Anyone have good recommendations for pubs in Bristol? I'll be there this coming weekend.

I was in Bristol last month with Zahra - there are so many cool places, you'll love it.
my recommendations are Illusions Magic Bar, and right around the corner there's a speakeasy called Hyde & Co (you have to knock at the door and be let in)
Both very hipster bullshit, but great places too.
Thanks guys! I'll try and check those out if I get the chance.Last Resort club night is in Bristol this Saturday at this address

What happened guys?
Am I old-school now?
Come on BritGAF!
"Wise from your gwave!"

I'm really looking forward to it.
I have an Xbone now.
It's swishy and new.
Anyone want to befriend I?

I feel like I have an obligation to play The Division, some of my girlfriend's friends up here in Newcastle worked on it and I've been hearing generally good things...
This is my mandatory post of the month.
Sorry Beth, I've been all caught up in The Division. It's purdy good
The zoo isn't half bad either.
Man, I actually can't wait to go back. I really like Bristol.
I think Z and I are going to do Manchester again next, because I want to go to the zoo there.
I saw you online with it! Been v busy with work though so forgot to comment.
Also been enjoying The Division, it's pretty neat. Enjoying the wrecked city / mostly realistic feel to it and it puts me in mind of PSO a bit.
Pffft. We haven't even gamed on the PS4 yet!
*kicks dirt*
Also, I don't have an Xbone.
Yeah, you lose interest after they feel a bit too aged, huh?
No probs. Wish they'd hurry up and get Rez on the backwards compatibility.
What are you playing at the mo? I tried gauntlet on ps plus. It was alright. Bit like Diablo crossed with old school Gauntlet. That's multiplayer.
Why is it up to me to sort something eh? EH? EH?!?!?!

Yeah, you and me both. At least if it doesn't end up in BC there is RezPSVRMorpheusX or whatever it's called to at least ensure there is a version of it playable in this gen.
I quite liked Gauntlet, makes perfect sense as a twin stick shooter. Would probably go back to it if I couldn't find anything to play, but on the other hand I just finished building a desktop arcade cab so I might not be lost for games for some time.
fwiw, just finished Assassin's Creed : Syndicate, that was good fun. Evie is a wonderful lead character.
Well, y'know, I don't wanna, like, disturb you and that.
Um. I'm mostly playing Bloodborne still with a dash of SOMA and Hotline Miami. Hitman tomorrow though. I got Battlefront, but that'll have to be at the weekend. Et tu, Sploatee?
Don't be daft! Being awake is a disturbance to me. Everything else is insignificant.
Ah cool. Well, I just sold Battlefront, damnit. No hard feelings towards it, it's just that after about 60 hours I felt no desire to keep playing.
Me...I'm in the Xbox glow at the mo, so mostly sunset overdrive and Titanfall (again) but I've been playing a bit of Black Ops3 and enjoying it, which is a new feeling for me.
I dabbled a bit in Ori and was impressed with the Witness, but neither have really hooked me, yet, at least. Both seem like fantastic games, mind.
I'm getting curious about the Doom reboot. Aside from that and the aforementioned Rez VR, there's really only No Man's Sky that has my interest right now. I'm kind of burned out on Souls games, think Quantum Break looks a bit vidyagamez-by-numbers and have no investment in the Uncharteds.
Yup. Rez VR is the killer app for me. I am so incredibly excited for it. Like you say, I just hope that for all the contracts and what not it's defined as a separate beast from Rez HD.
Oh wow cool! Would love to see a pic!
I've heard good things about Syndicate. Not sure if AC games are my jam but I'm open...seems like Ubi are addressing some of the problems with the series.

Say what now...?
Where's Sploatee?! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH HER?!
Coolio. Well, that puts somewhat of a spanner in the works.
Yeah, am a bit curious about Doom now, but I'm still playing Battlefront right now. Helps that we got a new telly that is ridiculously sized and everything looks amazing on it.
Also with you on No Man's Sky, but I lost interest in Elite pretty quickly last year so hoping for a bit variety than that one.
AC:Syndicate is one of the better AC games, but if you're not really into the formula it's not going to grab you.
The cab is a Picade, started it last year and had to wait on a new board as the shipped one was toast. Finally got back round to working on it a few weeks ago.
Yeah, you lose interest after they feel a bit too aged, huh?
I and the lady will be in the Victoria District of London for a week in July. Any recommendations fore food and beer!
Do you have PS+? Gauntlet is actually quite nice mild fun
I do. Can I get that for free? How about we get Nidhogg? That looks fun! Get BritGAF involved!
This I can dig!
Is nidhogg online though?
If it is I'd totally be down for that, although we'd need to catch up with the ps4 owners who have dearly departed. To whatsapp.
I'm very much up for doing some Helldivers co-op if anybody wants to join in
I have Helldivers! I've never played it.
Are you playing Bloodborne at the minute?
ish.
I was but I'm taking a break. I got put off by listening to elitist Bloodborne fans gush about it, so I'm deep in Division right now.
I've come to the conclusion that there are just too many games
Yeah, but, like, its fucking amazing, yeah?
I really want to dip into The Division. Is it good? I thought the beta was swell. I really like the setting; its a neo-liberal prepper's wet dream. Much more appealing than Destiny's 'Halo in Furs' schtick.
Tell me about it. I'm juggling SOMA, HITMAN, both Hotline Miami games, another Sunless Sea run and Darkest Dungeon at the moment. Then I've got a ton of other games I haven't even started.
The Division is fun, but I can see why there are people not loving it.
For me I really like the dark zone stuff, which is very tense, and, if I'm honest, the incremental gun upgrading gets me off a little bit too.
I couldn't give a toffee for the 'story' or whatever, but the setting is cool.
SOMA is the shit, by the way, good choice. I really need to dive back in and complete it, it's gorgeous and the whole theme of the piece feeds so deeply into "my thing" when it comes to fiction. Perfection.
I'm very much looking forward to Hitman too. That's today, right? I think my pre-load is ready for when I get home tonight, if I'm not too late (playing 40k with friends straight from work)
Is 40K still a thing? Didn't know you were a board gamer! UP THE TYRANIDS! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! I'M EMBARRASSING MYSELF, AREN'T I?!
I'm very much up for doing some Helldivers co-op if anybody wants to join in
Yeah man, the 40k scene is coming back, too, they just reformed the specialist games team, so expect stuff like Necromunda to come back soon.
I roll Orks. Get into it.
Are you much of a PC gamer? You mentioned Sunless Sea and Darkest Dungeon....do I have you on Steam?
Wonder how long before I start sneering at indie games and getting into FIFA
I think I got it on ps+ - I'll check.
Nothing wrong with 40k! Apart from the cost, of course.
I'm really surprised at how un-shit the Xbone is. Was expecting it to be a catastrophe and while the UI is truly fucking awful it's really quite a neat and quirky little (big) machine. I have the elite controller too and it feels like luxury gaming.
I'm really feeling the gaming love at the mo. For the past few months I've been dipping in and out but over the last few weeks I've been really rediscovering the joy again. Weird that Black Ops 3 should be the trigger for that and not The Witness, mind. Wonder how long before I start sneering at indie games and getting into FIFA 😊

Not enough DAKKA DAKKA.
Man, I used to play Space Marine/Epic way back when the main source book was Adeptus Titanicus. I still have that somewhere. Never tried 40K. Not enough Land Raiders.
I play bits and bobs that my laptop can cope with. Not fucking SUPERHOT, apparently, because your God hates me.
I've never given my Steam name out. I'll look it up! Probably screamingmeat or a variation on that
Excellent, we can play next week maybe? Or I think I can be free on Sunday
Well 40k is the thing now, everything but 40k and Age of Sigmar (which is what Warhammer classic is now bafflingly turned into) are the only things they really do.
That'll change soon. I'm tempted to jump ship for Battlefleet Gothic, if that picks up again.
I can do any evening from about 9pm onward. Not that you asked, you fuck.
Age of what...? What?
BG is getting a vidya game soon(ish), innit?
You were part of the 'we', dickbutt
Not enough DAKKA DAKKA.

Am I in some fucking Bizarro World or summink? DA FUCK HAPPENED?!
The Elite controller is a lovely controller though, the DS4 seems like cheap plastic in comparison. I was quite looking forward to The Witness, but my daily business is mostly solving abstract puzzles so it just felt like work when all I want to do is unwind.
And on that subject I hit a glitch in The Division which dropped me through the floor into room filled with servers. Just like any other Thursday.

I used to play Epic too. Although it was then called Space Marine. Was great fun. Even though I always, always lost.
