Broforce - a frenetic arcade shooter, play as your favorite action movie heroes

HOW HAVE I NOT HEARD OF THIS UNTIL NOW?!
Gonna pay for it later today when I get back so many Indie goodness XoX

I played about 7 levels of this a few weeks back and forced myself to stop. Preordered, and will wait for the final release with all of the content and polish in place. Really, really fun - action is wonderfully chaotic and satisfying!

New update:
LEVEL EDITOR
Build and play your own levels using the same tools that we use at Free Lives! It's still a little rough around the edges but we've got it to the point where it's slightly less easy to break the entire game by pressing one wrong button. (We hope). With your help we can make building a level as smooth as a baby dolphin's bum. We're really looking forward to playing some of your levels! Big thanks to our special team of testers who helped us get this far with the editor. Especially Douzeju, North pawfuly and EpicFailNot for the hours of feedback. High fives, bros!

FORUM
We've enjoyed stealing all your awesome ideas. In order to make this more convenient for us, we've set up an All-Things-Broforce forum.
As a side benefit, you can also share your levels, report any bugs, feedback and suggestions here too. Find it here: www.broforcegame.com/forums

...Ok, Go!

Glanced at the forums today...

Neo's going to be added! This game keeps getting better and better

They also added a new multiplayer mode called Explosion Run. Plays just like it sounds

FUCK.

I think that's the fastest I've ever gone from seeing a preview of a game to buying it. Best thing I've seen in a while.

Game was Greenlit over the summer, so it's definitely coming to Steam
Awesome. So wait, game is not out yet? Intetesting.
I stumbled upon this game after buying another indie game that is sonewhat similar to MSlug (forgot its name), and then finding out that Broforce was a lot more fun compared to that game.

No Joseph Brodon-Levitt?
They're using heroes from 80s to early 00s and maybe some from earlier

Reading through the forums, some other characters that might be in the game or have been mentioned

- Man with No Name
- Conan The Barbarian
- Jet Li's The One
- Bruce Lee
- Ripley

There's a thread on the forums where you can suggest characters

You get beta access by pre-ordering now.

Originally the game was going to have a painted style, but the devs said it was too time consuming and they had to switch to the current style to keep making progress.

This is the forum link where they first showed off the game with that look: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104989

It's a shame because the other style was really awesome, but I love pixel art so I appreciate the current graphics as well.

Too bad. The original style looks amazing, and there are so many pixel art games now it's getting boring to look at.

Holy shit, awesome new update

Got this game about a week or so ago. Loved it. I can't wait to see how many bros will be in this. Is it confirmed that they will only be using movie bros or will the eventually go to other mediums?

I think they said only characters from movies and shows

Edit: yeah, here's from the forum
The kind of bro that we want to include in Broforce is was defined by the action heroes of the 80s and 90s in Block Buster movies or popular TV series's. Like John Rambo in Rambo 2 and John Matrix in Commando or John McClane in Die Hard or Ellen Ripley from Aliens. We want to stick to that for the core of the game.
We prefer action heroes from the 80s and 90s, but if the bro is awesome enough we may also include 60s, 70s and 00s and even 10s bros.
There are awesome bros in video games, comics and literature. But we won't be including them in the core of the game. We might try include some of them in custom campaigns eventually.

Man, it loses a lot of the charm with the new art style. But yeah, count me with the people who think this thing is going to be nuked from orbit by the IP holders.
