of my living room for a long ol time I reckon!

Why can't computers just be easy??

Want me to get it running for you?

edit: this a fairly open invitation to BritGAF, by the way - if you can get it to me, I'm happy to look at it and fix what I can for you. Obviously if you want to buy me a cider or something, that helps :p

My friend won £13.5k at the weekend and got me a 660ti. Will be my first time mucking about inside a computer. Hopefully not too hard as I don't want to use my 6770 any longer :lol

Really really easy - pull one out, plug the other in. You may get addicted to opening your PC and playing within, though.

All the complaints about people getting banned from going online with Halo 4 early are pretty silly. If you get a game before you're supposed to (and no one can claim ignorance here, you don't just "accidentally" do that) and you're dumb enough to go online, you deserve what you get. Common sense.

I would but I keep spending all my money on iPads and shit, I can never work up the dough for a real Mac. I just get cast off PCs. I'm like my grandad, I only need it for gaf and porn these days.

You granddad has a GAF account?

I got the Wind Waker early (actually my mum did and she's not exactly game savvy). Should my GameCube have blown up thus rendering it unplayable? Your console. Your rules. Don't be a corporate apologist.

Good! I had a choice between that or a new CPU/Motherboard combo. I didn't want to try and fit a CPU and Motherboard so went for the Graphics Card haha. On the way home to install it. :D

Same goes for you - if you need any help with PC shizz, I'm only in Ash Vale, so let me know.

Buy a Mac℗. They just werk!℠

I'm no fanboy, but I honestly still don't think a Mac is a decent substitute for a Windows machine for general PC use when you factor in how wide the availibility, and how much choice there is of easily installable programs is on a Windows PC. There are very few practical reasons reasons to get a Mac that I can think of, but there are many I can think of for going Windows.

For the last few years I've really wanted a MacBook Pro, but for the configuration I want it would cost over £2000.

In comparison the ASUS laptop I bought in March this year (i5 2450M, 8GB RAM, GT540M) cost around £400 and does everything I need and more.

So... yeah.

And Con Air is on TV right now. :)

1) Gamecube never had an online infrastructure.

2) I'd understand if someone who isn't tech savvy inadvertently broke street date but no one actually going to play the game is going to forget no one else is playing and that they have the game before it is to be released. I think some common sense to not go online with a game before it is supposed to be released would be more prudent than getting mad at your account being suspended for doing something that is genuinely suspicious. Getting your console blacklisted would be awful but from what I have seen that isn't the case, people are simply being suspended pending investigation for doing something that is legitimately suspicious. If' I'm wrong, fair enough, but please hold the ad-hoc insults on your response.

3) I'm not a corporate apologist. I don't even own a 360. But I guess we should give you props for insulting me and say that you are on fire.
