Burnout Paradise = $8 on PSN RIGHT NOW. Buy it or get banned.

the worst burnout or alternatively my least favourite. If I could give away my pc digital copy I would. I guess it's ok for the first few hours but then the boredom sets in.

Since it'll be my first Burnout, I think I'll enjoy it regardless of whether or not it's disappointing. Kind of like how I used to love SSX 3 until I played Tricky.

The licensed soundtrack is on par with most of EA's licensed soundtracks, or in other words, completely awful. However, they did patch in a classical music playlist that actually kinda fits in a weird way.

But yes, it supports custom OST's. It's the best way to play, granted you don't have shitty taste in music.
Ah, I kinda figured... but good to know about the custom soundtrack, thanks.

Playing this game with PSN-GAF back when this game launched was fantastic. Most fun I've ever had on PSN.

Trying to get challenges done with 8 of us idiots crashing into one another was an exercise in futility that provided some great laughs.

Any of those guys still around??

Rage.

PSN is working, but the store won't let me add funds via my CC. For. Fuck's. Sake.

Never had this problem before; getting no error code. Just "Could not add funds to wallet, please eat a dick."

Any ideas?

Just get a online code from amazon or gamestop.

Anyone knows what will happen to my Burnout Euro PSN save and trophies if I buy this and play it on the same account that I use to gather trophies from the Burnout Euro? Will it create a new set of trophies or will it just complete the trophies that I haven't got? What about the save? I know it won't read the Burnout Euro PSN version but will it overwrite the save?

This game doesn't support custom controls, does it? Ugh, not a fan of driving with R2. It's okay for short term play, but my fingers start to cramp once the second hour or so goes by.

Still, can't complain too much for only $8. Seems like a good game as well. I'll just have to take my time with it.

I bought the downloadable version for 29.99 back in 2008. A little miffed that it is freaking 8 bucks now and free in the UK store FFS, but I don't regret it. What an awesome game. Plz go back to making Burnout games, Criterion. Don't care about ass-controlling NFS games.

Yes. YES.

And while we're asking, please make one with some kind of optional cockpit view. I want to have a fucking heart attack before exploding into a wall at 200+ mph.

If anybody wants another player to try and beat street times with (or beers and challenges), feel free to add "NullPointer256" on either PS3 or 360. I've gotten much farther on the Xbox but I put more time into the PS3 version nowadays since its on the hard drive.

Thankfully I didn't need to. Doggedly clicking the button worked in the end. It was like a test to prove I really wanted the game. 48% downloaded!

I already own the disc-based version, and bought all the DLC. Got the platinum. But only $8....

Fine. I can't wait for Paradise 2!

Does this work with a save file from the downloadable versions from other territories? Really could not go through with obtaining the Burnout license again just to go after some more trophies.

I bought it @ the $29.99 ultimate edition price, when it was released on PSN

Had platinumed it with-in a day + the Bike DLC (when trophies were first introduced, and we were told they were not retro-active), rest of DLC= too rich for my blood, was hoping for GOTY/Full Collection edition, patience paid off, I bought, hell if I bought all the DLC individually when released = close to $40-$50 alone

You can't go wrong, so much fun was had ; ;

Still can't believe 98 fucking trophies for this game, I think 99 is limit for trophies, I think lol

It's a goddamn travesty if some of you are on the fence, $8...that like missing a lunch or hell 2 starbucks cofee milkshakes

Must Buy! @ that price

Wario64, you won this time but can someone please tell me how is the cops and robbers mode, for the love of my life!!!

It's like Capture the Flag with cars

There will be a location where Gold Bars will be placed, 2 team, red/blue, cops n' robber (DUH!)

Robbers know location of bar, 1 robber grabs bar, they will be at a -50% speed disadvantage, you will be towing the bars, your car will feel like a fucking boulder is stuck behind you
Teammates protect you by crashing into the cops who are trying to stop you from scoring

Then next round you switch, you can create custom or I think ranked is 3 out of 5 or some shot like that

Is there still a active community for this mode?

I bought this ages ago but have been afraid to put any serious time into it, because I know if I do it'll either consume my life, or it'll end and I'll miss it dearly. I told myself I'd turn it on and play a race a day a while back but never did. Think I'll give it another shot.

Times likes these make me really, really miss owning a PS3.

FFS, I'd buy all of the content if it were on for this cheap on XBL.

Do you wish you had waited for three years?
Only kidding

Eh, it's a double dip for me. After first having the fat ps3 repaired due to a blu-ray drive failure and just recently retiring the fat and moving on to a slim, I'm looking to run as much as I can off the hard drive.

Edit: Now, if they'd just knock Warhawk down to 8 as well I could retire another disc.

The last Burnout I played was Revenge so I can't wait to get in on this. Although from the sounds of it, they fucked up crash mode.

I replaced my Euro Burnout Disc with the Burnout Package on the US PSN store early last year. My save file was incompatible, so I had to start from the beginning. But it does not write new trophies, the trophies are shared with the EU version. The save is a new save file, the old one is still available (as far as I remember, I removed it long time ago).

Replacing US Disc with the US PSN version yields the same result. The save doesn't transfer so you begin from scratch. Your old save is preserved. PSN save has an icon that looks like a tire mark and disc looks like a license plate.

Trophies do transfer.

I love just screwing around and doing challenges in Paradise, the racing is fun but that's not why I came back to it.

102% here.

Whoa. Platinum in a day? Is that even possible lol? You must have insane skills. I'll try it out. I mean the demo seemed pretty fun and $8 is nothing to me. I've always been on the fence about it because I am usually not much of an open world type gamer.

What to do. I can sell my physical copy for $6 and buy the digital for $8. Already own big surf and it would be nice to have all the other car that come with the digital. What a wonderfully crafted game. So much fun and so much to do.

I already owned this on Steam, but for this price I decided to double-dip. Definitely a great game and tons of fun, plus trophies give me extra incentive to play this again.

I also re-bought this, mainly for a friend who wants to play it online with me. My first platinum trophy. It finished installing last night, will play it today!

I had at least 80 hours pre trophy patch and didn't hit all the objectives required for a plat. When I decided to tackle the game post patch, it took me about 17 hours, no joke. There was some messing about but you can do it even faster I would imagine.

Trophy compare with me lol, you will see

"Repair your car" - Bronze - 9/26/2008 3:49 AM
"Burnout Paradise Elite" - Platinum - 9/27/2008 4:50 AM

The PS3 trophies =/= XBL achievements, they are more relaxed

Hell if you buy this version, you can upload your save through your PC and get a map detailing what shit your missing
I had it do it solo, my fucking head hurt looking for those gates/billboards/locations...but got it done, my 2nd platinum ever, first was Uncharted, and 3 years later this is me ue to it:

When you've actually learned the layout of the city it becomes pure bliss, but yeah, that requires some investment.

Absolutely.

Also, worth mentioning that it's still one of the best multiplayer games on the current-gen consoles, such a ridiculous amount of things to do.

QUESTION: I already own a disc-based copy, along with Big Surf Island and some other DLC--with all the add-ons automatically integrate into the digital version?

I decided to buy it as well. I have the disc version since it's original release, so i just gave the disc to my brother in law. Now, having to start over from scratch really sucks since i already have my elite license. It doesn't make any sense to make the saved games incompatible.

Must have missed this. guess I'm keeping my disc version. I don't have that kind of time to start over. How is cops and Robbers. I might pick that up.

My question is: where do you get all the free time to have 72 Plats? Seriously, I'm jealous, tell me. Do you know of some other dimension that has more hours per day?
