I find the cognitive dissonance between your avatar and your post quite amusing. What are you studying? I always put revision over coursework in priority too, unless I am confident about the material already.

Economics. In this instance I'm doing time series econometrics. I'm picking the easiest modules next semester, no more picking the harder ones to look wise.

Is there anything more depressing than searching for flat shares?

Every option is perfect except for one flaw. They may have pets. They may be a married couple. The house might be just 10 minutes too far from the nearest bus stop. It might be £30 too expensive. The bedroom might not be quite big enough. The current occupier only wants another girl. They current occupier is from Belgium.

And if I find one that's just right, I'll then have the process of arranging a viewing, which really is less about the house and more about seeing if the current occupiers aren't pricks.

edit - and when they don't specify their ages... "21 to 50". Thanks. That helps. Your name is "Sharon", so I can presume either you had shit parents or you were born no later than 1978.

Pets are badass, especially cats. If they're married then you might get some aural porn through the walls. 10 minutes too far from the bus stop is 2 extra songs you get to listen to. £30 less a month is really just one less night out. Small bedrooms are good, they force you to economise on your crap. Get a wig, pretend you're a lady with hilarious consequences. Belgium? Cultural exchange!

You guys seriously suggesting I put up with people from Belgium?!

No pets because allergies and no couples because then it'll feel me vs them. Also no live-in landlords because then it'll feel like their flat, not mine. Everything else I'm willing to compromise on.

10 minutes I can handle. It's 10 minutes too far I cannot. If I have to walk 30 minutes to get a bus which will take another thirty minutes to get me to work, then either the location is poor or I'm living in London.
