Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Multiplayer World Premiere Coming August 11, 2014

Looks like Black Ops 2.5, at least it's only another year to wait for a true sequel to the best CoD since MW2.

Nice to see they stole Battlepacks from BF4 / Weapon Crates from CS:GO to train us to prepare for "monetization".
 
Titanfall was COD with mechs, now COD is Titanfall without mechs.

So, rent, complete the SP, then a few hours MP, return it and go back to whatever I was playing previously. Sounds like every COD release to me.
 
i'm definitely less hyped then i was before. hope to be wrong, but MP sounds like a mess of all the worst ideas from gaming over the last several years turned up to 11.

Hopefully the kill times are increased from Ghosts. They were slightly too fast in that game and made it feel as though you had no chance to fight back.
 
Ok I have to say:

Back in 2003 there where Unreal Tournament. It had crazy movement, crazy weapons and power ups, all kinds of crazy maps and gamemodes. Along came COD. The fans preferred COD because it was a more down to earth game, with "basic weapons" and straight forward maps and movement.

And now we have this. You gotta hand it to Activision; they played it smart. They have essentially redone the evolution of FPS all over again, and for each new game they bring up something someone else has done already, calls it a new name like Boost Dodge and presents it like an invention.

But who cares really, people like the games...
 
It's people calling Destiny the same as Borderlands all over again... Jeez

Borderlands is actually heavily influenced by Halo. (Gearbox did the port for Halo and then took that and translated it into Borderlands because they enjoyed the controls).

Destiny plays similar to Halo because it's the same developer and they probably still enjoy those controls.

It's not too far fetched to make that connection.

I guess all this dodging and jumping will help a bit. Going to be very interesting, everyone jumping about like idiots.
 
First time im not excited at all for a Call of Duty game. Im not going to lie, I will probably day one buy it, just to stick with my usual routine, but im not "anticipating" it like I have the others.

The mp looks chaotic though, seems like a lot of the scopes and stuff is going to make camping hard. Which is a good thing in my book.
 
Gonna pass on this. Feels more like BO2 predecessor than an new title. And this coming fro someone who liked BO2. That doublejump and one shot kill is gonna get old quickly.
 
As a casual player of COD games I like the options they are giving me.

I agree that some of the loot drops might lead to balance issues but imho balance issues reward the mediocre players (i.e. me) more than punish them.

Lots for me to be hyped about.
 
I'm just saying I would normally go PC because of the aim preference, but I prefer a controller when mobility is so dominant. Boosting, sliding, jumping etc. I prefer a thumbstick.

You don't Know how easy it is to control with WASD. Do not disrecpet us keyboard users we do dances and get things done.
 
So does this mean we'll have a lot of player impressions before the embargo is up for reviews? Or do we think that they'll release the embargo when the Day 0 edition is released?
 
Boost jump, boost dodge, the shield thing all seem to be significant changes. Can shoot while sliding. Co-op scorestreaks, weapon loot. Hundreds of different guns due to the changes they made. Maps designed around verticality.

Honestly this has gone beyond my expectations for CoD. Real fundamental gameplay changes for the first time in a very long time.

Looks good, I'm definitely getting this, but I really hate how they've taken a step backwards in regards to some of the improvements Ghosts made to the series. Ghosts effectively improved on the pick 10 system by allowing you to choose any perk without using any extra points, but that has been thrown out the window in Advanced Warfare, going back to the exact same way create a class worked in Black Ops 2. The number of perks seems ridiculous too, I spotted what, 5 per category? And there were absolutely no new perks to be seen, they were all old ones. The great addition of the marksman rifle weapon category from Ghosts is also not there, from what I could see.
 
maps look way to small for me considering what the exo suits can do. I'm hoping those 4 maps are the smallest maps and were the only ones being shown due to close quarters footage. I mean, when they do the map overlook you can see the other side of the map and where it ends instantly due to CoD design.

GameFly........here I come, will probably skip this year and wait for treyarch as BO and BO2 were my favorite CoD's since CoD4

Oh I understand why people make the connection, but painting a game with such broad strokes is a bit silly. Besides, it's just what this situation reminded me of.

No shit. Love it when people say keyboard doesnt work yet they never played tribes or quake 3. You dont know anything if you think keyboard isnt good for movement.
 
It looks pretty cool (better than ghosts for sure), but we'll have to wait for the release and actual unedited gameplay to tell if it's actually any good. I'm excited about the gamemodes though, having hardpoint and war back is great and uplink looks cool too. I also really liked the pick 10 system in bo2, so good to see it is essentially back.

Yes I do know how easy it is. I prefer a 360 degree joystick over 4 buttons when it comes to movement. And note that I said it was a preference!

I cringed when I heard the guy say "tactical shooter". The video just screamed one-man-wrecking-crew. Granted, it is just a video and I'm sure you can create strategies for objective-based maps, but it just seems like they felt the need to speed up an already fast game. Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure it'll do better than Ghosts.

This looks so amazing. I can't wait. I can't wait. Oh my god. Hype went from zero to 10 thousand.
I was kinda feeling blah about future warfare but after seeing this I cannot wait. It looks so slick, polished, fun.
