Just got home with some fish, chips, sausage, and several ciders. GTAV is on!

We had so many people in work buying 16gb USB flash drives because they lacked the storage space on their 360s.
Guy in work got it last night at a midnight launch, apparently there were several hundred people lined up at this tiny store waiting. He spent all the shift making me desperate to play it!

As hilarious as those two pictures are, I can't believe they're not a wind up. The only two explanations are:

Good taste in stations (well, I've only listened to FlyLo and Soulwax so far), may I recommend Worldwide FM too? Some great tunes on there.
- They ordered it on Amazon at most a couple of days ago, otherwise it would have been delivered soon after it was ordered
- They went to a store and picked it up, and nobody working there asked them if they meant GTA V / "the new GTA"

I'm gonna assume GTA5 is pretty good considering how dead this thread is on a weekday.
Yep. I found IV to be pretty poor. The city was well made but it was boring, I never felt like just cruising around and taking it all in. I've found myself doing that several times in V already. The city is great, they really nailed it. The gameplay is much better (except for the stupid 'tap x to sprint/cycle/whatever faster' shit) and the gunplay is fun. I never liked how the cars handled in IV but they are much better now. They're fun but not too arcadey. And I've been impressed with the performance too. For the scale of this game and everything they've included it's a great looking game.
Some of the minor effects are just amazing. Like, flip-flops actually behave like they should and aren't glued to the characters feet. The water is just <3 <3 <3 especially underwater, and it also has Uncharted level clothes wetting.
edit: worst thing so far; the game constantly advertising its fucking app while playing as franklin in the beginning.

I'm loving GTA V, the only thing that's annoying me and it's nothing to do with GTA V is my hand is hurting due to the gap between the Dualshock's thumb stick and trigger.

So, back at work today. I put in a good ten hours yesterday and I want to carry on. I feel like a bit of a dick racing through the missions but I am so addicted to the storyline.
I have a feeling it's a game where I will either do another run of it or spend all my time trying to do all these missions to fucking gold -.-

It's hump day! Three more days for me, then I'm off until October. So much excite!
I played about an hour of GTA last night but then I had shit to do. Incredible, so fucking good! My pal got in from work and had a lend of it, I'm pretty sure he was still up playing when I left for work.
This is the first time in as long as I can remember where I've been looking forward to going home so I can play a game!

Yep, its pretty fucking great.
I've never really felt compelled to actually do missions in a GTA game before but I'm really enjoying the story so far in this one.

cheers. I think I've got it, looking at guides and YouTube videos. Seems to be the only true problem area is the extra delicate ribbon cables, but otherwise seems just like a PC.
A PC with a T10 screw.
Picked a set up at Maplins along with some compressed air and Arctic silver paste. I know I just paid through the nose for all of that but I don't give a fuck I want this thing fixed tonight.

Managed to complete Franklins first mission, get a haircut, stroll about his neighbourhood on foot to learn the layout, and watch some TV (Impotent Rage) before I gave up on my machine.

2. Watch shit she won't like, thinking a Man in a Suitcase marathon tonight (look it up kids), and perhaps Assault on Precinct 13 (original) tomorrow...
3. Finish my underground fort on Terraria on the iPad
4. Investigate the depths of porn, see how far I can go down the rabbit hole without coming back changed for ever.

Yeah the guides are really easy to follow, a great help for the first time I did it. The ribbon cables aren't that delicate.
What's the compressed air for? And do you have a heat gun? Worth paying for top notch thermal paste though.

Guys am I broken? GTA really didn't grab me yet.... I played maybe 2.5 hours and ending up pausing it to play more Civ 5 instead. I've got tomorrow off so I'm gonna play it all day so hopefully it will grab me then. Maybe doing more exploring rather than mission after mission would help.
Really couldn't stand the dialogue with Franklin and his crew so far.... Michael seems far more interesting to me. We shall see we shall see.

Compressed air for dusting. I keep a clean house, but computers are dust magnets and after 6 years of use there's probably an amount of build up which won't be helping with heat dissipation.
No heat gun - it's not a ylod so I don't need to be reflow ing it or anything, I reckon it's just dried paste.
And yeah, grabbed my usual standby of Arctic silver 5. That one's always seemed to me the best compromise of cost and performance.
