I love South Park. I like Family Guy and Friends. The boyfriend claims to hate Friends but always laughs at Joey and Chandler when I have it on.
So we were out for a friend's birthday tonight and went to Chiquito in Croydon. Worst service ever. Not the waitress' fault, she was trying her best. But our food came out at different times, they forgot an order, stuff was missing from the dishes, and when we complained the manager was interrupting us and trying to argue back, very bad attitude. Luckily one of our party works for a law firm, and after much negotiation got all the food for free, all the drinks for half price, a free round of cocktails and a piñata.
Unfortunately me and the boyfriend had to leave to get the last train home so couldn't enjoy the free drinks or piñata, but not a bad result at all I would say!

Did they give you complimentary "seasoned" popcorn? ha, Chiquito used to be such a great Mexican restaurant. Not anymore sadly... Still, you got some free grub and cocktails.
Also, I don't know about you guys but that unsecured webcam thread looks like a ticking ban bomb just waiting to explode.

Going into Reading today to have a bit of a mooch with some friends & definitely having an early night tonight so I'll pick one and stick it on in bed.
I made the mistake of finding my Cyborg X joystick at about 1am last night, which caused me to install and play X-Wing vs TIE Fighter until 4:30 in the morning :/ KNACKERED

Friends mostly sucked but some of the episodes were gold:
The one with Ross and the leather pants ("it's made a paste!")
The one where Chandler has to go to Yemen to escape his ex
The one where Eddie moves in / out
The one where Ross's Boss eats his sandwich
Over that many series though they were bound to strike gold a few times.
He really did didn't he? He started out the slightly sleazy pimp and ended up eating pie off the floor and minced beef trifle / wearing "meat pants"...

Friends constantly came across as an attempt at making Seinfeld with "likeable" characters.
But part of the magic of Seinfeld was that all the characters were assholes.
Still, I feel old now that people have brought it up.

The characters were also realistic. You always knew a Costanza type guy who's insecure and constantly complains. You knew a guy like Jerry who thinks he's full of himself and you always knew a woman like Elaine who thought the world was against her. Sometimes you even notice that you have those negative traits yourself and its good to laugh at them. Kramer was the exception although you can't rule out ever having normal neighbours. We always suspect our neighbours to be outlandish. Episode plots were always relatable too where an episode would revolve around the gang having problems in a bakery buying pastries, the confusion of meeting your friends at the cinema in the days before mobile phones or simply built up frustration behind waiting to be seated at a Chinese restaurant.
Friends was about a bunch of models having low pay jobs yet somehow were financially able to live in spacious apartments in the middle of NYC. Phoebe is an annoying character. Joey was just a rehashed clone of Jughead. Monica's clean freak shtick was hard to believe, Chandler was just mean yet nobody in the crew seemed to realise or care and Rachel and Ross's "Will they or won't they" was such an obvious gimmick to reel in viewers.
Good points about the show? coffee shop location was fresh and different. Usually shows would have a bar or a living room as the primary hangout area.
It also had two good episodes in my opinion. The one where they all played football and the one where Chandler and Joey find the free porno channel.
I do that a lot, usually on threads I can tell are going to end up as either dead or argumentative.

I do this ALL the time. I'd say of my potential posts, 50% are eliminated before I even choose to click reply, 30% during the writing phase, and 20% actually make it.
You'd think, given that fact, the posts that make it would actually be decent. But no!

I don't like the implications of their absence. It suggests things about us. We're not exactly the most gated community on GAF!
I'd go with the bigger screen. Bought the same one for my mum. I haven't played on it but it looks great. You can do all the internets stuff on your laptop and just connect it via hdmi.

It is convenient to have the smart TV stuff sure, but if your Xbox or whatever is plugged in, that does TV catch up, music, etc.
I'd certainly give the smart stuff up for another 11" of screen estate, especially if it's in your living room.
You won't use smart tv's as often as you think. And besides, plenty of stuff available to make your tv 'smart'. I.e. ps3. Trust me, you won't use it as much as you think.
Bigger tv > smart tv.
The package is far bigger than you think. Even with the seats down, I couldn't get my 50" in my focus. We had to bite the bullet and get a big minicab.
I lurk most of the time, if thats okay.

My bird drives a 207 though so if all else fails i'l be giving her a call to hit the scene. I may even look into them delivering it to my current address.
