Almost 30 years of awesomeness. Only maybe Sport disappointed me.

Out of the options I would say Shinji Mikami. Created Resident Evil which is now more relevant than ever. Directed Resident Evil 4, the greatest game of all time. Resident Evil (2002) is a masterclass in how to do a remake and still one of the scariest games ever made. God Hand and Vanquish are up there as cult classic goats in their respective genres. Dino Crisis was also cool back in the day, and I liked The Evil Within too.

However, I think where Mikami also excels is as a producer and studio manager. He basically set the wheels in motion for an insane amount of games. Without him you wouldn't have Phoenix Wright, Okami, Devil May Cry, or Hi-Fi Rush. He co-founded Clover Studio, Platinum Games, Tango Gameworks, and now Kamuy. What I like is that he is committed to training the next generation in how to develop videogames. He did what Miyamoto used to be interested in doing at Nintendo until he decided to produce movies and work on theme parks lmao.

Ps1 through ps3 - Kojima
Ps3 through now - Miyazaki

P.s. LOOOOL putting Straley and Cuckman together... nice try though

I voted Kojima. He's never made a bad game, and he just gets it.

Miyazaki is the close second. Duskbloods will show us if he can surpass Kojima possibly but I would love for Miyazaki to make a game that is solid 60fps and using modern engine prowess. If he can do that once I'll give him the crown.

Yoshiaki Koizumi (Mario Galaxy) Hidemaro Fujibayashi (The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild) Alex Beachum (Outer Wilds) Hideo Kojima (Death Stranding) Hidetaka Miyazaki (Bloodborne).

Top two are exactly who they should be. I can't even pick between them since both have created games that broke my top 5.

Tim Schafer. He is a bit older than me but it has been an honour to grow up together with his games - his underdog stories, rocknroll spirit and dramatic depth had definitely left an influence on me over the years. And he also has the best sense of humour.

All time considered? The names that come to mind first are Kojima, Mikami, and Kamiya.

For whatever reason I don't really consider Miyazaki or Todd Howard despite them making my most played games of all time.

Fumito Ueda

The list has alot of great game directors i also like alot, but all Fumito Ueda games i played where masterpieces, so if i had to pick just one it would be him.

Nomura having zero votes just makes me feel warm and cuddly man. Love this community.

Oh, and Nomura's a talentless hack. Sorry about that, but I've got a daily quota to hit.

Suda51 is missing. Blasphemer.

For me it's Suda, Kojima, Mikami and Levine. Whatever they put out, I don't care if it's a game around watching paint dry, I'm there day one.

Hidetaka Miyazaki: Demon's Souls -> Dark Souls -> Bloodborne -> Dark Souls 3 -> Sekiro -> Elden Ring. With Deracine in between those. Insane run. Im worried about The Duskbloods though, could be his first "fail" since Demon's Souls.
