I assumed you were doing a placement in Thailand in order to return to the UK with some experience.

I loved working at MFI call centre! It was basically a youth club with a wage; everyone was around my age, the crack was mint, and there was a healthy percentage of attractive ladies to flirt with.
Some of the best years of my employed life purely from the social aspect. But yeah, the work was menial and soul-crushing.

Contrary to just about any kind of consensus or accepted thinking, I never thought those bands were all that 'grunge'. They share some sonic similarities (dat alliteration) between themselves, but very little (if any) with Nirvana, the supposed breakout 'grunge' band. Thinking about it, maybe it's Nirvana that isn't the 'grunge' band...?
Whichever way you cut the cheese cake, PJ, AiC and SG had (for me) too many of the old hair metal/80s rock tropes hanging over their music that it left a bad taste in my lugs. What I loved about Nirvana at the time was how they blew all that shit away.

yeah i know, there are quite a lot of call centre jobs around here. it might have to be a temporary solution just to get some full time cash in.

efl teaching was a solution to travelling and cv building at the same time. for all intents and purposes it was meant to last a bit longer than it has, but thats just the way the deck has been dealt. teaching isn't really my most desired job though.
Some of the more frothing at the mouth posters there have always been somewhat forthright in their views in past threads, usually best to avoid their balderdashery.

Nah, I love working in a call centre. I used to work in one for Virgin Media, that was alright, but the hours sucked. I'm currently working in a call centre for a financial company as a team leader and I love it. The hours are ideal for me and the people I work with - and the people who work for me - are a great laugh, plenty of banter.

Nah, in those times you'd have folk hotlinking gifs from other websites and whenever it was posted on a message board the innocent image would automatically get swapped with something disgusting (usually goatse) and - of course - the mods would see it and think the user was breaking the TOS (posting NSFW images) so they'd get banned for it.
