When evil threatens the world, the world calls on Broforce - an under-funded, over-powered paramilitary organization dealing exclusively in excessive force. Brace your loins with up to four players to run ‘n’ gun as dozens of different bros and eliminate the opposing terrorist forces that threaten our way of life. Unleash scores of unique weapons and set off incredible chain reactions of fire, napalm, and limbs in the name of freedom.

CURRENT.png

  • The Broforce: Deliver your own brand of shock and awe with dozens of bros each with their own unique weaponry and special attacks designed to dispatch freedom across the world.
  • Bro-Op & Deathmatch: Battle terrorism with up to four players in cooperative mode or sever ties with your bros and face each other in several bombastic competitive modes.
  • Explosion Run: Join up with other bros to tackle these unique time attack levels under the pressure of exploding terrains and mass chaos.
  • Fully Destructible Everything: Destructible terrain opens up a slew of strategic options while the abundance of Exploding Red Barrels of Justice™ can literally level the playing field with one shot.
  • Level Editor: Design your own playground of destruction with a robust level editor and become the envy of all the other bros by sharing them online. Browse through scores of custom user created levels and complete them to rate their Bro-ness.
FUTURE.png

  • New Bros: Broforce is always looking for a few good bros to join the team. Free Lives will create a plethora of new bros and are always interested in hearing your ideas of powerful heroes that can bare the burden of being a bro.
  • New Missions: New missions will be added to the world map through development and will extend to new environments and locales.
  • Tweaks and Polish: Broforce is pretty rocking now but Free Lives will be iterating, tweaking, and polishing to see what works and what needs more time in the oven. Feedback welcome, bros!
  • Explosions 3.0: What is Broforce without better explosions? Ongoing revisions and additions to the explosions are tantamount to fulfilling Broforce's destiny.
  • Sound Design and Music: Continuing work to revise and add new music and sound design to celebrate freedom in your ears.

Edit:
And now with 100% more Neo

Edit:
Also 100% more Boondock Bros, Machete, and Conan

I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed this game and I played it with my keyboard. It's really awesome and has a lot of content. Can't wait to buy it. I'm gonna wait till retail release to buy it instead of the Alpha.

Unlocked Bro in Black, his weapon is the firt gun Will Smith uses in the first movie(MIB), complete with the knockback lol

Having played more, turns out Indy had already been added (with a whip that acts as a grapple hook) and even better, Ash is the game, complete with chainsaw

I think the little details really add personality to the game. For example, if you die around guard dogs, when you return to that spot as a new character, you'll see the dogs feasting on your corpse.

Or how each character plays differently. Macgvyer is all about explosives. Agent J (Bro in Black!) and McClane can stun enemies with a neuralizer or flashbang, respectively. Indy has his grapple hook. Blade is all about melee. Terminator has a minigun with crazy recoil so you have to plan for that.

Or how there's a rudimentary line-of-sight/stealth system. Enemies are attracted to noise and will investigate. You cause distractions and flank, take out a few enemies with silent melee strikes, lure them into traps.

Is the full version going to get a new artstyle?
Those characters in the OP does not have that 8bit retro style to them, they still look awesome though.

Originally the game was going to have a painted style, but the devs said it was too time consuming and they had to switch to the current style to keep making progress.

This is the forum link where they first showed off the game with that look: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104989

It's a shame because the other style was really awesome, but I love pixel art so I appreciate the current graphics as well.

Thanks for the explanation and link.
It did indeed look awesome with the more detailed style.
But yeah, I love good pixel art as well so still looks great if just a little bit more typical since so many games use retro stylings these days.

I'm confused, The style in the OP, is that the style they're staying with, the last time i watched a playthrough it was not that clean

Gameplay wise looks fun, has a crazy Retro City Rampage feel, but with an Homage to Contra.

But, even if they were having problems, and were not moving as fast production wise with the painted style. I feel it loses a lot of it's character. It's like if Metal Slug couldn't get the game to ship on time with their current art style then changed it.

I am looking forward to this, but with the change, I feel the specialness of the game is gone with art style that gave it life and character.

I feel going Pixel is a cop out.

Just my 2 cent's don't hate me for it.

Looks fun, I'll keep an eye on it.

Lol, the concept reminds me of that fake game that became a meme on Gaf for a while.
Dudebro: My Shit is Fucked Up So I Got To Shoot/Slice You II: It's Straight-Up Dawg Time. First thing that came to mind too.

Since this an OT I'm assuming the game is going to be released soon?
Well I made the thread just to share the info with GAF, not as an official OT, but might as well. Last update news was in July, stating that the beta would be available in "the next month or two", so I'm assuming that September is the likely time for the beta release.

I'll message the devs on FB

My mistake I thought there was OT in the title.

Already preordered!

I'm excited to see how death match games turn out

Played the in-browser alpha/demo for over an hour. Holy shit this game is fun. It's like a really violent Metal Slug meets Dig Dug.

I lost my shit when I unlocked Ash. His psycho chainsaw special is awesome on the big guys.

Fucking MacBrover and those turkeys (or are they chicken?).

this looks great!...not going to lie...a PSN version would probably be an instant buy for me lol
Yeah, I was thinking that this would be a good fit for VITA/PS3/4.

They should add Broneda and give him the giant laser cannon to cut through enemies. He could throw teddy bears that explode and cover enemies in acid milk. Even a dystopian sci-fi anime stage with stereotypical enemies like Boomers and Valkyries and shitloads of neon.
