I just love driving in snow, specially when it is a few days old and icy underneath. Best sort of driving there is. The snow muffles all the tyre noise, roads are quiet, there's a whole new graceful driving technique kind of like slow ice-dancing. Best drive I ever did was from Doncaster to Marple over the snow-laden Pennines thirty-odd years ago - didn't see another vehicle for miles and miles and had a whole load of fun working out how handle the car in those conditions. Took me about half the journey to get it right and the rest was bliss.

Edit: I know someone who has a tradition of driving round the city on a day, between Christmas and New Year's Day, and just drives, cause the streets of the city of London is devoid of traffic then. I can't remember which day specifically though.

lolol, good ol' JKCC. The "red shirts" IT Support staff were a right bunch of Jeremies when I was there.
Are they still advising you to submit your 800KB java code and <1MB report on a CD? I only did that for the first coursework and then just handed in floppy disks for every other coursework since. That vending machine next to the JKCC entrance/exit that leads into the main hallway was the only place I could find them. I'll be surprised if it still sold floppy disks today.

You joke, but that machine still exists, and still sells floppy discs. We hand in our code online now though, so god knows what they're for.

I used to love the snow then I got a job in the same town I live in only 15 mins from work and unless there is some kind of freak snow storm that deposits 4-5ft of snow I can't see me blagging the day off, its not happened in 8 years so far so I'm not getting my hopes up.
And that is basically why I hate the snow, because I have to work and I know pretty much every fucker I know is having an easy day :-(

Katy Hill always struck me as a bit brittle but she is/was indeed very lovely. You remind me of my mate who has always been a lifelong fan of Phillippa Forrester (and also lives in Notts coincidentally).
