Yeah it's funny how many people got into American Football over there I found.

This last point is where I'll give the sport a pass. There's so many members of a team that the talent really comes from working together well, not necessarily the individual players apart from a few big positions like running back/quarterback/etc. In every other professional sport, if you spend a ton of money for the best players, you're probably going to win. Football is much more...what's the word, parity? among the teams.

That said, all of those delays in play and stuff I just get so bored. That's why I always stuck with hockey and basketball.

The flat I'm staying at has no Internet connection, none of the sims I can find for my phone allow tethering, and all the public wifi points are broken most of the time. Aggghhh.

Edinburgh has been fantastic, actually, but I can't share a whole lot in my now completely dead thread at the moment because of the connectivity issues. Or get much work done, but I'm okay with that part. ;b

Nope, a lot of those bands strike me as being very similar to shitty emo music (and I love GOOD emo music). It's more that a lot of shitty emo tries to ape metal, really, but it's still true.

Fair play Coldman, good post.

I must admit, I just lump any heavily emotive rock music (obviously including Paramore, I made that caveat in the post) under the "emo" tag. I wasn't aware of the subtleties of the sub genre, that shit always boggles my mind! (funnily enough, me and Musha were talking about the exact same thing a week ago!)

But yeah, like Mike says, good emo is good, bad emo is bad. Which in itself, of course, is entirely subjective.

I was actually trolling with my post. Kinda thought the last 2 (possibly 3) quotes showed that. Every song I quoted are great Metallica tracks. Just because they got a couple of sad tracks doesn't mean they are "emo". Easily possible to pull the same stunt with any band/act....except perhaps Scooter or Andrew WK.
